@@Agoncor Yup! Ride quality is ok, I don't know what setting it's on right now (I'll figure it out over Christmas) but it's definitely very stiff. Handles incredibly well, makes this heavy car feel much lighter. The movement of the body is very linear and predictable. The suspension definitely isn't on its softest setting, and when you've got a high tire pressure like they recommend for Teslas along with 20" rims and stiff springs, it's not gonna be a Lexus ride. But once I soften it, I'm sure it'll soak stuff up much better. Either way I personally like how it feels, and imo it's much better than the stock ride. Especially since you can customize it to your liking (height, stiffness/damping)
newbie question, do you need to rebuild Ohlins suspension for every couple of years? if yes, do you need to remove the suspension and send it to Ohlins for rebuilding?
There's nothing inherent to Ohlins that requires a rebuild. Technically automotive shocks are supposed to be serviced or replaced every few years depending on mileage. The benefit of ohlins, besides the adjustability, is that they're serviceable. Nearly all stock suspension is NOT serviceable, therefor requiring a shock replacement. To answer your second question, yes, it needs to come out to be serviced.
The difference between stock suspension and $3100 aftermarket suspension seems so minor. Seems like the logical move is to keep stock suspension. Thanks for saving me money.
@@kevinlock259 this was a model 3 on 20" aftermarket wheels and tires + lowered and it felt better than my model 3 which is stock height, stock 18's and that's not factoring in the improved handling
Thank you guys for amazing videos. Can you please suggest me - should I go for Ohlins RT or Ohlins GT Redwood Kit ? I need more comfy ride. Is there a big difference between these 2 kits ?
@@elbowablins5814 yeah but it’d be like double the price plus probably take up the frunk for the air compressor. Not worth the price and complexity for a slightly better ride than a top end coilovers
Late reply here, but just to be clear, the Redwoods GT kit should be MUCH more comfortable than the standard Ohlins R&T Kit. The spring rates on the R&T kit are nearly double. This is a comfort focused set, not performance.
FINALLY mine are being delivered next week, getting it installed Friday. Can't wait!
Do you have any update on your experience with the ride quality on the Öhlins ?

Not the case, but stock is cool
You guys said just a 10% difference, no?

Great video! Did you choose the tourning, sport, or race option springs? Or was this a fixed package? Thank you.

They mentioned in another video he couldn’t tell much of a difference between them. I had the same issue and I just ordered the Olin’s RT one
@@LBrisk01 Thanks. I will order RT Kit as well. Have you thought about air suspension ?
