You have a great sound on them all. I'm a 16M guy myself. Well done !

I am not a player of music. Conn 16m: Person at the bar that has found love. Yanagisawa: Young person just hitting the bar scene. Conn Transitional: Wise person that has lived a full life, understands. Yet does not need to explain themselves. Because the flow of life just comes natural now.

Toca lindamente. O 16m é perfect. Tenho em idêntico 1958.

I love the original Bob Messenger solo on the Carpenters recording and you did it beautifully. Timbre-wise, I thought there was only a tiny difference between the two Conns. If I heard them in any context other than a direct A/B comparison with headphones, I wouldn't notice the difference at all. Both definitely darker than the Yani. But overall this demo really drives home the adage "it's the player, not the horn."

Os três são magníficos! O som do Saxofone tenor é divino!

I would give the nod to the Transitional over the Yani. I think what some like about the 16m is that it has a brighter sound, but to me the Transitional has a fuller sound with more even overtones. The Yani sounds very good as well, and sounds as if it is easier to play ergonomically. But the Transitional just sounds so good and professional.

The 902 is richer as well.

    *16M , Transitional , Yana for this song /R&B
    hands down
*Transitional 16M toss up for straight ahead
Yana good horns but ths Conns sound a level or two ‘better’ for expression and sound
and after all that’s what its all about. sound!
thank you ! fab tenor sound here

Nice comparison. I play a transitional, you make them all sing. I actually have a 16m I was considering overhauling to have as a backup horn.

Vous jouez merveilleusement bien et le 16M made in USA est fabuleux...puisque j'ai le même !
Mais je suis obligé de reconnaître que le transitional a le son le plus doux à mes oreilles...

I would place them in the order you played them. 16m beats the 901 by a hair, and the transitional had a way less oomph (or maybe just recorded a bit quieter?).
You sound great on all of them, so you can choose the one you l secretly like the most 😉

The difference again is tiny, but after several listens I actually pick the 16M / Shooting Star. On mouthpiece, I'm guessing this is a medium-chamber piece with a moderate step baffle? I play a Vern Buck hard rubber piece with that kind of design and I love its versatility. Huge low end, but a nice edge when I push it.

Thank you for your comment that's really interesting. The mouthpiece I use is an Ed Pillinger, it has a step baffle and is a 9 tip opening made out of bronzite. I don't know much else about it, I just like it. :-)

All 3 sound gorgeous but that's down to Jade! My personal preference is the Transitional as I hear a greater warmth but I suspect the Yani is much easier to play.

Thank you, I think it has to be the Transitional for tone definitely, the keywork isn't too bad actually which is great.

A transição das notas em um Conn são mais macias. As notas no wanagisawa são mais destacadas.

The Transitional has more character : an experienced teacher who exposes the limitations of her subordinates....Conn 16M, Yanigasawa 901.😅

Hiya, it is made by a guy in England called Ed Pillinger, its the 'CC9' model, not sure if he makes them anymore.

Inspiring, beautiful tone, have you played Yani 902 it's the same horn but is made of phosphor bronze, same as the neck on your Yani.
I can hear both 2 and 3 in my replica 902

definitely 901T is the thinner twice lesser than Conn
of course Conn transitional is the king

I had Yanagisawa T901 UL. This tool seemed interesting to me at first, there were good reviews, but then I really regretted that I bought it. It's a terrible sound, it's not a saxophone, it's some kind of wrong saxophone. When I tried Selmer Bundy and Yamaha after him, I was very happy. Yanagisawa surprisingly bad saxophones. Don't buy this garbage.
    Conn is the real thing!

Yanagisawa is not bad company...Have you tried to service it?

    • @AlexVolkhin13

@@antylemingable7128 I mean the timbre, the voice of the instrument. He sounds weird. Why is such a sound needed? I don't know. I don't listen to anyone who uses yanagisawa. I understand those who use these tools because there is no way to buy something else. If conn is difficult to repair, then buy something else. For example, I don't like modern Yamaha. Yamaha 62 the first episode sounds great. But iii iv is some kind of nonsense.

@@patemblen3644 for example, there is such a person Kirill Poudavoff. He sounds great, but Yanagisawa spoils his sound. Guys, I don't understand how you can't hear this. Yanagisawa, this is a very strange sound. I'm sorry, but I don't understand how you can enjoy it?
