😅That is so 500 2 stroker, when you get on a Cr or kx500 on a wet cold muddy day and you think "This monsters gonna try murdering me" 🤠🤟 in the 80s i had a kx500 and stopping that beast in a wood at 70mph was a nightmare 😅 🤠🙏 ,nowadays they got amazing brakes
The world of competition hot saws is insane. Went to a little competition in Oregon back in 2003 and there was a dude with a 350 small block attached to a saw. I thought it was a gimmick until he and another man lifted it and cut a log in about half a second. Absolutely wild.
Thanks for posting Ken. This hot saw definitely needs some exposure from PNW racing days long past. World record holder in hot start 27 inch single cut 2.25 seconds.
HOW COOL!!! Love watching stuff like this. Here in the deep south, we don't have much stuff like this (or at least to my knowledge I haven't heard of this, but I have seen it on TV). Thank you and the saw owner, Eric for sharing that with us!
Awesome machine. For people who take firewood and lumber seriously they'll hover around the 73-80cc range so they'll have a good all-arounder so it's not too heavy but have choice for bar lengths and typically keep something in the 45-55cc range on hand as liming saws. When you're dealing with the big trees the biggest mass produced saws you can buy are in the 90-120cc range. A Stihl MS880 Magnum being 120cc goes for $2,000 depending on which bar you go for. If I can't afford an MS880 couldn't imagine paying the money for this thing. 😁
hot saws are wild...led builds some wild hot saw motors. The 310s do more than that for hp..they use the CPI cylinders. the 310s and 330s are crazy light. what a bad ass saw.
Torque! I loved riding the YZ 465 back in the early 80’s but a chainsaw! The Torque thru your arms when that 500 hits the power band must be terrifying.
Sr handled that beast like it was built for him! what a boss! what a bad ass machine straight through a log like a knife through butter! i don't know if i'd have the balls for that
Wow What a little monster just imagine what that thing would be like to start if it had a .020 squish band on it I can tell it will run circles around my ported and polished Stihl 660s and 880s somebody's gonna be cutting their firewood in record time That beast is what you need if you're gonna buck up a giant redwood put a 25-ft bar on it and let her eat she'll still have plenty of horsepower left over no need for a skip tooth chain
Hang on a minute.. So this gentleman is rocking a CR500 hell saw and (I think) rolling a Volvo station wagon? Interesting dude! Knows his onions, as they say.
YESSSS Amazing 👌 saw !!! Favorite 2 stroke, I can never get enough cr500 .my 89 has been down for 4 yrs and can't wait any more Soon it will live again.😅
If the Texas Chainsaw Killer had that, his victims would have escaped ! Too heavy ! Great job. There are folks out there with wild minds ! Great video. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
That 1/2 inch square grind chain is rare as hens teeth , fun fact it is the only chain that will hog out material faster than .404 , I would be scared to see how much this baby would go for , would be nice in my collection 😍
that was epic cool. maybe you guys could help him with better starter design, finger compression release, coil retract spring pull starter !!! rule compliant. good day.
theres a crankcase pulse to carb this is so fkn mint is it just me or the cyl is different ah you know what it may be a 80s cr engine that head was a very cool custom piece what a treat i am in ct and would love to bring 2 bikes for you too see its a dream of mine to meet you id bring my 500 and a 250r love my hondas ride red hell yea brother braap braaap
If one doesn't appreciate this, well then they are probably dead...the last guy to have a chain come off. 0 to "Danger Wil Robinson!" in O 2 Fast!!! Great that the carrying case is a very understated Volvo waggy. Keep 'em guessing when pulling into the parking lot.
Never knew 2stroke can make ur physique so handsome broad shoulders while just holding dis epic powerful machine just not only da lean 2stroke racers God creates everybody beautiful
Damn you can't roll start a chainsaw lol There is replacement for displacement and it's called BOOST! And yes turbo 2 stroke is a thing if the turbo is post stinger! However with a single cylinder turbo motor you need at least a 4litre plenum 👌 Lots of snow mobile guys are going 2 stroke turbo. Everyone says it won't work but it does! You just can't run the turbo before the expansion chamber. Superchargers won't work on a Motorcross 2 stroke as it creates positive pressure before powerband so it pushes everything through the combustion chamber before it can light! But with a turbo 2 stroke the bike needs to be already in powerband BEFORE boost kicks in! And when he does the second even crazier powerband kicks in harder than the 2 stroke powerband! With a motocross bike though it's a lot of weight to add for almost uncontrollable power! Snowmobiles have the buffer of a CVT so they slip enough not to buck you off......in a dirt bike you'd have no chance on standard rear swing arm to keep the front wheel on the ground. Also they run counter weights now on bigbore 2 strokes and that eliminates the vibration which can inadvertently disastrous effects combined with that much power and vibration can lead to poor hand grip and resulting in incorrect throttle position and poor hand grip or arm pump. In would imagine a turbo 2 stroke with conventional gearbox would be a widow maker?
I've seen 250cc chainsaws but never a CR500 chainsaw...hey tell you what build a chainsaw that uses the Maico 700 engine...that would be sick as this one
I love the deep breaths the owner was taking before he started it. I know the feeling. That’s how I felt before each ride on my CR500 lol.
This chainsaw should sit next to all of the CR500's in a glass case, the fact that this exists is amazing, the guy that built this is a genius 👏
It's hard enough kicking my 500 over sometimes, I couldn't imagine a pull cord lol. Great job guys, big nuts Sr making a second pass.
Thanks 👍
It has lower compression obviously. Did u not actually watch the video?
@shawnsatterlee6035 eaven if it had 2:5 1 compression, if it fetched up half way thru, it would still pull ur fingernails off. And yes I watched both
I honestly think pulling over engines is easier than kicking.
I’ve pulled over twin 800cc engines that run on C16. Race engines.
The ported 500i is niceeee and full of comp
That's insane. I never would have even thought to even turn that into a chainsaw. LOVE TO SEE IT BECOME A LEAFBLOWER NEXT!!!
Bruh, that leafblower could make a small tornado. 😂

Hell Yes! That chainsaw has serious power. It cut through that log with no effort, and very fast! Put CR 500 engines in Everything!
Yes they did. And it was an American.
I appreciate you guys.
From England.
thats crazy that thing was cutting like butter on IDLE
Someone sat and thought, “I’ll make that 500 into a chainsaw “😅
Not someone, the guy in the video.
One of the coolest things I´ve seen in a while. Absolute monster.
HOW COOL!!! Love watching stuff like this. Here in the deep south, we don't have much stuff like this (or at least to my knowledge I haven't heard of this, but I have seen it on TV). Thank you and the saw owner, Eric for sharing that with us!
Nice chainsaw, but what really impressed me was the stone fence! Work of art (and lots of work!).
That's amazing ken senior, your definitely the hombre for that big bore ,
That looks dangerous as hell haha.
That’s some mean engineering there. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

What a awesome chainsaw 🤘
Two of my favorite things combined that's really cool!
hot saws are wild...led builds some wild hot saw motors. The 310s do more than that for hp..they use the CPI cylinders. the 310s and 330s are crazy light. what a bad ass saw.
That Dudes a Legit Bad Ass Start’n that thing By Hand🏁🏁🏁
My uncle up in Maine has one with a Yamaha 490 that he built. Pretty insane stuff! 💯

Love stuff like this, why do it? because we can! brilliant 👍
Well!...I didint expect that from that big 500 wow...cut through it like butter..literally holding it back while it cuts 😂..that was awesome
Great saw I notice it has no cooling must not need it for short runs. Thanks Ken a monster never be short of firewood ever again
Thats a terrifying beast right there! As soon as I saw it, the same concerns about that chain flying off came to mind...
He is so lucky knowing Ken, imagine looking at all those beautiful bikes and knowing the dude with the keys 🔑 🙏🤴 👑 🇺🇲⚡🇬🇧🪓🤠
You're right, never saw one of those before, Badass!
You are the king of the cr500's, I can not believe you are going to allow someone else to buy this?!! Thank cr500 chainsaw needs to be owned by you!
It is im buying it
Torque! I loved riding the YZ 465 back in the early 80’s but a chainsaw! The Torque thru your arms when that 500 hits the power band must be terrifying.

Thanks dude. Worth the wait ❤
Those things break ankles.... starting by hand, RESPECT! You couldn't pay me to stand near it with a chain on it though :D
That's awesome 😂😂 crazy but awesome
Now you need a new place in the corner of the museum for bad ass saws
I'm guessing kh1 500 Triple would be pretty badass but you'd have to have a 3 into 1 pipe. Bring it 😲
yeah and arms like swarzenegger to work with it lmao
Wow What a little monster just imagine what that thing would be like to start if it had a .020 squish band on it I can tell it will run circles around my ported and polished Stihl 660s and 880s somebody's gonna be cutting their firewood in record time That beast is what you need if you're gonna buck up a giant redwood put a 25-ft bar on it and let her eat she'll still have plenty of horsepower left over no need for a skip tooth chain
Someones gotta show this saw to Buckin' Billy :D
Great conversion piece! Hope you're able to buy it or have your guys build one!
america! best bikes ever

HOTSAW 🔥💯♥️💪😎
Now,I've got almost as many chainsaws as you do bikes. But I do not have a chainsaw with a 500cc bike motor on it!!!👍👊💪💪💪
Right on!
What a beautiful saw!
When you don't know how to port, you go 500cc 😂
There is no replacement for displacement.
Looking good Eric 👍

Now that's a manly saw!
Always nice to throw the bike juice in tools to take you away to a better time and place.
Gotta keep people guessing

King of hotsaws! 🤩
That's really cool
Wonder if he’s using a 3/8” or 404 chain? I use a 404 chain on my ported German 066.
I think he said he was using The old 1/2" Like they use on commercial mills and feller bunchers
Do it!! 700cc Log killa
Badass hot chain saw Kaplan 🗿👍
I've seen 250cc chainsaws but never a CR500 chainsaw...hey tell you what build a chainsaw that uses the Maico 700 engine...that would be sick as this one
