You can start fishing when you are younger you just don’t need a fishing licence until you’re 16, don’t wait fishing is fun and you start asap

Nice session even if the fish were small. I made it out to Kurnell on the weekend in the kayak. Landed two fish before the boat traffic got too much.

A couple of spots for you to try for whiting and flathead. Narrabeen Lake near the caravan park...wait till after Christmas due to the crowds there. And Mainbar nr Bundeena....Mainbar (In Port Hacking south side) only on low tide to expose the sandflats, and flick the dropoffs.. you can also pump your own nippers there...I have only "baitfished" in those locations but I'd say they would really fire with lures...Great video as always Cheers mate..

sick video its so satisfying to land whiting on lures no matter what size. I have gotten some good ones on 70mm suga pens but didnt think a crankbait would work that well might have to try it out sometime haha

@@stephencyster Yeah I like the way they look, almost like a running shoe. They do pick up a bit of sand over time but most of it can be washed out in seconds after taking the shoe off. 👍

Yes, modify if necessary although as they have the range in smaller sizes, it would be more straightforward to change to those lures instead

Shroom why didnt you use the atomic hardz deep dive or top water?
Hi Omar, the surface was too choppy for surface floating lures because they usually don't entice fish in that situation. The atomics would have worked just as well as the shallow fat dog here 👍

Just out of curiosity, is there a method to your madness with the reel handle? I usually fish either side as well but I carry a spare rod n reel(both spinning and baitcaster). Much respect from the states(socal).
Thank you Nagato! Would love to fish Socal one day. I change handle sides depending on the action I want to impart and also the wind direction. For example, if I cast to the right and work the lures back to me at waist level, it's easier to work the lures with rod in right hand pushing against it than pulling it when rod is in left hand. I hope that makes sense! 👍

@@nagatouzumaki8906 Nice, bream would be the first fish you'll catch here haha. Do you mean yellowtail (yakka) or kingfish? I think you guys call it yellow tail amberjack.
So bream is like our mackerals in the states, there's an abundance of em. Yellowtail as in the kingfish you catch. We just call em yellowtail as there's no other fish with that name. We have yellowfin(tuna, croakers).
Yeah, bream is probably the most commonly targeted species out there. I see, I have to get used to the names. Different places in the world call fish different names.
