I'd just like to point out what is probably already known to most who are familiar with BILLY ELLIOT... * The "ANGRY DANCE" is the final number of Act One. So basically you've got a high-energy, demanding, huge-stamina number positioned at the very end of the act, and it has to be performed without looking tired or in need of a break... The sheer professionalism of these young actors is *astonishing*. I definitely think the Billys are some of the hardest working actors on stage ANYWHERE.
One of my all time favorite closings of act 1. Most musicals use a very big les mis style song to give the end more energy but here it's basically a solo dance with no words and it's the most emotional part of the piece
Ikr all of the Billy’s puked after there first 10 performances of angry dance but then there body’s got used to it except Tom Holland he puked after every performance that’s how hard this dance is 🥺
This is an excellent example of the common musical theatre practice: when the emotion is too big for words you sing and when it's too big for song you dance. Some do this well like in Billy Elliot, others not so much like in Mary Poppins Returns.
I think angry dance has to be my favourite number in the show, the amount of stamina required for such a high energy piece is unbelievable and for Elliot to completely nail it like that is amazing. Hats off to him, and my goodness I wish I could act like that! 😄
That angry dance is unbelievably! amazing!!!!, wow! that boy can dance! Elliot Hanna is a great Billy, unfortunately, I have only seen him on dvd. But still better than not seeing the west end show at all. But i didt see the amezing! danish version.
I have this Blue-ray and Elliot Hanna is amazing. I enjoyed it enough watching it on TV but when it was announced the show was closing I went to London and saw it. Angry Dance has to be seen in person to really appreciate it, this number just blew me away!
+Kelsie Phillips Billy Elliot was at the Victoria Queens theater which was bought by Cameron Mackintosh last year and is now being renovated. Hamilton is next up, its the hot property, so it looks like Mackintosh kind of thru Billy under the bus. I think the cost of capitalization (millions of pounds) for another theater was probably prohibitive for a 11 year old show. hopefully after a short restbit the show will find another home and fans to flock to it. hopefully in or near Piccadilly Circus where there is huge foot traffic and sell outs seem easier to achieve at least from what I observed when I was there in March.
This kid is the best I've seen since the original 3 Broadway Billy's. His dancing is great--doing the original choreography very well, and his acting of this number is as good as Trent Kowalik, who did it better than any other kid I've seen. He does a GREAT Job!
This dance is just unbelievable. Incredibly amazing performance here from the young actor, I saw the musical in London yesterday with Ollie Jochim, and he was also fantastic. This dance is so energetic, emotional, I wish I was younger and I could learn it :)
Up to this day, I think Angry dance was the most powerful theatrical moment for me I still remember when I watch it in West End It literally took my breath away I was holding my breath becoz of how powerful the performance was And I was stunned by how such a young performer can deliver a raw emotional performance through complicated tap dancing and emo at the same time My next favorite is the letter It gets my eyes wet every single time
Absolutely agree. It’s fantastic watching this video, but being there at West End, you are absolutely blown away! The letter song! “love you forever”, God, I could not hold the tears. I wish this show could make a come back to the theatres.
Elliott Hanna said this was his favorite scene to perform in the whole show. I think that shows his love of dancing. The most difficult and exhausting part is the one he likes most.
It astonishes me every time I watch this that a kid who can’t be much older than 12 years old is just flawlessly carrying this show.. he’s truly a spectacular performer!
What the heck???!!! I've literally been in shock the whole video! I definitely love this musical and also I love Elliott :v this song shows the anxiety he's living and make you feel like he's feeling just dancing and screaming. It's absolutely awesome. P.D: I'm still in shock wth agfjhkdjdajs
I remember the 'thwamp' of the riot police shields reverberating in my chest when I saw this live. Absolutely phenomenal number. Gets you so amped up for act 2.
im so sad i missed this musical when it was in australia and now it is over ;_; oh well at least i will always have the movie, which is perfect in its own right
There is a bootleg of his. It’s not the best and a head blocks it a little but you can see most of of the performance and it’s very good. I love angry dance but not all of them blow me away. Toms does just as Elliott’s does.
The difference I think between the British version and the Broadway one is that Broadway they are trying to show America how hard it was for the workers when they were fighting with the police.
if you really love acting and performing, it can be stressful but it is also extremly fun and for filling. I have been in some things and they have been the best experiences of my life!

IKR
so true!!

@@jess_the_seal7616 I never knew that!
Elliott Hanna is just so incredibly talented for such a youngster, blown away by both his dancing & acting abilities
I agree!! he was 10 in this!!!!!
Rainbow Whale I think he was 11 or 12. They just said at the start of the performance that he started when he was 10; not that he still was 10.
+Rainbow Whale he was 11 here. He turns 12 on 20th March 2015 :)
lydz25 whatever. Soooo young!! 👏👏👏 He is a force of nature !!
*Tom Holland

Yes exactly this is perfect the best example I love billy elliot so much
It is so true that Elliot Hanna was the best Billy ever! He was made to play the part of Billy!❤️
Hes an amazing dancer and singer. All he need to do is actually hold out his words while singing.
Everytime I watched him he was brilliant but do was Tom Holland and they look alike back then as well
Jamie bell
David Alvarez was the best Billy. He's in the new West Side Story movie that's coming out.
This kid amazes me every time I watch him. He is eleven years old.
I almost start to cry when I see this. So much emotions in a little child.
All of the Billys are amazing, but Elliot Hanna HAS to be my favourite. Absolutely jaw droppingly talented.
I think angry dance has to be my favourite number in the show, the amount of stamina required for such a high energy piece is unbelievable and for Elliot to completely nail it like that is amazing. Hats off to him, and my goodness I wish I could act like that! 😄
and he walked off stage like a boss!
Petra Gabriella Gazsó Exactly! I thought the same thing.
Petra Gabriella Gazsó lol. Such a performer!
That angry dance is unbelievably! amazing!!!!, wow! that boy can dance!
Elliot Hanna is a great Billy, unfortunately, I have only seen him on dvd. But still better than not seeing the west end show at all. But i didt see the amezing! danish version.
This expresses how I feel at work.
LOL

+Jim Michaud Why is the show closing??? i didnt know that?!

Ah, I can feel his energy emanating from the screen. What a superb performance! 💙💙

my fav billy!
Mine too! Elliot Hanna is amazing
Everytime I watch a performance of Angry Dance..... that little reprise of Solidarity gives me such chills....
I had the same reaction when my sister ate the last pizza portion
this is the most amazing musical theatre piece i've ever seen. also it looks so cathartic to perform!! props to elliott
I’ve watched this over 30 times in the last three days. This is absolutely brilliant
so mutch energy, so much power in his dance what an amazing Billy!
HE IS AN AMAZING BILLY
oh hi! xd
This dance is just unbelievable. Incredibly amazing performance here from the young actor, I saw the musical in London yesterday with Ollie Jochim, and he was also fantastic. This dance is so energetic, emotional, I wish I was younger and I could learn it :)

The show is so beautiful am also from the area where it's set and it takes my breath away how authentic it all is.
Absolutely agree.
It’s fantastic watching this video, but being there at West End, you are absolutely blown away!
The letter song! “love you forever”, God, I could not hold the tears.
I wish this show could make a come back to the theatres.
Goosebumps at the end. 👏 #BillyLive
0:33 when a river of tears started flowing down my face. What an amazingly talented actor and what a brilliant show.
Stunning in performance of rhythmic tap and acting and stamina.
I love watching him at the end when hes on the floor. Poor sole looks knackered. Bloody great dancer though :)
So much emotion in this dance! I love Elliot Hanna, he's my favorite Billy 😍😍😍
This is Tom Holland lol
@@jacobcote7632 no😂
Elliott Hanna said this was his favorite scene to perform in the whole show. I think that shows his love of dancing. The most difficult and exhausting part is the one he likes most.
He's emotionally and physically drained after that. My god that was something else
Kids who have a problem expressing their anger, just have them watch this clip. Sets a good example.
That and they should start tap dancing as well, my sister tap dances and she loves tapping to rock songs
just amazing. I saw this musical yesterday, this scene was breathtaking
It astonishes me every time I watch this that a kid who can’t be much older than 12 years old is just flawlessly carrying this show.. he’s truly a spectacular performer!
best of the best..
I was so so lucky to have seen this live. It really stuck with me more than anything. It was crazy good
This kid inspired me to be a performer
I will never find another angry dance such as this no angry dance has ever done this one justice
This is AMAZING
Awesome I felt the anger ín this performance absolutely fabulous
What the heck???!!! I've literally been in shock the whole video! I definitely love this musical and also I love Elliott :v this song shows the anxiety he's living and make you feel like he's feeling just dancing and screaming. It's absolutely awesome.
P.D: I'm still in shock wth agfjhkdjdajs
I am stund I showed my friend this and she was like damn that's talent
Fav Billy!!!
This is on netflix now. Woot!
OMYGOSH!!! IS IT REALLY AND TRULY??!!!! 0_0
It was the best moment for a break, that kid surely needed water and a bed
Why am i crying
Did this kid win any awards because he is fabulous!!
I remember the 'thwamp' of the riot police shields reverberating in my chest when I saw this live. Absolutely phenomenal number. Gets you so amped up for act 2.
When someone eats the last pizza slice.
simplemente espectacular.
This along with Footloose’s dance scene and a couple of scenes from HSM goes to show how effective the power of dance is in expressing frustration
if there's ever a movie remake eliott hanna has to play billy, there's been many billy's but wow, he's the one
Charlotte D He's too old to play Billy sadly.
The best scene of the show!
im so sad i missed this musical when it was in australia and now it is over ;_; oh well at least i will always have the movie, which is perfect in its own right
I wish my meltdown is like that.
A good lesson to kids on how to deal with angry feelings
amazing
Wow...just wow. Look at all the sweat on his face at 4:40
when i say this song in the musical i cried
bro didnt get his vbucks 💀
Impressionante 😍
I saw this a few weeks ago at Victoria Palace, now doing a review on it for school.
That final scream was real.
we watched this in drama today
Me when build closes forever i can relate
This is our kids theather in school and it was yesterday this year in 3rd grade
This looks so much better than the tony performance
And NO ONE got this scene as Tom Holland as Billy? Okay. I’m upset. But this kid did AMAZING.
There is a bootleg of his. It’s not the best and a head blocks it a little but you can see most of of the performance and it’s very good. I love angry dance but not all of them blow me away. Toms does just as Elliott’s does.
when you concede a 90th minute goal on FIFA...

Pigs like to self contain mortal combat

Elliott Hanna
The difference I think between the British version and the Broadway one is that Broadway they are trying to show America how hard it was for the workers when they were fighting with the police.
Can you do a video of Express Yourself?
he had a tantrum
I'd never seen or heard of this show before so when I watched this i found it extremely confusing
PrinceTrexus But once you realize how hard those times were, you realize what this anger is all about.
Is this available on DVD or Blu-Ray
Yes
Anita Pittman where can i find it??
+Maggie R. Amiazon
I wonder...
How much his voice hurt
Wauw :)
I kind of wish I could've seen Tom Holland do the angry dance I hear he was really good in this show too
what's his name?
When people spell Elliott's name wrong
When your mom takes away your Xbox
Coming from a young person similar age as Eliot looking for a career in acting this looks fun
Stressful more like it. I can't imagine how much stress he must of had. Still amazing that he still preformed beautifully though.
if you really love acting and performing, it can be stressful but it is also extremly fun and for filling. I have been in some things and they have been the best experiences of my life!
The Scottish version is the best one
What a tantrum
Anyone else notice when he fell out of his pirouette at 2:50?
That was on purpose
Me when people are noisy XD:
0:05
0:06
Me when the
wait. is he saying f*ck?
Popadom 14 yes
oh wow... Only just realised that!
this makes me angry
wasn`t it supposed to be Town called malice ? I suppose the royalties were too much!
Sam Green, I thought the same. Town called malice made the scene sublime.
wtf
Wtf
Clorox Bleach Same reaction
I'm sorry to say but this is a little dramatic.
its meant to be?
lol that's the point
Crying.Child It's the end of act one and it's supposed to be. This is the climax of the show, it's going to be completely crazy.
I really hate step dancing in this show. WHY? Why not make it a pure ballet gig? It looks cheap and misplaced.
This sucks, it's better in the movie.
