      Oh come on, dont talk that SJW Bullshit like Serena herself. What she did was so much worse on so many levels. She called the umpire an incompetent thief and a liar, thats a totally different thing. All three warnings she got were totally deserved and every man, who would have behaved like that would have gotten the exact same treatment. It is the other way around. She thinks she can do more because she's a woman. Thats about it - not the first time she totally freaked out. Remember her death threat to a lines person a few years ago? Her statements about that US Open incident were ridiculous.

Djokovic didnt have the momentum at RG 2018 and A.O. 2018 either. Federer cannot always play brilliant. He will get back and will win many more majors. No need to bitch at him.

    That was some of the most genius tennis I've ever seen Federer play! Not even fan-boying, here. I guess the common denominator (with his most brilliant years in his career) is *having fun* - no pressure. When he is under pressure, from the likes of Djokovic and Nadal, mainly, but not just them - it just oppresses his spirits, his artistry and passion. I hope he will carry this sheer unbridled, impetuous joy to the ATP, and especially the Majors, to come. But either way, the wonderful thing to see is that he IS capable of playing at as high a level as ever. (Granted 5 sets will be much more taxing).
    Aside from that, this was a really fascinating and entertaining match. The Laver Cup is officially - *awesome!*

      Marcos Villavicencio because this was much worse than what happened with Serena. Serena was composed while she was upset maybe she did say some choice words but this is on another level to continue it throughout a set with not 1 warning. While Serena’s comments happened to lose her an entire game in the US open final.

  • @JiraiyaSama86
    @JiraiyaSama86 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Quite interesting. This is a match that Kyrgios could have made tighter, as he normally rises to the occasion against top players. However, inability to deal with adverse circumstances once again kept him from doing so. A commonality seems to be even against top players, if a call doesn’t go his way, he cannot move past it. Last year in Beijing, it was a similar story where he never recovered. Unless he learns to accept decisions from the umpire, fair or unfair, it is logical to presume that he will continue to lose many important matches where an umpire’s decision goes against him. Acceptance of unfairness is an integral part of life.

    • @jamesnm21
      @jamesnm21 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      He may have a mental struggle with feeling demoralized and feeling disadvantaged due to something in his past and when a call goes against him it triggers that mindset and he sort of gives up believing in himself and struggles with negative thoughts. It's probably a tough battle for him whatever the reason and hopefully he gets past it.

    Kyrgios seriously needs to grow as a person (so does McEnroe). Whether you agree with the umpire call or not, he's not going to change it no matter how much abuse you shout his way. It just makes the match uglier, and the umpire was within his right to call that Federer could have made the return (no matter how small). I don't think there's a chance he could have, but it's the umpire's call.

    Nicks forehand is so poor compared to when he first came through. I don’t know what he wants to achieve with that forehand style. It’s not penetrating nor is heavy top spin. Dare I say it’s similar to what Gasquet produces off his FH. The backhand also looks weird and he doesn’t look in full control. He needs to make some technical changes on his game because right now he is getting worse every month. I feel like his return is so poor that he would be better off standing where Rafa does just to get balls back in the court. His movement isn’t bad but it’s more his anticipation which is shocking. The movement requires tennis IQ and Nick lacks tennis IQ when he is defending. He needs a veteran coach who can tactically fix him up and someone who will make some technical changes.

      School Of Thought the thing he needs to do is to get more explosion from the feet and the torso rotation consistently, he’s too casual that’s his problem he has a cracking forehand when he’s commited for it

    This is by far the best i have seen federer play in long time.

  • @poisenopinionator
    @poisenopinionator 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You get the sense that Federer is reading the Kyrgios serve better now. A lot of slice on the backhand, but his ground game overall on fire. I hope he can bring this kind of heat/aggression/purpose in the final tournaments of the year, especially with Djokovic now producing some special tennis.

      That's what has been lacking from his game all year. Also, his BH slice down the line is lethal. He should use it more often. It can set him up forehands. People who say that he shouldn't use slice more don't realize that it's one of Federer's biggest weapons when it is used the right way and with right placement.

    Only one who can beat Federer when he is playing like this is, Djokovic. Krygios ground strokes are far too inconsistent, which gives Federer far too much time to play his shots. Take time away from Federer, with consistent deep and penetrating ground strokes and he's in trouble. Only Djokovic can do it over 5 sets.
    It would have been interesting to see a prime Federer of 2004-2007, with the current modified backhand and attacking strategy, match up against a prime Djokovic. It would be incredibly close, but I'll pick Roger Federer.

      agradina In terms of technique sure, but Federer was faster and made less unforced errors back in the earlier 2000s. Court speed also plays a big role. My money is still on Djokovic if we're playing on modern courts as it favors the baseline game greatly and no one does it better than Djokovic. I consider Federer the more well rounded player, he somehow manages to stay relevant in every era despite significant changes.
