Nice vid Shroom, excellent flattie and bream action, I just returned from six days in lakes entrance in Vic where I spent five days fishing with only two bites and only got 4 nice sized salmon (including my PB 45cm on 1-4kg rod, 6lb braid , 8lb leader) and 1 4in flattie on a 3.5in soft plastic on the forth day all due to huge amounts of rain they received 3 or 4 weeks ago, so the rain out there apparently affects fish numbers entering the lake system, but a great time was still had exploring a few other areas around east Gippsland, Cheers.

@Shroom I once had a dream where I was halfway up a narrow gorge with a river down below with huge salmon swimming in pools. I picked up a large rock to kill one, and the fish all looked up at me. I could see they were intelligent. I was ashamed and put down the rock. Then I walked on some rope bridges and went into a large animal enclosure. I got trapped in there by a giant poisonous snake and couldn't move even though the snake was only inches away. Then I woke up, very relieved. Maybe they were fish Gods in the spirit world.

Hey shroom what do u check on your leader to ensure u don’t lose the fish? Just for creases or nicks? When would you know if u need to retie a loop knot

I use my fingers and I run it along the leader especially near the lure knot. You can feel it rough or a small nick - easier to feel along the leader but hard if it's at the knot itself. Any sort of inconsistency means it's time to retie that knot. If you're not sure, after every flathead there's a high chance of needing to

Yes Jacob, without knowing what you're exact issue may be, try slowing down your retrieve. More and longer pauses and make the hops smaller. It will definitely help
