    Also back plates for front door handles to stop quick screw driver access and OBD security. Park van nose in on drive to stop towing. Turn seat when just nipping in to services.

    Here's a good tip...thread your seat belt buckles though the door handles then across your front seats and click them into your seat belt holder...they cannot open the front doors 😁 I can only just open our doors an inch..😉

      I use a ratchet strap from one door to the other but first I turn the passenger seat round then I fold the driver seat right the way down then put the ratchet strap across, it might not stop them but it will slow them down enough for to perhaps scare them off.

    • @2.4inaVan
      @2.4inaVan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that's true. They could also break in through any of the habitation windows. My view is that if someone wants to get in, they will. However, I want to make it unattractive for them. Someone crawling in through a window or standing on the roof would raise more suspicion than someone walking through the hab door. What do you think?

    Before you drill and cut holes in the bodywork of your van, check the conditions of the manfufacturers warrenty for water ingress and damp. If a 3rd party does it, outside of the main dealers, then it can invalidate that part of the warrenty I believe.

    I use one for my campervan, but face the locking mechanism towards the bulkhead, so that the thief cannot drill the lock out. You get used to locking and unlocking it blindly. God knows how I'd get it off and it I lost my keys though. 😱😱

  • @elpresidente8730
    @elpresidente8730 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Opportunists look for easy pickings so if you leave your blinds down or valuables out of sight they probably won't bother. A simple solution to stop the pedal lock slipping would be a couple of velcro pads. I really like that product so will be getting one for my MH. Totally agree that manufacturers should be upping their game (long overdue) as far as door locks are concerned, they could easily fit something akin to a domestic double glazed 4 point locking door.

    we've had 2 attemps at opening our door and both time the robber was using a device that unlocks the door that can bought easily, there's videos on you tube showing how to do it .
    I've got my lock upside down now so when they try to turn the key to open it they are in fact turning the key the wrong way, last time they tried it their device snapped off in the lock where they were turning it so hard

    • @raykyte79
      @raykyte79 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no but I do have 2 bolts on the inside of the doors that's stopped them opening the door last time, I got woken up at about 3.00ish with the van rocking , they had managed to unlock the side door using a device but it was the pulling of the door against the bolts that woke me up, i crept up to the door and saw the button going up and down where they were turning the lock but the bolts kept the door shut, I just banged loudly on the door also the dog barking made them run away
