Where I live, there are few places to land legally. And, weather is a big factor in not being able to get around by helicopter. Fog, strong rain and wind either cancelled my trips, or made them uncomfortable.

That's the closest thing we have to a flying car but it also illustrates the limitations of a flying car such as the fact that it's expensive, it's noisy, it makes a lot of downwash wind, and there are landing restrictions and FAA air traffic control restrictions.

Time saving is an excuse to own a helicopter. He's not doing anything that's time sensitive.

So you would rather spend time commuting unpaid and incurring hours/days away that you could be spending with your family or hours getting paid by doing value-added work. He obviously doesn't work for a salary so ALL his time has value as opposed to your 40hours a week.
