Lightening the firearm only makes it easier to carry, not necessarily shoot. Less weight means less mass to absorb the recoil. Carbon fiber .308 or 12ga off hand? My shoulder aches just thinking about that.
IMNSHO, standard weight firearms in "weaker" calibers are better for smaller/weaker shooters. A .380 mini 1911 or Mark IV are great training pistols. For rifles, a 10/22 or M&P 15-22, though really unless you get really crazy lightening it, a 16" .223 isn't too bad ( the noise is usually more disruptive to a new shooter than the recoil ).
All that said, I'm sure Mere already has a few guns of her own.
When I buy a new firearm, I make sure to get a mani-pedi gift cert or a spa package for wifey. Haven't had a prob in at least 12 years...

A Carbon fiber gun would theoretically kick more, being lighter then steel.
@@Captain_Coleslaw Yup! Simple F=ma. However, a carbon fiber AR15 in 5.56 with a good brake would probably suit her just fine, since 5.56 doesn't kick much in the first place. And a .22lr (thouh a Henry would be light enough without being carbon fiber). And how about a .300 Blk subsonic?
A heavy gun with a good brake would produce the lightest recoil, but the right caliber with the right brake should still be a good combo on a light gun. All for wieldability.

I’d like to see them both do a 2 hour sniper training course taught by Nick Irving when after they have to go to a range and without knowing the distance to a target and having only 10 rounds, calculate the range, drop, and windage to see not only who can hit it first, who can hit it with the least misses before their first successful hit, and who gets the most hits out of the 10 rounds.

That's basically what they've done already, just not at the same time. In the first challenge Mere had the Demo AR, and Matt had a Henry .410 lever. This time Mere had a semi-auto and Matt had the revolver, then Mere with the unicorn Benelli and Matt with Franken-Shotty, already a step back from a pump.
