STRC Off Axle Servo Mount / Panhard Bar For The Axial SCX10

- I took some time today to focus on my SCX10 Jeep that has been a back burner project for almost a year now. However today i will show you the New Axial SCX10 Off Axle Servo Mount / Panhard Bar Kit from STRC That i just installed.
Before i discuses further, I want it to be known that my Axial SCX10 Suspension and drivetrain setups are not even close to the factory setups. I am Running 100MM Shocks as well as SSD Axles! The STRC Panhard bar kit did install and works wells within my setup however it was designed around a stock Axial SCX10. As you will see within the video the whole setup works surprisingly great, however because of my 100MM shock height and SSD axles, the Panhard Bar kit dose run into some very minor issues.
****You will need to have either some extra rod ends for the panhard bar itself or you can also order up Axials AX80005 rod ends.***
This is one of the best upgrade to improve the scale realism of your SCX10 by removing the large and visible steering servo off the axle pumpkin and on to the chassis, which will give your SCX10 a vastly improved realistic look. The 3mm heat treated steel black oxide panhard rod runs across from the knuckle kingpin to a specially design panhard mount on the other side of the chassis rail. The tapered single suspension links provide the necessary clearance for suspension travel. This design is simple and yet very effective. Comes with the following components:
CNC Machined Aluminum Chassis Rail Servo Mount (L) x1
CNC Machined Aluminum Chassis Rail Servo Mount (S) x1
CNC Machined Aluminum Panhard link mount x1
CNC Machined Aluminum Steering extension spacer x1
Harden Steel black oxide panhard rod x1
CNC Machined Aluminum Suspension Link x 1
All neccessary hardware
This combo kit will include our aluminum STA30516 steering kit and all necessary hardware for this kit. It will still require a set of AX80005 rod ends to complete assembly. Does not work with STA30502L lift kit."

Same issue here. 100mm shocks. All you need to do to get rid of your binding is to take out 1 of your upper link in your 4 link setup. You will gain full travel of your shocks without binding.

Your SSD axles actually make it easier to run your panhard correctly, similar to any make Wraith panhard kit. Just, remove one of the upper links....and your done. Your making it harder than what it is. Those axles are basically a narrow AR60s (Wraith axles). The change to a 3 link for stock axles is due to the lack of a front truss in the SCX kit, which SSD gives you. Note that, Vanquish makes this easier by adding mounting for one upper link on stock axles in their kit.
EXACTLY!! Simply remove one Upper Link Rod - Done!!! Both Upper Links AND the Panhard Rod *is what's causing the Binding!!!*
I just bought a pair of SSD Axles. The new ones apparently come with a Panhard Axle Mount, that attaches to the SSD Axle!!

A perfect set up on rcs for pan hard setup is to have the panhard and drag link exact same angle and the exact same length

Looks pretty good to me! Good job you've done👍 I installed the rc4wd version and it works pretty good, the only problem I encountered! Is when the suspension flexes and weights down, the panhard bar makes contact with the differential, it's a little frustrating but it's not too bad👍
I hear ya on that one! thier certainly not perfect but hey it dose what it needs to!
It would also help to flip the servo and use a longer steering rod, the longer the distance, the less the relative angles change with articulation.
I think you might be right! I may need larger shocks to raise the ride height.
I need to do this on my Barrage. I'm getting the same servo in tomorrow and I think I'm gonna try to go in this direction for my setup.

Hey Matt will this servo you have installed work with the SSD axles but with the four link set up? Or do you think it will require some modification? SSD sells the 3 link set up for d60 axles but not sure if I want to go that route.
Great build. Looking to alter mine and want to take some of your ideas. Do you have any pics or vids to share showing the completed chassis with the electronics mounted? I like the rear mounted receiver box. Looks like a gas tank in the frame rails.
Awesome. Have you tried/considered longer rod ends, I think Traxxss makes some, maybe Revo rod ends? And/or have you tried the offset rod ends to help drop the panhard rod down lower on the frame side?

What length should your panhard link be if you've got 110mm shocks. I know nothing on how adjust them.. I've gut the Rc4wd gelande 2 and its stock shocks are 90mm think the panhard link is 95mm?? any help would be much appreciated!

I am running on my scx10 the same d60 axles with 4 links front and back stock honcho shocks...i moved up the servo chassis i am getting bump steer...but i see no room for the panhard between the chassis and servo...need help?
pan hard and the drag link have to be parallel to work properly . good fix lowering servo!
Also should be as close to equal length as possible
+RC Overload you should just remove the drivers side font upper link because that's how my setup came from rc4wd. It would work perfectly if not let me know.
RC Overload, great video with great info, I have a doubt because I have more or less the same setup you have on your scx10, same body, axles, servo, shocks, and same Knight Customs Grill for the Jeep, how does your body fit now you have this CMS from STRC with the grill, I'm thinking on getting it, but it looks that the grill will not fit ok with the servo so on front. since you have both the CMS from STRC and the Grill from Knight customs you could have find a solution or maybe there's no problem with the fit... Thanks in advance. ;)

So close to 10,000 Subs, congrats on the success Matt. Any advice on a problem I'm having? I just got a winch and have to decide how to power it.
1- Y Splitter switch off steering
2- Bastens winch controller

+RC Overload That sounds good. I might just upgrade the radio to a 4 channel and be done with it. Instead of the 2 cheaper options that aren't as good and I can use that radio on other RC's. I really like the Airtronics MT-4S, especially that 3rd channel lever. Any experience with Airtronics?

Why run a panhard bar and the triagulated 4 link? They both do the same thing and in your case they are fighting each other. You can run a CMS without the panhard if you have the 4 link.

Hey one question I have for you? Are those rc4wd ultra hardened scale punisher shafts version 3?! The reason I ask is because I'm looking to replace mine with those, but I'm not sure they would fit. I did put them on my rc4wd gelande2 though!

+tamim khasawneh Dose it use a set screw? if it dose id say to get one otherwise its never gonna work. otherwise if it dosnt use a set screw........Im not sure how it would mount up and stay on.

would you be willing to sell your front housing, i just need the front, actually just the stock section with the two cylinder spacers that stock the servo mount attaches with two screws... i would be wiling to pay, im just looking for a cheaper solution than buying a complete axle housing setup... please let me know if you would be willing to part with it, like i said i would be willing to pay you a fair price, just let me know what your thinking.. thanks

Do you realy need a panhard with a 4 link. The front should be very rigid without panhard. I would think a 4 link will bind with a panhard in place worse. You will probably lose some articulation.
binds with 4 link if you use the panhard but you can run 4 link with cms just need a strong servo :D if not the steering sucks
Absolutely no need for panhard with 4 link .. completely useless and causes binding as u can see in ur vid .
