Most of the characters have a real-world fighting style their move list is based on. Like Draganov does Combat Sambo, Leroy does Wing Chun, Leo does Baji Quan ect. Well, assuming they are not bears, or androids, or bears, or they are Mishimas. Although I guess Mishima style is really just non-descript karate and Kuma is doing the ear version of it. Honestly fav character is Lidia but that's more because she's Shōtōkan which is what I basically practiced so it's cool seeing it.
Eddy is a capoeira fighter, a martial arts that looks like dancing. You can see Dante did those moves when he was using Balrog kick mode. DJ doesn't do capoeira, he's a Kickboxer

Yoshimitsu was first made for tekken, but then was also used in soul calibur and he has been a main character in both games since. Heck in lore they are not even the same character as in soul calibur you technically play an ancestor of the yoshimitsu from tekken.
quick note: as you play as steve fox, you cannot kick because he's a boxer. instead, you can use kick buttons for side, front, and back weaves like other boxers. one funny thing: in tellen 7, when you equip a headband to steve, he can do a kick but ended up getting hurt.

Usually a dead giveaway. 2. Yoshimitsu both exists in Tekken and Soul Calibur, because the one in Tekken is the descendant while the one in Soul Calibur is the ancestor. So Tekken and Soul Calibur are in the same universe. 3. Eddy Gordo is a was a main staple ever since Tekken 3 where he's been the main fighting game character to represent Capoeira. You are right that Deejay from Street Fighter uses it too, but the 3D environment of Tekken allows the martial art to truly shine. Now about the lore video I, and a few others, have been recommending you. You have every right to be hesitant of making a reaction video to it due to it's length. But I will mention that the guy who made the video made sure to put chapters in it for each main game. So you don't have to do it in one sitting and can watch it either one at a time, or just split the length in the middle. There's no bad way of going about it. I will mention this though. Some of the characters you've seen for Tekken 8, will not be mentioned in the lore video due to the guy cutting them out for brevity. Most likely because they weren't all that important to the lore. I hope you enjoy Tekken 8 afterwards. Both the story and especially the gameplay, because this Tekken game is the most accessible fighting game you will ever find.

Reina is probably one of the most well designed newcomers in Tekken history. - First of all, she's designed using Heihachi and Lidia as a basis for her fighting style. Because of this, she has a very clear and concise fighting style of being a rushdown character born from 2 rushdown fighting styles. In Tekken 8, where the rushdown meta is strong, this is an amazing combination. - Second she is designed with the intent of being easy to pick up and difficult to master. She has very easy neutral setups with (f,f2,f) sentai stance mix-ups. But she also has very advanced setups involving the use of her wavedash and EWGF. Because of this, a new player using Reina and a veteran player using Reina will look nothing a like. - Third, Reina's lore is probably one of the most interesting and mysterious with it still being mostly unrevealed even after playing the main story. Most people are wondering who Reina's mother could be with some people suspecting Lidia due to their fighting styles. Seeing how Lidia doesn't like Reina in the reveal trailer, it's possible, that she's not the mother. Her reveal as Heihachi's replacement made the entire Tekken community pop-off because there's never been a proper female Mishima before. - Finally, Reina's a sadistic GIRL BOSS that steps on you..
She actually doesn't have Lidia's moves set, they just both use some form of karate but rein uses a mix of Mishima style karate (heihachi) and taido. Lidia uses polish shotokan karate and it's closer to Jin I'd say

Her reveal as Heihachi's replacement made the entire Tekken community pop-off because there's never been a proper female Mishima before.

She actually doesn't have Lidia's moves set, they just both use some form of karate but rein uses a mix of Mishima style karate (heihachi) and taido. Lidia uses polish shotokan karate and it's closer to Jin I'd say
