We just moved here to Northern Nevada, and have seen quite a few horses during the day. I did not know they were still out at night time also!! I will definitely tell my parents(they drive, i do not) about being careful at night, and to watch for the horses at night. Its a shame about the danger we are to the wildlife, and them to us! Alaska has the same problem with bears and moose. I hate seeing them hurt.

No, i dont think they eat the horsemeat! Not positive though. We have a ton of wild horses around here and i think fencing keeps them off the main roads so u dont hear about them getting hit all the time. Buteau of Land Management is supposed to take care of all that stuff. Hope this helped a little?

The only humane decent thing to do for that poor horse was to quickly put it down. The best possible solution for the horses would be to remove the highway, because humans are toxic to beautiful animals.

IF it does get reintroduced back into the U.S, and FDA graded fresh packed, it will be fairly expensive. The latest price I could find (2013) was approx. $20 per lb. My brother ran into 3 wild horses on the Yakama Rez a few years ago on his way home from work, pretty rare event here.
The horse broke my heart that they did not discharge a shot right off and he had to be in pain. God bless the officer.

IF it does get reintroduced back into the U.S, and FDA graded fresh packed, it will be fairly expensive. The latest price I could find (2013) was approx. $20 per lb. If you ever go to Mexico or one of many other Countries I am sure you can find and try it.
