My uncle, my mother's brother, used to listen to Paul Harvey every day. He told me Paul Harvey was the best and most intelligent person I could listen to. Back then I didn't believe him but now that I am older I see he was right and I now search out Paul Harvey on TH-cam. His wisdon, insights and advise are much needed today. Maybe more than ever.

I listened this this man during days and days of my childhood. We would sit down and eat lunch and GrandPa would turn it on and demand silence. And quietly we would sit there. Passing lunch between the family. And listen on edge to each word Mr Harvey would say. I never thought much about it as a child. But now almost 60. I miss a sane voice in todays Media. Someone that like Mr Harvey shared with you a down to earth and even into our Fiber Story that had meaning and content. And a lesson to be learned. FOOD for thought. So not only did we Feed our body's while he chatted away on the Radio we feed our brains with positive thoughts. I truly miss a radio personality that was so great at the time. And only realized once gone. Its truly a shame we have lost this man. Cause we need more like him sharing and making you think. And think about daily life and how to treat your fellow man. Thank you for your many years Mr Harvey. There are us out here that do miss your voice crackling across our RCA radio....and sharing a simply meal while you feed our brains with positive and meaningful thoughts. You are dearly missed.

Mr Harvey was the voice of the principles America was built on love. And respect for God and Country, common Decency, honesty, integrity, hardwork ethic, moral compass, All necessary to live a good life in America. Even when I was more to the left than I am now, I still listened to Paul Harvey for many years. This man always told the truth (at least everytime I listened to him). Now, as I am older, I can understand his news and comment alot more than I was able to while he was still alive. I was born too late. I still listen to recordings where I can. Mr. Harvey was one of the greats.
I still remember the silence at 9:00am every week day at first break. Coffee poured peanut butter and jelly out and all at full attention. I miss that part of my life. Simpler times and people with open minds even though we were called closed minded. I still remember some of the same stories from my grandma that were along the same lines as Paul Harvey.... How I miss those days......
I worked in radio as a young man and met Paul Harvey twice!He was my hero and our station carried hisbroadcast. I never missed his 830am and noon newscasts HiS voice and moral outlook are an inspiration to me! May God grant him peace!
I listened to him at noon whenever I could. Each day I looked at the clock and if I saw it was 10 after 12 and missed his broadcast, I felt my day wasn't complete. Sure miss him, but get to spend eternity with him. I'll bet he'll have some more stories to tell!

@@pjj9491 that's very interesting .and that is what is hard to know, because he didn't have any official "arena" where he would have had to reach young people, that were 20 or younger. people that are too young, it's over their heads, cuz they don't have enough background to appreciate the message of somebody like a Paul Harvey. that's where being able to modify your choice of words to reach somebody that has no clue what you mean, but be able to clarify it for them anyway, by reaching them through an intuitive understanding of how to communicate with them, is a tremendous and RARE talent. But it's hard to know how many people like yourself were listening to him at the time, and had a Experience such as yours.

I grew up listening to Paul Harvey in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. This man was truly loved by all who listened to him, especially "The rest of the story" stories that he told. Although I don't agree with everything he says anymore, I respect and admire the way and why he said it. No judgement. No condemnation. Facts and history recited with dramatic eloquence. You knew exactly how he felt about it without his actually saying it, yet saying it with pauses, inflections and intonement. What a master of the spoken word. The Bard of the 20th Century.
I had forgotten but I used to time my lunch around Paul Harvey, I listened to him on the AM truck radio wherever I was working in strip mines in Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. I would eat my sandwiches that my wife had made me and listen to Mr. Harvey on WIVK out of Knoxville. I was born in 96' and I am an Eagle Scout with a fantastic work ethic as pointed out by previous employers and friends. I know hard work especially the kind where you drip buckets and have to drink water almost every minute so you don't pass out. I had forgotten but I used to time my lunch around Paul Harvey, I listened to him on the AM truck radio wherever I was working in strip mines in Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. I would eat my sandwiches that my wife had made me and listen to Mr. Harvey on WIVK out of Knoxville.
Simple wisdom that we need more of today, rather than the SJW victim hood BS that so many idiots are espousing.

No matter where I was or what I was doing, at 12:00 sharp I'd turn on the radio to the channel that broadcast Paul Harvey and just listen. His words were wisdom and "The Rest of the Story" was either educational or funny. Miss him dearly, but thanks to people like you Arthur Tavares, Jr, I can still hear his voice and stories. Thank you

When I viewed the news on TV ,...or heard it on Radio, I watched and listened. But......when I listened to Paul Harvey, I "saw" the news.
Loved listening to him on the radio.
Today's journalists can't hold a candle to what this man says he tells it how it is and like it is tells the whole story and nothing but the whole story they don't make good journalist like Paul Harvey anymore I used to listen to this guy on 107.5 Arkansas country radio station everyday
Hello Elsa a young man in the 80s I would listen to Paul Harvey and would feel much better after listening to his wisdom I miss him dearly. The advertising that Paul Harvey did just wasn't there because he needed sponsors you had to win his approval and his approval showed up and everything he talked about I miss him
the definition of journalist has changed since this great man....nowadays they call themselves journalists but they are just sensationalistic overpaid liars out for ratings....none of these talk show idiots or news people would make a pimple on his ass....rip sir
I could remember listening to Paul Harvey riding in the tractor with my dad his rest of the story was so instilled into me as a child as I lost my father in 2017 this is one thing that I remember as a child that I shared with my dad RIP

I was born in 96' and I am an Eagle Scout with a fantastic work ethic as pointed out by previous employers and friends. I know hard work especially the kind where you drip buckets and have to drink water almost every minute so you don't pass out. I wish everyone could have the same work ethic I do, than maybe we could turn this country around.
Rest in peace Paul.... You were and still are an icon.... You gave us faith, wisdom, hope, and were a beacon for good men to look towards for inspiration... You grew up in humble meager surroundings and learned from that about work... I hope when I cross over to the other side as you have done that I will have the opportunity to sit and visit with you about your life, your work, and how much you meant to me as a child growing up.... I was so young and naive I could never keep up with these broadcasts but my father played them often, and even all these years I still find a soothing peace in this man's voice. Even as it plays in the background all I hear is the peanuts "wom wop wom" but it's so peacefull
