Billy Elliot the Musical Live is a 2014 British filmed version of Elton John's coming-of-age stage musical Billy Elliot the Musical (2005), which in turn was based on the 2000 film Billy Elliot. Stephen Daldry directed both the original film and the 2014 musical adaptation. The filmed production stars Elliott Hanna as Billy, Ruthie Henshall as Mrs. Wilkinson, and Deka Walmsley, Ann Emery, and Chris Grahamson as Billy's father, grandmother, and older brother, respectively. Tom Holland (SpiderMan) famously played Billy Elliot in the stage version of the musical.

Was kind of forced to see this live for a college course and the acoustics of the riot shields slamming onto the stage literally sends vibrations through your bones and that combined with the performance made me cry for the first time in like a decade it was insane lol

I grew up in a mining village in the UK when the miners went on strike and the conflict between the police and the miners, and others in the village was horrendous. This scene is exactly how the hatred was felt.

I saw Billy Elliott at the Victoria Palace three times. Every time I took my daughter to London she wanted to.see it. The Billys we saw, in order, were Leon Cooke, Josh Fedrick and Elliott Hanna. They were all excellent, but this young man was the youngest. I think he was 10 when he started? Remarkable.
