I'm surprised this type/genre of game isn't absolutely everywhere. The amount of fun I have with learning little details of the characters by looking at their belongings in a setting like this is completely unmatched. I had so much fun just watching this, could you imagine a whole entire game of different scenarios like this. I would buy that game in a heartbeat!
I think the full version of this game it's going to be like that once it releases, the steam page says "Set in the near future, you play as a trainee in pursuit of becoming a licensed investigator. You are given a number of challenging case files. Your goal is to not only pass, but ace them!"
As someone who is left-handed, no one ever sets out cutlery differently for me. *I* don’t set it out differently. The cup moving to the left makes more sense as a clue. Also, if you’re left-handed at a table full of right-handed people, you’ll want to sit on one of the ends, to the left of everyone else, so you don’t bump elbows (cuz that’s annoying as hell).
Just me and my dad are left handed. When setting the table I have the habit of setting it up for those that are right handed and special setups for us. When we go out eating anywhere my family pokes fun at it. The oddball has to sit at the end lol
It was kinda obvious Clara was killed just going off the seating. She's the host and the birthday girl. Almost always she'll sit at the head of the table in such a scenario.
Not to mention that according to the note on the fridge, Clara wasn't in her house while the table was being set as she she wrote that she's out shopping and asking Henry to set the table himself. So Jenny was in Clara and Henry's house with Henry alone since she had the change to spike Clara's drink, which is just a despicable thing to do; to bring your mistress into the home you share with your wife
I never understood why people drink just a glass that’s half full, like why don’t you fill it up more? I never understood it. I drink my glasses full, people look at me like an alcoholic or maybe I’m having a bad day, when really it just feels weird to not fill it up.
@@skellybeeb I can only answer for myself, and I might be weird, but when I have good wine I enjoy smelling it as much as drinking it. A glass with the right shape (larger at the bottom) will allow all of the aromas the gather in the empty part of the glass, for maximum smelling pleasure ^^ If I'm drinking cheap and uninteresting wine, just pour it all the way to the top, you won't have to refill my glass as often then !

Since it showed the glass moved to the left on Jenny's tablesetting, I wonder if that means she put the pills in her own glass of wine and switched glasses with Clara. Jenny and Clara's glasses ended up being close to each other!
That's what I thought too! They made it obvious that the glass placement switched, Jenny is not left-handed, so why would she do that unless she quickly replaced them?

Why would they only mention Ed as left handed if they have two left handed friends. I thought Jenny moving her glass to the left was to move it further out of reach, so she wouldn’t instinctively grab it and drink from it
I just now notice that they have Da Vinci wine, they had the same brand of wine at the Painscreek Killings' house! I was there at the stream and it was so much fun trying to figure it out, can't wait for the whole game

Jenny wasn't pregnant, Clara was. The abortion clinic appointment was in the house calendar. Henry had the clinic business card because he didn't want a baby with Clara as he was cheating with Jenny. He told Jenny about Clara's pregnancy and that's why Jenny killed Clara.
When I first played through, I thought Jenny was in seat 1 because no wine meaning she was pregnant and not drinking. I thought Ed was in seat 2 because the wine glass was moved to the left. Table settings do not change places because someone is left handed, so the glass would have originally have been on the right. You would also seat a left handed person to the left most setting, so spot 2 made the most sense since spot 5 (left most seat on the other side) was set for Jake with the OJ. The place settings all being backwards drove me batty though. Apparently, table etiquette got in my way for my original run through of the game. 😆

There’s a difference between how to cut and eat food (according to official etiquette) depending on being in Europe or the US. Apparently, in Europe, it’s more common that the knife stays in the right hand, and the fork stays in the left. In America, it’s more common to cut with the knife in the right hand as well, but then put the knife down, switch the fork to the right hand, and pick up the cut piece. Just a fun little fact! 🙂

Jenny killed Clara. The reason the seat is tipped over is probably because she pretended to act surprised to cover it up or she ran after it happened. She did leave her purse behind, so a quick exit makes sense. Gab got 5 out of 5 correct. She explains it all at the end. There really is no debate here.
I love these kinds of games! Reminds me of a DS game called Hotel Dusk room 215. You’re an detective, and have to take notes to solve stuff. The game company also made a game called Trace memory. Another detective style game. I really recommend them both.

Depends on the person in recovery. As a recovering alcoholic myself, I don't mind if people drink around me. It's my own personal choice to not drink, and as long as people are respectful, everything is fine.
Idk wouldn’t it also be rude to ask everyone not to drink even though they have no issues with alcohol? Imo recovering alcoholics are always going to encounter situations where they are around alcohol or around people drinking. They can try to limit these situations but at the end of the day they will just have to find the strength within themselves to stay strong in these situations. Idk just my opinion as someone with lots of addiction in my family

I played this with a couple friends a little bit back and it was so much fun as a group activity. I hope to see more like this! Also, we got hooked up on the killer the exact same way, but thinking about it now it makes more sense. I think we denounced the real killer because of one of the clues in the garbage.

Clara was the victim. Edwin is left-handed and Clara left a note to henry to set the table accordingly. Edwin is the missing guest. Jake's card to Clara mentions support through their addiction. Clara's note to Henry asks that he give her cousin orange juice as they do not drink alcohol. Jake is claras cousin and sits in seat 5. Henry had an abortion clinic card in his wallet. It's possible he got his mistress, Jenny, pregnant and pushed her to have an abortion. The place setting at seat 2 has a full wine glass. Whoever was sitting there was served wine but didn't drink any. If Jenny did not get an abortion she wouldn't drink alcohol. The murder weapon was an overdose of medication found in Clara and Henry's trash can. The wine glass at seat 2 was also moved to the left. This could mean that they were left-handed but the knife was on the right side of the plate, so it's inconclusive. Another possibility is that the person at seat 2 poisoned their glass and discreetly swapped glasses with Clara. Here's what I don't get. The chairs. If Jenny sat in chair 2 and purposely killed Clara why would she have such a big reaction? Was she just acting? Or was it Henry? Was he so unhappy in his relationship that he killed her? Wait this is the Painscreek Killings guys? Awesome! And it makes sense lol, I also loved the cultural miasma that was Painscreek. I quickly noticed that this was meant to be a Western apartment, but the dinner party was being served with a hot pot.
Just a little thing. AA or NA, you've never recovered. Recovery is permanent. It's a lifelong disorder. That doesn't mean you don't get better, but you always have to be careful and aware. People can relapse 20+ years into recovery. I'm speaking from personal experience. 3 years recovery/sobriety.
I used flashlight to search through dark places, it helped me find drawers (you can find some interesting things there) in the cabinet under the calendar.
literally the only thing in the drawers next to the phone is a paper that says the place Jenny and Claras husband went to was an expensive 5 star resturaunt
@@thisisaperson660 I don't remember if the parking ticket has a location written on it, but still that restaurant phone numbers sheet is a clue. Maybe not the most important one, but I think players would like to find every clue in the game (I didn't want to spoil what the clue is in my comment).

I am right handed but always have my drink to my left. I think I do this because I will forget my drink is there so if I go for something with my right hand I will not knock my drink down.
This was so enjoyable to watch! I am all about solving the mysteries. I honestly have never been into gaming but thoroughly enjoy every single one of your videos.
The way you are supposed to know that Henry did not do it was the doctor appointment on his appointment was not with the doctor that prescribed the drug. Also there was initials on the purse.
As a lefty, my cutlery is in my left hand so I put my drink on the right. However being a certain handedness doesn’t always mean you eat with the same hand! This game is neat to try to include such details though.
This took me 10 mins to get correct but I’m still early in the video and I think the only placement that is not touched is for the leftie, as a leftie myself you would typically use the fork in your other hand as leverage so to speak and use your dominant hand to cut said food… All the other placements have the knife on the right side meaning most of them are probably right handed and the note did say to expect the leftie so I don’t think it was them unless they just didn’t eat and did the ol’ stabby for some reason.. Watch me eat my words 🫠 6:08
Me as a lefty SCREAMING ED for the missing seat haha. Before I even saw the fridge note, I was looking at the knives on the dishes. If you’re right handed, your knife will be oriented on the right.
My STRESS trying to shout at the screen that Ed didn't show bc of the cutlery. Knife is held in dominant had bc that is the strongest hand for cutting. Right hand setting of a table (fork on left, knife on right) is bc most people are right handed. In proper etiquette the host should always inquire about people needing accomodation, left handedness included. Glad you figured it out in the end :D

I had no idea that table settings were different for left/right handed people until a couple of years ago. Its daft really; Im right handed but use cutlery left handed. The reason for this is that my nana was left handed so taught my mam to use cutlery as she did, my mam then taught me the same way. But who cares as long as you can eat food haha. Love this game already, looking forward to seeing how they develop it further.

The reason Jenny’s glass was on the opposite side of everyone else’s was so it would be easier for her to swap her contaminated glass with Clara’s. If she sits her glass right next to Clara’s and then grabs Clara’s instead of hers….
I like the extreme overanalysis of the plate settings for seat 1 even though the obvious clue is that the plate is clean when the other 4 plates are not.
5:41, myself and most lefties I know put our drinks on the right so that we don't knock them over but the setting next to it would totally be a lefty because when I set tables I have to consciously remember to put the forks on the left hand side because you right-handed people pick up forks with your left hand and would use your right hand to cut whereas most of us lefties will put the knife on the left hand side because we're going to cut with it.
Interesting. I'm right handed. I hold the fork with my left hand, cut with the right hand, then put down the utensils and switch- using the fork in my right hand to eat.

It was really confusing for the left-handed thing bc yeah the glass on the left made sense but then it was not even the person they said was left handed (Ed), so why set it like that if we don't know that jenny is left handed, also I'm left handed and usually right handed persons do set the fork on the right as that's where they use it but I personally set it opposite
I thought the twist would be that Clara had poisoned Jenny's glass, Jenny somehow got wind of her scheme (maybe because the pill bottle is in a trash bin easily accessed by any party member) and Jenny switched the glasses. Meaning Clara would have accidentally killed herself.
Someone needs to tell the devs that there is no VAT in the US. Minor quibble aside, this definitely looks like my kind of game, I'll definitely be picking it up.
I was late for the stream, but I played it myself and backed it immediately! Some of the hints and setup was a bit misleading and unintuitive for me, but I loved it nonetheless! (I didn’t know what AA was and assumed that Edwin could be a girls name…)

Wait this is the Painscreek Killings guys? Awesome! And it makes sense lol, I also loved the cultural miasma that was Painscreek. I quickly noticed that this was meant to be a Western apartment, but the dinner party was being served with a hot pot.
Just a little thing. AA or NA, you've never recovered. Recovery is permanent. It's a lifelong disorder. That doesn't mean you don't get better, but you always have to be careful and aware. People can relapse 20+ years into recovery. I'm speaking from personal experience. 3 years recovery/sobriety.

I played this demo a while ago and I loved it! It goes right along with the CSI classes I was taking the past year. It's so much fun!

I used flashlight to search through dark places, it helped me find drawers (you can find some interesting things there) in the cabinet under the calendar.
literally the only thing in the drawers next to the phone is a paper that says the place Jenny and Claras husband went to was an expensive 5 star resturaunt
@@thisisaperson660 I don't remember if the parking ticket has a location written on it, but still that restaurant phone numbers sheet is a clue. Maybe not the most important one, but I think players would like to find every clue in the game (I didn't want to spoil what the clue is in my comment).

I am right handed but always have my drink to my left. I think I do this because I will forget my drink is there so if I go for something with my right hand I will not knock my drink down.

I watched this on stream and I was excited to watch it again here. I think that this was really cool and I would definitely watch and play another!
As a lefty, my cutlery is in my left hand so I put my drink on the right. However being a certain handedness doesn’t always mean you eat with the same hand! This game is neat to try to include such details though.
This took me 10 mins to get correct but I’m still early in the video and I think the only placement that is not touched is for the leftie, as a leftie myself you would typically use the fork in your other hand as leverage so to speak and use your dominant hand to cut said food… All the other placements have the knife on the right side meaning most of them are probably right handed and the note did say to expect the leftie so I don’t think it was them unless they just didn’t eat and did the ol’ stabby for some reason.. Me as a lefty SCREAMING ED for the missing seat haha. Before I even saw the fridge note, I was looking at the knives on the dishes. If you’re right handed, your knife will be oriented on the right.
My STRESS trying to shout at the screen that Ed didn't show bc of the cutlery. Knife is held in dominant had bc that is the strongest hand for cutting. Right hand setting of a table (fork on left, knife on right) is bc most people are right handed. In proper etiquette the host should always inquire about people needing accomodation, left handedness included. Glad you figured it out in the end :D

I had no idea that table settings were different for left/right handed people until a couple of years ago. Its daft really; Im right handed but use cutlery left handed. The reason for this is that my nana was left handed so taught my mam to use cutlery as she did, my mam then taught me the same way. But who cares as long as you can eat food haha. Love this game already, looking forward to seeing how they develop it further.

The reason Jenny’s glass was on the opposite side of everyone else’s was so it would be easier for her to swap her contaminated glass with Clara’s. If she sits her glass right next to Clara’s and then grabs Clara’s instead of hers….

I like the extreme overanalysis of the plate settings for seat 1 even though the obvious clue is that the plate is clean when the other 4 plates are not.
5:41, myself and most lefties I know put our drinks on the right so that we don't knock them over but the setting next to it would totally be a lefty because when I set tables I have to consciously remember to put the forks on the left hand side because you right-handed people pick up forks with your left hand and would use your right hand to cut whereas most of us lefties will put the knife on the left hand side because we're going to cut with it.
Interesting. I'm right handed. I hold the fork with my left hand, cut with the right hand, then put down the utensils and switch- using the fork in my right hand to eat.

I got excited to see Forest Hills NY. I used to live there as a kid.
It was really confusing for the left-handed thing bc yeah the glass on the left made sense but then it was not even the person they said was left handed (Ed), so why set it like that if we don't know that jenny is left handed, also I'm left handed and usually right handed persons do set the fork on the right as that's where they use it but I personally set it opposite

I thought the twist would be that Clara had poisoned Jenny's glass, Jenny somehow got wind of her scheme (maybe because the pill bottle is in a trash bin easily accessed by any party member) and Jenny switched the glasses. Meaning Clara would have accidentally killed herself.

when you went crouching i imagined the investigator walking while in the squated position. that was pretty funny
I was late for the stream, but I played it myself and backed it immediately! Some of the hints and setup was a bit misleading and unintuitive for me, but I loved it nonetheless! (I didn’t know what AA was and assumed that Edwin could be a girls name…)
