Right!? First time both baddies meet each other, cybermen won the planet and friggin darlecks WITH PERSONALITIES. oh Yay! My little fan girl heart pooped.
There’s a reason Graeme Harper is considered the best ever director of Doctor Who. He’s the only one from the classic series who was invited to return. Have a look at The Caves of Androzani.
Me: "wow the cyber men are back...and Mickley! Right that's amazing, enough surprises for one episode" *void ship begins opening* "I can't take any more!!!"
Watching all these clips and rewatching the series in general has really made me realise how much impact the music has on a scene. Imagine the daleks coming out of the sphere with no music. It wouldn’t be as impactful. The music really just sets the atmosphere for the scene.

I mean Jodies encounter with the lone cyberman in that ghost episode was really good and the cyber war tbh shes had a good stories with the cybermen at least she didn’t have to deal with the iron man cybermen
Nice line of thought, but you have to remember they were disconnected from the timeline for quite a while after entering the void ship. Yes I know they can time travel (that’s why the Last Great Time War happened) but the only real capability that the cult (and only the cult from my limited viewing) displays is their emergency temporal shift which the cult use to go to 1930’s manhattan and then Caan escaping there, getting stuck in the time vortex and causing the Stolen Earth 2 parter to happen
This was so exciting when it was broadcast. We knew the two were in this episode, but we didn’t really know what it would mean or how they’d meet. Brilliant dramaturgy from RTD.
I did not know they would be in it... it was such an exciting cliffhanger. I remember it vividly all these years later. Can't wait to have kids and watch it with them.
RTD era cybermen are definitely the best looking from new who but the cybermen from Jodie’s era are also easily the 2nd best looking. I mean cmon we went from this to iron man

Hard disagree. Recurring monsters should be in a series 3 times at most like new monsters can be unique and interesting. That’s how we got the Daleks, Cybermen and the Angels in the first place. Unfortunately the modern show doesn’t make memorable new villains

One of the best scenes of DW. Pacing, music, dialogues, camera shots; from directing to screenwriting, it was phenomenal.
