    From my understanding, the train jerking was caused from wheelslips during wet weather. Very normal for all the other trains also.

    This is my first time to see the replacement train in my lifetime and I excitingly take the hole ride towards psr. The first thing surprising me is the door closing announcement, which sound similar to the one used on CCL and also being used decade ago. The second moment is also memorial for me when the train heading towards PSR departuring the Tanah merah with c151 on the middle plf together, a very touched moment. Third thing to mention is the jerking fault when heading west bound. I just heard of this after viewing some videos on the debut day, just hope that they can fix this as soon as possible and make it comfortable and safe for commuters:D

    The caution sign is cool, but it can be a bit annoying. Because the announcement “This train service will end at Joo Koon”. Is it to warn passengers or to give advise? I can understand if lets just say the emergency button is activated and the train service is delayed and there’s a caution sign. But I don’t think there’s a need to have the caution sign on the transfer announcements e.g., Change at the next station for the Downtown Line.

    For me I have been always been looking at the order of which door closes first, where I would expect that the train doors closes first, then the platform doors.
    I am quite disappointed that the doors on the R151s close later than the platform doors compared to the other models (overground only, the very unreliable underground PSD always closes first 💀). Oh, and as you have pointed out, they always move and open (sometimes wider than the other models) when the train jerks, presuming that they aren’t fixed when closed, and that’s a big red flag in safety.
    I would honestly fix these issues if I was LTA but knowing them they will do some ‘suspicious stuff’ 🤦🏻‍♂.

    Attention, the R151 uses the Bombardier (Alstom) Mitrac SiC VVVF, not IGBT.
    Apart from Japan and Stockholm it is the only network to have it.
    -For the seat down, it's like explaining to increase the capacity of the trains.
    The green line is 6 cars long, which for a long line literally crossing the whole country from east to west is not much. In addition, it serves the airport and the city center, and other popular places.
    I don't know if the stations were originally sized for longer trainsets, but 8 or 10 car trainsets are necessary.
    Extending the stations is expensive. In the meantime, we are artificially increasing the capacity of the trains.
    Moreover, being in Paris, I can tell you that having too many seats makes the trains infernal at rush hour (bi-level train or not)
    -For the problem of shaking and doors.
    Suspension? possible but not certain.
    But this happens on acceleration and the door will move better if a force in its axis is present. It is therefore probably a longitudinal movement rather than a vertical one. I'm leaning more towards a jerk linked to traction which cuts off and resumes quickly or wheelspin. The doors peeling off, the associated sensor is triggered and orders emergency braking, and the associated message believing it has an opening in progress.
    The locking system will be reviewed after verification. For jerks during traction...tests and modifications will take place.

    I think the main reason why this Mitrac system sounds like a 13000 series train is because this is one of the first MITRAC systems to use SiC instead of a traditional IGBT. But I highly doubt it's because of use of Mitsubishi technology.

    Even though this train looks pretty modern, i think there could be some improvements which can be trialed to be placed on for future batches of r151 and trainsets.... first is the seats. I think they could make the seats more comfortable by adding in cushions like seoul metro, korail and japan railway are doing. Secondly, i think they should add more seats instead of decreasing no of seats like c151, if they removed the emergency button between each side of the door, they could probably add 1 or 2 more seats. For priority seats, i feel like they should be at the 4 sides of each car that way it could be more organised to tell which are priority seats and probably reduce the arguments between ppl fighting for the seats. Thirdly this thing is also a suggestion is to do smth similar to the 3rd batch seoul metro 2000 series train. They could add the led lights at the side of each doors like: green (door open), yellow and flashing (door closing), red (door closed). Finally, i reccomend adding doors to connect each carriage as uk standing in between carriages is dangerous as when train turns, they have a chance of falling and they cant grab anything so adding doors will make sure ppls dun stay in them. All in all are just feedback and hopefully lta can use this to improve the newer batches of r151.

    • @sbs2828s
      @sbs2828s  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      those are really good opinions, but the lta will forever say no to fabric seats due to the maintenance issues (seats wont stay clean for long unlike japan as singaporeans prob wont really bother to keep the seats clean), a reason why plastic seats were voted for and implemented when the MRT first opened in 1987.
      decreasing the seats is meant to increase train capacity, so i can see why the LTA removed seats on the r151.
      doors in between gangways aren't really necessary in my opinion, as people don't really lose balance at turns that easily, and it isn't worth the extra cost and maintenance

    • @ItsRabootOfficial
      @ItsRabootOfficial ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sbs2828s for me i still think they should implement the priority seats at the 4 sides of the train instead of putting them at each side of the door on a long row as u seen many cases of ppl fighting over these seats so giving a dedicated priority seats will force the ppl to seat at the normal seats instead of hogging up the priority seats. The reason why i want to put seats as based on this video, i see lots of ppl rather have seats than more standing space. There is one thing i forgotten to point out is to put tv screens at the place where they put the train maps and paper advertising that way the screen can show the whole map instead of an advertising screen and blocking the map and advertising and tv shows have their own screen. Tbh actually lots of my suggestions are actually based on the korail and seoul metropolitan subway system as i still see a lot of potential in sg mrt system that could use some of the things that the seoul metropolitan system have. Btw now i see why seoul metro decided to remove cushions seat from their 3rd batch of new 2000 series. Thanks for telling me about the cushions and see if my other suggestions would be good for the mrt.

      "They could add the led lights at the side of each doors like: green (door open), yellow and flashing (door closing), red (door closed)"
      Yes, this exists on the MPM 10 in Montreal or on the platform doors of line 4 in Paris (which is in the process of completing its full automation).
      This has a downside (it may not exist in Singapore). People with earphones screwed into their ears, seeing the orange light, they start running, and block the doors of the train to get on.
      The Mp14 uses a similar system inside the train. Some lights near the doors change from classic white lighting to orange when closing the doors. This is less visible from the outside, but quite well inside.

    • @ItsRabootOfficial
      @ItsRabootOfficial ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lodai974 For SG, I think usually only during peak hrs or when ppl in a rush, they would rush into the train but I think this is a problem all big cities need to adapt. Like take Tokyo trains for example, ppl would usually rush in but the conductor would usually find the perfect time to shut the door b4 another big crowd comes. For the LED Lights, I am going to use Seoul Line 2 where all their newer rolling stocks use this LED lights. But as long as the conductor can shut the door on time, its fine but for Singapore since they usually are a OneMan team, the driver would usually shut doors by themselves and drive the train also.

      Add on: I agree that the ads on the DRMD can be paused temporarily, or even omitted completely so that the full EWL route can be shown.
      As for the 72 seats being sacrificed, there needs to be some give-and-take if we are going to make the MRTs more inclusive for passengers on wheelchairs, parents with baby strollers and those with foldable bicycles.
      I didn't get to see the train debut (as I was sleeping and preparing for work 😂) but overall, from what I heard, the ride is pretty good and the trains seem quieter than the older stocks.
