Just beautiful! I love this because it is happening to me. My severe trial is producing a yearning for me to draw closer to my Savior. It is line upon line and takes time, but my knowledge of His goodness and mercy increases daily. The idea that my knowledge is becoming an aspect of my faith resonates with my heart. Thank you for making complex ideas much simpler to see and understand. Thank you for being so willing to share despite opposition.

Randy, you and I are about the same age and we seem to be on about the exact same journey to seek greater light and knowledge. I too, have been studying the Isaiah Institute translation of Isaiah for a few years now, to try to understand Isaiah more fully. This endeavor has already changed my life by opening up new vistas of understanding about ascension. Thank you for having Todd on your podcast. I see him as a “true messenger” for me who understands ascension pretty well. The thought of enduring the times of tribulation with people like you and Todd and others who seem to be on the same path, is what drives me every day. Thank you for your podcast. It is helping many to wake up to what’s really happening and then, how to access the light to sustain them on the path towards the tree of life.

I think the reason leaders don’t emphasize Calling and Election is because it was so discouraging. People, especially Women would try so hard and feel it was hopeless. Rather than simplifying it by simply emphasizing that we need to learn obedience-period.

@@spirtualsurvival If you go back to Alma Chapter 32 you find this video is explaining is the Starting Stage that as knowledge grows, faith grows which is correct, and faith grows until you come to as Alma says to a perfect knowledge. And then you come to know as the brother of Jared did. The Fruit on the tree of life which is most precious and sweet above all things is not only the peace of the gospel and the promise of eternal life but is also the out of body ascension experiences with God like Moses , Isaiah, and the Brother of Jared being shown all things For I believe the prophet Isaiah like Lehi, Nephi and others may have been lifted up up by the spirit off the planet and brought up into God's own abode when God was tutoring them on the universe. That they could not be witheld from the veil or like what happened to the two Lamanite kings who were taken out of their bodies and lifted up into God's presence and glory and then knew for themselves what kind of being God is.
Now this is where you need to be careful for If you study too much of the wrong kind of knowledge (the darkness) then what grows? The Darkness of course.
That is why those who study the things of the Dark Side (in the name of finding truth) (misuse their faith) are simply not wise. And they increase in doubt instead
of increasing in faith because they study all the wrong negative things about the Church, They will go and read what all the anti mormons and critics of the Church
have to say. They go and study things that are negative about the Restoration and then their faith diminishes and they go into a Spiritual Eclipse and then eventually
they lose their childlike faith and go down the road of Apostasy and then no longer endure anymore on the covenant path and leave the Church. While others who
study things that promote faith, their faith grows and eventually they burst the veil and start to have spiritual experiences.
That is why Jesus warned about the Misuse of Faith Because the Misuse of Faith leads into darkness and if not repented of, leads one down the road of Apostasy and
the end of that road leads into the awful crisis the foolish virgins had found themselves in. So this is why I felt impressed by the spirit to say these things.
Just like in Star Wars The Jedi cannot afford to study the things of the dark side or the dark side will eventually seduce and corrupt them and turn them from the light side and then they become Dark Jedi as they turn from the light side to the dark side..
"34. The Light of the body is the eye, therefore when thine eye is single, thy body also is full of light, but when thy eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.
      35. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. 36. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part darkness, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle giveth light.
So you can see the star wars Yoda principle being taught here.
You have to search the other scriptures to learn more about it.
      3 Nephi 13: 21-23
      21. For where your treasure is, there your heart be also.
      22. The light of the body is the eye, if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
      23. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. if, therefore , the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!.
      D&C 88: 67-69
      67. If your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you, and that body which is filled with light, comprehendeth all things.
      68. Therefore sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the day will come that you shall see him, for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will.
      69. Remember the great and last promise which I have made unto you, cast away your idle thoughts, and your excess of laughter far from you.
If you are too distracted and caught up in the things of this world, 'Choketh the word that it hath no place in you" then your ground will remain barren and the seed
will not grow being chocked by all the weeds of this world and you won't have these spiritual experiences. Your faith won't grow but will do the opposite and go
backwards like Alice in Wonderland and start shrinking while the darkness grows.
That is why we are told not to become entangled and too caught up in the vain things of this world.

Whew! I feel like my brain just ran a half marathon. Definitely some points to ponder. So, would it be true to say that if our prayers are not being answered, it is because our understanding of God is out of sync? So we don't have actual faith because it is not based on a true understanding? I suppose that's basically what it says in the Bible dictionary about prayer though, that its purpose is to bring our will into alignment with the will of our Father. Such a difficult thing to do! I suppose I'm at the point where I want to completely submit my will, but definitely still need Christ's grace to be able to. I hope that working on my desire is enough to get me there eventually.
Thanks for tackling these hard topics, even if they make my brain hurt.

One thing I noticed about Todd is he can teach many insightful things mixed with his opinion. I have no Idea where he is getting the idea that the Church teaches the Holy Spirit of promise is conditional. Everything I have read from Church resources is that the Holy Spirit of promise seals up your covenants/ordances to everlasting covenants.
It not just about faith for faith without works is dead. Obedience and sacrifice is also required. We have to be like Abraham in Obedience to God and his prophets in righteousness and this can happen in this life. The 144k are those in the Church of the firstborn who have their calling election made sure and hunt the earth for members who are ready to become exalted.
The Churches stance on the Lectures of faith:
"The lectures had no specified author, and no manuscript copies exist, leading to speculation about who wrote the lectures. According to Jedediah M. Grant, a resident of Kirtland in 1835, both Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon acted as teachers in the school."
"Brigham Young called them the lectures “Brother Sidney prepared.”3 The extent of Joseph Smith’s involvement in the production of the lectures, if any, is unknown."
"the fifth lecture speaks of the Father as a “personage of spirit,” which seems to contradict Joseph Smith’s teaching (expressed in 1843, several years after the lectures were given) that “the Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s” (D&C 130:22).5 Elder James E. Talmage, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles who led the committee that revised the 1921 Doctrine and Covenants, felt that it would be best to 'avoid confusion and contention on this vital point of belief.' In addition, the lectures had not been accepted by the Church as anything other than theological lessons, Talmage’s committee argued. Based on these recommendations, the Lectures on Faith were dropped from the Doctrine and Covenants."

The church teaches that the Holy Spirit of Promise is a conditional confirmation of the Holy Ghost of an ordinance. It is conditional on keeping the covenant as opposed to a sealing up to eternal life.
      From the church website:
“The Holy Spirit of Promise is the Holy Ghost who places the stamp of approval upon every ordinance: baptism, confirmation, ordination, marriage. The promise is that the blessings will be received through faithfulness.
“If a person violates a covenant, whether it be of baptism, ordination, marriage or anything else, the Spirit withdraws the stamp of approval, and the blessings will not be received.
“Every ordinance is sealed with a promise of a reward based upon faithfulness. The Holy Spirit withdraws the stamp of approval where covenants are broken” (Doctrines of Salvation, 1:45).
      Elder Bednar:
The Holy Spirit of Promise is the ratifying power of the Holy Ghost. When sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise, an ordinance, vow, or covenant is binding on earth and in heaven. (See D&C 132:7.) Receiving this “stamp of approval” from the Holy Ghost is the result of faithfulness, integrity, and steadfastness in honoring gospel covenants “in [the] process of time” (Moses 7:21). However, this sealing can be forfeited through unrighteousness and transgression.

Regardless of who prepared them Joseph considered them "The Doctrine of the Church of the Latter-Day Saints". He cannonized them as such. It was written by the power of the Holy Ghost, by the spirit of inspiration. It is, in effect, eternal scripture; it is true." (Bruce R. McConkie, "The Lord God of Joseph Smith; January 4, 1972)

Lectures on Faith was removed from the cannon because of concern amongst the brethren that the seemingly contradictory statements about the nature of Gods body contained therein could negatively affect the faith of the members, but consider that the Lectures were written in the early 1830s. It appears that Joseph may not have gained a full understanding of the nature of Gods body (having a body of flesh and bone) until later in the restoration, possibly as late as 1843. See D&C 130:22.

This is Todd - The gospel is like rollerskating uphill. If you don't maintain upward momentum you tend to lose understanding of the invitations offered to you. The fullness of the gospel is to obtain the presence in mortality; if we don't move forward in the requirements of faith to obtain those blessings they are taken from our understanding over time. It is the principle of Alma 12:9-12 experienced collectively. If we harden our hearts (by not receiving what is given to us) the mysteries are taken from us and we no longer have and understanding of them.

Re 8:50 Yes, there was a catastrophic change, and I don’t see any scriptural reason to believe it was inspired.
Before that time, we had the Doctrine of Christ, which we’re commanded to not change, that it’s the only salvation. That it’s the only means to salvation, that more or less than this doctrine is evil.
It’s heartbreaking but I believe we have done this to the original meaning of the doctrine:
5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
