The replacement of the passanger side was easy as heck. But after cuts 2 breaks and 30 minutes later the driver side bulb finally came out!!! And looks very nice and Great product thanks!!!!!!
IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE with the driver's side. Needle nose vise grips, open it about a half an inch. Place the pliers around the fin style plastic connector with your right hand. Twist handle CWW, you may have to play with how wide you have the pliers. Less than 10 minutes believe me, I was done. I chewed up arm and hand, delighted I finished the job and the lights look great!
Dude my hands are tore up. I tried to remove the light and broke some other stuff. I have done plenty of motor swaps and other work. This is oddly difficult. I’m now drinking.
Here with everyone asking myself why do I still own this MK6 Jetta....the video is extremely informative. I like the pro-tip for the Drivers Side DRL removal (its still insane though). It's also good to know I am not the only one out there enduring this, lol!
Excellent info, I've had the driver side bulb out for months because I can't get my hand in there. The dealership wants 50 bucks labor to do it! I'll try the wheel removal.
You would think that the German folks would think of a better way to change these bulbs. It took me almost 2 hours just to change the driver's side. finally, I used a pair of angled pliers to get it out. Should have used them from the begining
OGzGaming Juggernauts I got it out after about 40 minutes of struggling and bruising the hell out of my hand, but thankfully they look nice and i wont have to worry about changing them out ever.
I use with the driver side Dw40 and start moving up and down to lose it really hard after you feel it loosen start twisting after you replace the bulb use those light bulb lubricants in the bulb and in the socket
Thanks a lot for this video but my god was that a pain in the ass to do. The driver's side bulbs are so hard to get out that i had to use pliers and when i finally pulled it out of the socket my old bulb burst and glass is all in my headlight.
No lights on the dash with any of our RFB Lighting products, 100% can-bus compliant, and yes -- built in resistors. Even better! Lifetime warranty as well!
I wish you had used a flashlight on the driver's side. I get that I need to feel but would love to see it so I know where I'm at. All the mechanics are telling my mother- in- law the need to take the bumper of to do it.
Hi, I already install the right and left DLR bulbs but they are not working, I have a 2012 jetta style active, could it be a fuses problem?, can u help me to identify what else need to check
THANK YOU for the Alt approach for the driver side!!!! I have large hands and can barly do the headlamp, but the drl . Well after swearing for half an hour I found this video, and this and some pb blaster on a Q-tip, was able to get out the bulb on the wife's '14 tdi that was original! (read really stuck) Anyway thanks again!
The only Caitlin thanks for that reply. Soon after this comment, I did my research and figured that out lol. I also purchased these bulbs. They’re CAN-BUS compatible and therefore wont through a code.
Peter G I actually try to unscrew the bumper then the headlights? Did it once with a friend. Still couldn’t get to it. Such a pain in the ass. Unless I did wrong. What’s your suggestion? Can you explain it in detail
Right, so to change a bulb 💡 in a VW, you need to jack up the car, remove the wheel and unscrew 16 Bolts - And Then ... it’s STILL almost impossible to remove without cutting up your hand. Very stupid design .... by the Germans.
Rob I tried it yesterday and I had no problem. I didn’t have to take the wheel off or remove any screws. You unscrew a plastic disc that covers the back of the headlight, and if you have a small arm and hand you can get to the bulb no problem
drivers side is pure stupidity. I cant get to mine at all. my hand wont fit the dust cover hole. Can't get my hand in deep enough to turn the light, fingers reach but hand to big to get thumb in as well. Tried compressing hand to get past hole but hand in bad position to manipulate the light and thunb not in place to get to light. I have that fuze box in the way. NO WAY am I removing wheel to get to light. This is a bullshit design.

He made it look so easy....... I’ve been killing my hand trying to get this light out
atleast i’m not the only one
Dude my hands are tore up. I tried to remove the light and broke some other stuff. I have done plenty of motor swaps and other work. This is oddly difficult. I’m now drinking.
My drivers side has just gone :-( did you replace with LED or just a normal Bulb ?
@@keithbaileymbe3365 I eventually replaced with LED bulbs made by Lasfit

Finally someone thats honest about it. All the other videos say just stick your hand up there and pull the bulb out. Not that easy. Thank you!!!
Great video!!! Best approach and most descriptive on the changing of the bulb process. Thank you!
Very good video, informative and easy to follow 😁 Thank you so much! Will save me $150!!
2:04 that's what she said!

Driver side DRL burnt out… it’s ridiculous that you have to remove the wheel and its well! Thanks for the video. 👏🏼
Clever editing...i know he took at least 30 mins to get that bulb lined up in there to turn it.
Which LED DRL bulbs are best for the Skoda Yeti 2017 ? Thanks
I spent 2 hours trying to get the drivers side bulb socket to come loose. It's just so tight and my hands are cut up very bad. I need help.
OGzGaming Juggernauts same lol
Michael L tell me if you ever get it and it's ridiculous how these vw engineers make it so we have to go to a dealership just to get a bulb out.
OGzGaming Juggernauts I got it out after about 40 minutes of struggling and bruising the hell out of my hand, but thankfully they look nice and i wont have to worry about changing them out ever.

guillermo ortiz my brother thank you! As soon as I applied the wd 40 it twisted right off.
Thanks, a lot.
Excellent JETTA and video!!!
hi . ...do you ship these drls to India as well?
I need DRL and LowBeam bulbs for a 2015 VW Passat TSI SE 1.8. I tried navigating on y’alls site, but nothing was pulling up. Hope to hear from y’all.
Removing the fender for the driver side is a lot more easier than trying to find an awkward angle
Do u offer these type of bulbs for the headlights as well??
Thanks a lot for this video but my god was that a pain in the ass to do. The driver's side bulbs are so hard to get out that i had to use pliers and when i finally pulled it out of the socket my old bulb burst and glass is all in my headlight.
Great presentation. Thank you so much for showing us how to change the daytime running light.
are they CAN-BUS compliant? Dash light after install? built in resistors?
No lights on the dash with any of our RFB Lighting products, 100% can-bus compliant, and yes -- built in resistors. Even better! Lifetime warranty as well!
Will it pass state inspection?
do you know which one is the fuse for those lights?
Link for the bulb?
Are these T20 size??
Nice tanks !

What size led light?
Hi, I already install the right and left DLR bulbs but they are not working, I have a 2012 jetta style active, could it be a fuses problem?, can u help me to identify what else need to check
Jorge G. D. They are polar sensitive so try them the other way around, they have to be in the right way
Jorge G. D. Your drl is probably shut off. Look in the manual on how to turn them on.
THANK YOU for the Alt approach for the driver side!!!! I have large hands and can barly do the headlamp, but the drl . Anyway thanks again!
I bought led lights and my dash light won’t go off ?
Where they this brand?
Thank you this helped a lot.. great camera quality bad camera man🤦
Why would an LED Light like this not trigger a code but say a Sylvania LED 6000k bulb would? Thanks
It has a built in resister so it doesnt throw off a code
The only Caitlin thanks for that reply. Soon after this comment, I did my research and figured that out lol. I also purchased these bulbs. They’re CAN-BUS compatible and therefore wont through a code.
Thank you
scale of 2 to 5?
Thanks very much
The main reason in my opion as a vw owner not to buy vw... Thx!
Dude focus the camera
Guys just loosen your bumper and take out the headlights. Spent over 2 hours fooling around with the drivers side. Just take the headlight out!
Peter G I actually try to unscrew the bumper then the headlights? Did it once with a friend. Still couldn’t get to it. Such a pain in the ass. Unless I did wrong. What’s your suggestion? Can you explain it in detail
