I'm praying to stop looking to people (church people) for comfort in time of need of comfort. The whole time I announced I had breast cancer, also announced in church, not one, I mean not one gave me a word of comfort. It was me and Holy Spirit.

I grew up with holiness as a central topic, weekly in church. Those older folks were prayer warriors. I've not seen churches like that in at least 2 decades.
So true!!! I first experienced the true Presence of God, long before professing faith in Christ. Later, my sisters ushered me into the manifest Presence of the Almighty, when I was still young in Christ. Those experiences keep me in “the faith”, when others would have left, a longtime ago, after suffering all of the demonic attacks that I have, since my initial profession of faith in JESUS Christ.

That’s exactly right. I believe that what you were saying is so true. I am a Christian and have been on the way for 63 years and I’ve had my protocol experiences deep down deep down. I had an initial born again experience of knowing Jesus Christ is my saviour and even though I ended into the wilderness and lost my way due to a lot of things that are not with at this point even discussing I could never ever walk away because you can’t walk away from something so transformational you’ll never be the same. I got so tired of going to church and not experiencing the presence of the Lord. I was so hungry for intimacy with the Lord that I started waiting on the Lord. I sat for 2 hours waiting on the Lord focusing on Jesus. Then, I experience the tangible presence of the Lord, which changed me forever. It was this experience and the fear of the Lord that cause me to have a vision of what Christ went through on the cross to purchase me. His love continues to draw me into the secret place. The fear of the Lord keeps me pusuing Jesus as I fear missing the Lord. I have seen Jesus face to face. Nothing is more satisfying than spending time in his presence. I am tired of the religious church but I can't get enough of Jesus crying out to Jesus to change me to be like him. Dying to self daily.

@thirdplace3973 I would go back to the basics. The bible says if you believe in your heart not your mind. Is belief in Jesus to you something in your mind you are trying to work up or a deep unshakeble faith with no doubt at all in the bottom of your heart?
It's not because they're not pursuing holiness, although that's part of it. Holiness means set apart but we conflate it with purity, and that's a work of The Holy Spirit from within. Two different things. In all honesty John has always bordered on being a works guy. But I have pursued holiness at times from having encounters with Him, not the other way around. I saw The Lord and therefore consecrated myself. The biggest problem I believe is we're not pursuing Him, but lesser affections, and that's about idolatry. The Holy Spirit needs to be our best friend.

What if I have longed for this for decades, sought Him in His word, in prayer and confession and He has withheld His presence from me 😢

Sometimes people have failed to purge themselves as 1 John 3:1-3 commands.
Others have failed to come os the humble Jrsus said.
Jesus said, You must be born again. John 3:3-8. "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of Spirit is spirit." Verses 3:5-6.
Born again is regeneration. Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary online.
'Regeneration means; Reproduction, the act of producing anew. In theology, New birth by the grace of God, that change by which the will and natural enmity of man to God and his law are subdued, and a principle of supreme
love to God and his law, or holy affections, are implanted in the heart.' Implanted.
Humbling isn't it. We cannot do that. So who does God look to? the humble and contrite ones. Psalm 34:18 and Isaiah 57:15.
Ask God to send the Holy Spirit to you, Luke 11:13. He will bring your sins to mind. As he does ask Jesus to forgive you. This will be painful, PRIDE HATES IT.
When you see your desperate need (Jeremish 17:9) for a Saviour, call out to Jesus to save you. He came to save sinners.
Then do as the risen Jesus commanded, be baptized. Matthew 28:18-20, in the water of repentance Mark 1:1-5, Matthew 3:6. Calling on the name of the Lord, Romans 10:9-13. How? As Peter preached Acts 2:21, 38 and as Paul did, Acts 22:16, Acts 19:1-5.
Think on Mark 16:16, 2 Peter 3:9, Romans 6:3-11, 1 Corinthians 12:13 and Colossians 2:6-15.
When He has regenerated you, you will desire Him. Read His inspired word, the Authorized Version, the King James Bible. The Spirit of truth will lead you into all truth. His word strengthens, washes (as does His powerful blood). His word reads you Hebrews 4:12. Daily bible reading and prayer is essential in building on the foundation which is Christ Jesus.
PS. The other apostles were already baptized, they baptized others. John 4:1-2.
Read His preserved word, the Authorized Version later called the King James Bible.

I'm praying to stop looking to people (church people) for comfort in time of need of comfort. The whole time I announced I had breast cancer, also announced in church, not one, I mean not one gave me a word of comfort. It was me and Holy Spirit.

You were in the wrong church. My church when several people had cancer they prayed with them and for them. Everybody except one was healed.
But stay strong and also ask God to lead you to the right church. Read psalms 103 and personalize it for yourself everyday.
So sorry you were not comforted by your family in God. What has happened to the church? We are to bear one another's burdens. Thank God for the Spirit of God who does His job well. Love and prayers to you ❤❤🎉.

I grew up with holiness as a central topic, weekly in church. Those older folks were prayer warriors. I've not seen churches like that in at least 2 decades.

So true!!! I first experienced the true Presence of God, long before professing faith in Christ. Later, my sisters ushered me into the manifest Presence of the Almighty, when I was still young in Christ. Those experiences keep me in “the faith”, when others would have left, a longtime ago, after suffering all of the demonic attacks that I have, since my initial profession of faith in JESUS Christ.

That’s exactly right. I believe that what you were saying is so true. I am a Christian and have been on the way for 63 years and I’ve had my protocol experiences deep down deep down. I had an initial born again experience of knowing Jesus Christ is my saviour and even though I ended into the wilderness and lost my way due to a lot of things that are not with at this point even discussing I could never ever walk away because you can’t walk away from something so transformational you’ll never be the same. I’ve been at my church 2 years is getting bigger and bigger which is fantastic but today it was just to much for my head 💙✝️🙏
I got so tired of going to church and not experiencing the presence of the Lord. I was so hungry for intimacy with the Lord that I started waiting on the Lord. I sat for 2 hours waiting on the Lord focusing on Jesus. Then, I experience the tangible presence of the Lord, which changed me forever. It was this experience and the fear of the Lord that cause me to have a vision of what Christ went through on the cross to purchase me. His love continues to draw me into the secret place. The fear of the Lord keeps me pusuing Jesus as I fear missing the Lord. I have seen Jesus face to face. Nothing is more satisfying than spending time in his presence. I am tired of the religious church but I can't get enough of Jesus crying out to Jesus to change me to be like him. Dying to self daily.

@thirdplace3973 I would go back to the basics. The bible says if you believe in your heart not your mind. Is belief in Jesus to you something in your mind you are trying to work up or a deep unshakeble faith with no doubt at all in the bottom of your heart?
It's not because they're not pursuing holiness, although that's part of it. Holiness means set apart but we conflate it with purity, and that's a work of The Holy Spirit from within. Two different things. In all honesty John has always bordered on being a works guy. But I have pursued holiness at times from having encounters with Him, not the other way around. I saw The Lord and therefore consecrated myself. The biggest problem I believe is we're not pursuing Him, but lesser affections, and that's about idolatry. The Holy Spirit needs to be our best friend.
