I own two of these horns. It's the only tenor that sounds better than my 2 SBA's, 6 VI's, King Super 20 full pearls, series III, reference 54, YTS 875ex. I'm a player/ collector and buy and sell horns. This Buescher is the most underrated horn there is. I always tell people if you are looking for tone this is the horn to get. Keywork isn't as good as other horns but nothing sounds as good as these in my opinion. Thanks for uploading your video.
Hey I was just wondering what about this horn do you like? Or what part of the tone is better than a mark VI? I know that mark sixes are widely regarded as some of the best sounding saxophones, and I was genuinely wondering your thoughts on this. Thanks for the help!
A very good review. I have been contemplating buying a decent saxophone rather than rent to own some worn out student sax. I haven’t seen anything local that was appealing until one of these (circa 1941) came available at a nearby music store. Love the sound. What would be your recommended mouth pieces to get a similar tone to yours? I assume the sax you demonstrated has been sold.

I agree my buescher big B has got the silkiest sound. Just great sound through the whole range

I have a 278xxx too
