Georgia county's expulsion of Black population still felt today

  • Forsyth County, Georgia, was home to over a thousand Black residents in the early 20th century, including some who owned hundreds of acres of land. The death of a White teenager and the lynching of a Black man upended the community, causing ripple effects that people are still reckoning with today.

This is why we need to learn an unadulterated history of America, sure there are some uncomfortable truths (like many countries) but until we accept them and ensure they don't happen again there is no moving forward

Words that I have spoken again and again!! People don't know the true history of this country with regard to Native Americans and African Americans!! These stories and the truth need to be taught to all! The GOP's are stopping this and want their followers in a hate mode, so that they don't think logically (and see the truth). The hate has to stop and the only way to do that is through education and the truth!!

Frank Zappa - Trouble Everyday (lyrics)
Well I'm about to get sick
      From watchin' my tv
      Been checkin' out the news
Until my eyeballs fail to see
I mean to say that every day
      Is just another rotten mess
And when it's gonna change, my friend
      Is anybody's guess
      *Chorus*
So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin'
      Hopin' for the best
Even think I'll go to prayin'
Every time I hear 'em sayin'
That there's no way to delay
      That trouble comin' every day
      No way to delay
      That trouble comin' every day
Wednesday I watched the riot. ..
Seen the cops out on the street
Watched 'em throwin' rocks and stuff
      And chokin' in the heat
      Listened to reports
      About the whisky passin' 'round
      Seen the smoke and fire
      And the market burnin' down
      Watched while everybody
On his street would take a turn
To stomp and smash and bash and crash
And slash and bust and burn
      *chorus*
      Well, you can cool it,
      You can heat it. ..
      'Cause, baby, I don't need it. ..
Take your tv tube and eat it
'n all that phony stuff on sports
      'n all the unconfirmed reports
You know I watched that rotten box
Until my head begin to hurt
      From checkin' out the way
The newsman say they get the dirt
Before the guys on channel so-and-so
      And further they assert
      That any show they'll interrupt
To bring you news if it comes up
They say that if the place blows up
They will be the first to tell,
Because the boys they got downtown
Are workin' hard and doin' swell,
And if anybody gets the news
      Before it hits the street,
They say that no one blabs it faster
      Their coverage can't be beat
      And if another woman driver
      Gets machine-gunned from her seat
They'll send some joker with a brownie
And you'll see it all complete
      *Chorus*
*Hey, you know something people? I'm not black, but there's a whole lots a times
I wish I could say I'm not white*
Well, I seen the fires burnin'
      And the local people turnin'
On the merchants and the shops
Who used to sell their brooms and mops
      And every other household item
Watched the mob just turn and bite 'em
And they say it served 'em right
Because a few of them are white,
And it's the same across the nation
      Black and white discrimination
      Yellin' "You can't understand me!"
'n all that other jazz they hand me
In the papers and tv and
      All that mass stupidity
That seems to grow more every day
Each time you hear some nitwit say
He wants to go and do you in
Because the color of your skin
      Just don't appeal to him
(No matter if it's black or white)
Because he's out for blood tonight
You know we got to sit around at home
      And watch this thing begin
But I bet there won't be many live
      To see it really end
'Cause the fire in the street
Ain't like the fire in the heart
And in the eyes of all these people
Don't you know that this could start
On any street in any town
In any state if any clown
Decides that now's the time to fight
For some ideal he thinks is right
And if a million more agree
      There ain't no Great Society
As it applies to you and me
      Our country isn't free
And the law refuses to see
If all that you can ever be
      Is just a lousy janitor
Unless your uncle owns a store
You know that five in every four
Just won't amount to nothin' more

You'll learn, for one thing, that most every person of every race was enslaved in some way until the past few hundred years at most. Unless you can trace your lineage through unbroken nobility (although often titles and wealth were lost there too due to politics and circumstance), YOUR ancestors were slaves, indentured servants, serfs, share croppers, etc. And unless you are worth millions today, independently wealthy, unless you don't have to work to survive, you are still a wage-slave.
Also, of course, all people's have revolted and had vast and sophisticated empires. Throughout history, the 85%+ of the world that is not white (and that's even counting "not really white" people like those who live in the Mediterranean area) ruled and had to most advanced civilizations (especially in N. Africa and the near, far, and middle East and also S. America). If that’s not possible, they should be compensated for the value of the land & business/ home. If descendants can’t be traced, the property should be converted to some type of community use. Maybe something similar has been done in another country & we could glean ideas from that. These things may seem like they’re in the past, to outside observers, but to affected families & communities, the results of such trauma & theft don’t stay neatly buried in the past. At this point, the country has moved beyond these problems being linked to anything civil. The police videos that are in circulation right now prove this is absolutely a violation of human rights 100%. It is depraved to be fair. Nobody asks to be born. All our children are beautiful. And it has to be said, white Americans are a tad backward when it comes to going forward, truly! Look around, the whole world stands by black Americans. My daughters beautiful best friend is black. Denying it just delays the process and causes further conflict. Use the example of Armenia and Turkey. They’re still at each other’s throats for Turkey’s failure to acknowledge what happened. Finally, if you truly believe that America is so weak that it cannot handle an honest look at its own past, then frankly, you don’t have a very high opinion of America and I question your patriotism.

Sad story which contributed in part to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. That movement lead to the creation of the Great Society welfare state. The welfare state led to the destruction of the nuclear family of poor black and other communities. This lead to millions of children being brought up in one parent families without the ability to offer proper direction. Drugs and gangs followed. This coupled with the lack of school choice to properly educate their children has led to their inability to prosper in the economy. This is the issue that needs to be addressed, solutions will be hard and complicated. Continuing to spread sensationalized fomenting divisive rhetoric is counterproductive. Is especially sad when it's done for money. Listen to the Project Veritas tapes and how CNN intentionally manipulates the news and misleads it's viewers for money. My opinion

Black people do better in warmer climates. There's plenty of space. And the civil war didn't free black americans.

I'm speaking scientifically. The Sun literally makes black people healthier. Lack of sun = lack of vitamin D. And other things we don't know about.
The "clan" and i have something in common, we don't want to live, work, shop, share hospitals with each other. Separation is best.

Trying to get 70+% of the US population to agree to reparations will be impossible. Get over it folks. Stop living in the past move forward. I understand loving your own history that's why a lot of us people in Georgia wave Confederate flags and thats the reason why our state flag is a Confederate flag.
