Check out the conversation that didn't make it to air! Mark sits down with Noel Gallagher to talk about soccer, having children, and the genre of "Brit Pop".
Noel always comes across and genuine and witty, sort of person you could have a session with in a pub. I like that Mark hasn't lost his wide eyed enthusiasm.
Love Oasis, but Cobain is the king of 90’s rock. Noel himself (who typically is kind of a hater) has said that Oasis would never have made it if it weren’t for Nirvana.
@@loganvana Noel has never said Oasis wouldn't have made it if it weren't for Nirvana. Nirvana had absolutely 0 to do with Oasis. (Except for Noel appreciating 'Nevermind'.)
Britain tends to thrive with bands; The Beatles, The Stones...Oasis, whereas the US has the solo artists; Sinatra, Elvis, Madonna, Springsteen, Dylan and so on.
It works the other way too - the US had great bands like the Velvet Underground, The Doors, Talking Heads, Nirvana, etc. while the UK had great solo artists like David Bowie, Elton John, Kate Bush, Amy Winehouse, etc.
I'm Scottish and I get it - it's a Brit thing :P This coming from someone who rarely calls herself British but always does when it comes to Oasis, Noel Gallagher and Harry Potter xD
Except Scots speak twice as fast and are frightened to be themselves because they don't want to get 'to big fir their boots' unlike the mancs and the Irish who have real swagger and confidence
you can't say that. as much as i like u.k. music, i think rock pretty much originated from american blues musicians (robert johnson, chuck berry, howlin' wolf, little richard, buddy holly, etc.). there are also great bands like the velvet underground, the strokes, the pixies, sonic youth, the killers, the smashing pumpkins, the ramones, the white stripes, the black keys.
This is the difference between American and British sporting values. YOU DON’T CHOOSE YOUR TEAM. You either support your local club or grow up gravitating towards a certain team when you are a young child and it just sticks. It’s not like a grown man can just say oh I think I’ll start supporting team A. You don’t choose your team your team chooses you.
As much as I'm not a Man City fan, Noel is probably one of the last remaining Brits who actually still supports the team of where he lives/comes from. Instead of Man U fans or Real Madrid fans who comes from like southern England or Africa...
Syd Barrett, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, James Patrick Page, R. I love a lot of U.K. Bands more generally, however, U.S. Bands: The Byrds, The Doors, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Pixies, Johnny Cash, The Killers, The Velvet Underground, and loads more. I thought what you thought for the longest time too, but the U.S. has a lot of gems hidden under the rubble of shit music. I never reply to comments this old but you are totally wrong. But that's okay. We're funnier than you. America makes fun of British humor for being bad. I love Ricky Gervais, but we took his Office show that only had one good character (Ricky) and turned it into a great show with amazing characters and the best cast in years and made it run for nine seasons.
It was more a roasting for him being a chelsea fan, since the 60s chelsea have always been seen a a "posers" club with fans being people who play in fashionable bands. I say this as a chelsea supporter btw!

Noel is said to be incredibly quiet and reserved in 'real life'. His public persona is 90% an act.
I reckon Noel's right about (classic) American rock bands. Beach Boys i can appreciate for their talents, but they're fuckin lame. The Doors are cool, then there's The Eagles, Creedence, The Stooges, Steve Miller Band and Steely Dan. That's about it. Funk, Soul and Blues rock however...
Might be lame but I would wager Noel dismiss them because he sees them as cheesy. If he would have heard some of the non fun in the sun hits he would probably like them. To me he just sees Mike Love. If he were around Carl and Dennis back in the day they might have got on well. Then again, maybe not.
Ciaran McHale The whole appetite album was great. I know the typical 4 that get played, but ask guns fans about rocket queen, mr.brownstone, night train, estranged, you could be mine, civil war, dead horse, etc.. They were the biggest band for a few years for a reason.
but there's 0 with such an epic rock attitude tho, and I love a lot of american bands, but no one as such a rock attitude as Liam's in the last 30 years
I like Oasis but there are so many american bands that are better and not so POP sounding like Oasis. : Jimi Hendix, The Doors, The Stooges, The Replacements, Pixies, Sonic Youth, R.e.m., Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the machine, System of a Down, Korn, Aerosmith, GunsnRoses, ETC. Not to mention RocknRoll started in America in the 50s.
the beatles, the who, the rolling stones, black sabbath, motorhead, led zepplin, iron maiden, the cure, the sex pistols, the clash, queen are all better than american bands.
rock and roll started in america, yes, but its become more like european CLASSICAL music. freddie mercury, paul mccartney etc were influenced by classical composers like beethoven and mozart (listen to bohemian rhapsody or eleanor rigby)
I'm from the UK and even though, for such a tiny place my homeland has produced some great music; America has produced vast amounts more great music.UK cannot match the flamboyance of bands like RHCP or the sheer lavishness of Mars Volta. Punk may have started in the UK but American bands did it better... I dont mean to say there aren't great UK bands because obviously there are (Sabbath, Maiden, Queen etc) but overall the US pips us in the rock charts I feel. Dance music however, UK is nu1!
This is really sad to watch: blink 182 and oasis, two bands that were huge at the same time, now Noel is still a rock n roll star but Mark is a nobody who has his own show
The audience won't have had a clue who The Stone Roses are.
I doubt the host did either
Noel always comes across and genuine and witty, sort of person you could have a session with in a pub. I like that Mark hasn't lost his wide eyed enthusiasm.
It's weird seeing two of my favourite musicians having a conversation like this
Is the interviewer a musician?
Jules 1997 mark hoppus from blink 182
i'm from germany and i love noel's sarcasm and his humor. he's so brutally honest and just tells it like is, no matter what and where! ;-)
Massive blink and oasis fan, this is weird.
Well i can understand liking oasis.
@@HitchHikersBlues Well i can understand liking blink
@@ethanthebigmuscleman Well then you are a loser.
@@commonzac lmao
ethan97 I play. Blink was one of my introductions to punk funny enough, and a couple of the first songs I learned to play on guitar.
Say hello the king of pop punk and the king of 90s rock n roll

This is funniest interview I've ever seen. Seeing people get annoyed by it makes it even funnier.
Noel Gallagher is only arrogant if you don't get sarcasm and you've never met anyone from Manchester.
a tip: you can watch movies on flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Russell Cairo yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for since december myself :D
And if he is arrogant, who cares?
He's extremely witty
Brilliant man
Noel makes me laugh every time
Great interview! You may not like (or hate) blink 182 but you gotta admit Mark is a great interviewer.
You don't choose your team, Mark! You're born into. Come on City!
But weren't you a Chelsea fan before 2010
He must have come to his senses then
He must have come to his senses then
Or, you can choose to think about what you like, you know, for educated reasons and not be victim to dictatorship.
And that is just from the top of my head.
I'm American and I fucking love British humor and TV shows. Keep up the good work! Btw, Top Gear, Doctor Who, and The Office are amazing...
He is so amazing.

Another clear case of a fan who only got into guitar music because of the Oasis fashion movement!
I hear Noel saying Blink 182 is dogshit. Anybody else?

He is the only one who can diss me and my favourite football team while not making me pissed off. :D
Noel seems subtly annoyed by Hoppus and provides most if not all the cheek and elegant rancor. Lovely stuff. Ctid
This is brilliant. but its a shame that only Hoppus understood the City references
LMFAO ''wherever you're taken to first, that's it. You can't change then...it's kind of a rule'' ahhahahahaha
he wasnt really sarcastic, he was to the point about everything
Damon Albarn is a Chelsea fan.
if i was in that crowd i wouldve pissed myself laughing :P
One Direction have had number 1's etc, does that make them a good band? Also I wouldn't class Glasto as a 'rock' festival.
