I just HAVE to comment somewhere on your videos and when you mentioned Pittsburgh... I wanted to be a mortician at a very young age. The desire continued into my teenage years and so I approached a local funeral home twice between the age of 14-16. I wanted to go to PIMS. I was told I’d never make it. Couldn’t remove a 300lb man by myself in the middle of the night. So I went to nursing school. Now I know (I’m 43) that there would be no one to do that alone. I have loved being a nurse but part of me wishes things would’ve been different. It makes me so happy to see a woman in this industry. I won’t say I’ll send you any business lol but you seem to love what you do and that’s pretty awesome.

As far as wondering why someone died...I think death interests and scares people so they want to know what happened. Especially if they knew the decedent well. It helps people’s acceptance. They cared about the person. I suppose technically it may not be their business, but it might be comforting compared to wondering forever.

Cremetory question, my brother passed away, my dad chose a coffin with all the fancy handles etc on it, its been some time since he passed and now my dad has suddenly asked what would have happened to the coffin as it obviously wouldnt have gone in a retort with all the fancy features on it !
    Thanks x

Some funeral homes have coffins for rent until your love ones go to cremation. You essentially pay for have the padding replace and a good cleaning. It’s way cheaper then buying a coffin for a couple days viewings.

This is in reference to the comment about the person who said they won’t drink because their loved one died of cirrhosis. I have never had a drink in my life, but was exposed to bad blood through a transfusion as a baby in the mid 60’s, (they didn’t start testing blood, for possible contamination until the late 80’s early 90’s. )
I contracted HepC, and went through a YEAR of treatments in late 2006-07. One of the complications of HepC is developing Cirrhosis. I was in a support group during treatment, and one of the founding members of the group passed away due to cirrhosis.
I now have been diagnosed with cirrhosis myself. It isn’t fun!

Love your TH-cam channel.. Question here for your cremation series.
Why is cremation so expensive? We had our 120# dog cremated ashes sent to our home. .. It was less than $200.00..but for a 120# person.. The price is over $3000.00..this is for straight to cremation.. No frills. I am in SW Oklahoma.
    This is crazy!

@@tinlady4309 that sounds like an unprofessional sales tactic! Why do you think they would want to sell the pricer caskets? Could it really be because they make more money on more expensive merchandise? In my area all burials require a vault which protects the casket. My babies didn’t require a vault. for some reason they don’t require a vault for babies. It’s been 25 and 20 years since we lost our babies. I assume the caskets could be in bad shape by now. It’s the nature of death. I wish you peace and comfort in dealing with your mothers death. Whether it occurred two days ago or decades ago, I hope you can understand that she knows how much you loved her.

I have been wondering where all of the millions of people who have died during COVID are being burried. Are people having to opt for cremation? Do cemetary's ever get full? The Cemetery in my town where i was born and still live here , we have ONE Cemetery I sometimes wonder how it isnt full by now. There are headstones dating back to the later 1800's . Do the owners stack coffins on top of each other ? Like they take the one who is burried there out but stil in their coffin then dig the spot deeper and put the first casket in and cover it with the dirt and then burry someone else on top?

Many of those deaths would have happened in the natural course of things and they are buried where they usually would have. Some places required cremation when there was ignorance of being able to care for Covid positive people or not.

I have a 26 yo son who is making his way in LA. I would like him to spend a year taking a course at Trinity College in dublin. Reason: so he can immerse himself in beautiful Irish girls with their Irish brough so he can find spouse.
Maybe I'll go over there myself!

Our daughter was killed in an accident almost 5 years ago. We had her cremated. We did go into the home to see her before. She was beautiful laying on the gurney covered by a sheet. Would they apply makeup before we saw her. She had roses cheeks. She was in Kalamazoo.
