Thank you for your video. Sorry because of my english. I speak spanish and my english is not good. I have a caravan one year ago and i learn a lot with videos like yours. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I really apreciate.
Hi Martin, another great video, I fitted a set of 3 frame fit Fiamma locks to my MH on the large locker doors & also fitted the frame fit milenco sliding one to habitation door last year before we went to France as deterant,
Great idea Martin. Looks pretty good on the van and easy to fit 👍🏻 Problem I have is that I don’t have a hello kitty pencil 🤔Thanks for sharing. Graham
Good little device and should slow anyone down trying to get in , there are so many security items now and vans are still being taken perhaps we should be tackling the root cause ? If you haven’t watched it Grand Adventure has just done a security blog for boondocking in the US shows a different approach Thanks for sharing G&Z
Hi Martin. I have just fitted the Milenco hand rail with twin locks as that doubles as a security device as it has two locks top and bottom which can be locked across the door. It also has the added bonus of a good handle to steady yourself in and out of the van. Using the door frame bracket, the fitting is the same as the lock you fitted.
Hi Steve, I’ve seen those, they look pretty sturdy. The bar goes over quite a lot of the door so will make it very secure. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 🙂
I only got one to cover a dent after the wind caught a table as I was putting it through the door lol... But now I have fitted it, it is such a good aid to safely getting in and out of the van even though I am fit and able, I use it all the time... Great videos and look forward to many more..
What a neat product! an additional leval of security simply fitted by you, again your vids are exceptional info?, When I first looked at the name of your vid, "fitting a door frame lock" I thought, oh eck! this sounds a bit diff? (no idea what a frame lock is?, do now!). but I have "saw the light" and realised "Yus, this is fine & dandy way to add to locking my van".
I installed a similar door frame lock by their competitor, Milenco. They're nice sturdy locks. Having a big lock blocking the door tells criminals you're not there, which could be both a good and bad thing. With a regular lock, a criminal doesn't know if people are inside sleeping, but having the big door frame lock tells the criminal you're not there so he knows he can break in without someone screaming.
It’s just another layer of security on your van. If there is a van next to you with no additional lock they, in theory, might go for the easiest one to get into. Thanks for comments and watching
Great video and the lock looks good although I think I would prefer one that could be operated from inside so you can use it night as a bit of extra security when sleeping.
The lock works really well and was easy to fit. Never heard of a break in whilst someone’s in the van, in summer we often have the windows open at night & never really worried us. Thanks for watching 🙂
Great little lock wish I bought one of them I fitted the milenco lock I suppose I could still fit one for extra security I like the idea of not drilling the side walls. Great video mate
Fitted one of these to my motorhome after watching this video. I found the gap between the door and the lock quite wide so ordered a spacer kit. The kit arrived but the spacers are completely the wrong shape. Seems Fiamma don't make spacers for the new style lock so it isn't much use. The lock can easily be removed by prying behind it thus damaging the door and the frame. Great video's by the way. I'm still catching up with them all. ;-)
Hi Stu, the spacers I got weren't an exact fit as they seemed slightly bigger than the lock. I still fitted them and they don't look too bad. Thanks for the feedback and watching, Martin
Hi odd question have you ever needed to tighten the kitchen tap ? On the Valencia also any idea where to find a front a frame fairing mine fell off last week lost forever it’s the white plastic bit under gas locker & behind grey part
Nice video Martin. I must get one of these for my S1 Unicorn Seville. I don't think I can fit one that can be operated from inside due to obstructions inside the van. What size pilot hole did you drill?
Hi, I had put them in too ... but then one day in Saint Cyprien in France, two hammer blows were enough to open it and a screwdriver to break into the original lock, they didn't steal anything because inside I had my 42 kg Belgian shepherd who was keeping watch! And I replaced it ... watch video on my channel ! There is also door locking in front ...
You’re costing me money again Martin!😂 Great video and looks a good product, easy to fit and worth the investment Thanks for this upload Regards- Howard
Would I be right in saying that it's not a case of 1 size fits all caravans i.e. Were the lock is screwed into the door frame so how would you know what lock is suitable for my van ??
Hi Alan, some doors are different and the door surround also needs to be considered, what van do you have? You should be able to search it on the internet and someone might have done the job on the same van as yours, or contact Fiamma who might be able to help, thanks Martin
This is something I wondered before buying, there is no data on the measurement on the internet. To answer your question....I can’t remember! it didn’t cover the whole door frame width, possibly about 3cm. I will be going up to the caravan at some point this week so will measure it. cheers
Thank you. You made it very simple and easy to follow, well done. My only criticism is that you should have been wearing some sort of eye protection, one bit of stray swarf and you could have ended up with a serious eye injury!
Sounds a bit daft, depends on how old your van is. My warranty is expired. If you have a external gas or electric point put your van I was told that the area that has been cut is exempt from the warranty. I would check up on it.
The problem with this lock design, in my opinion, if that you cannot use the lock while you are inside your RV, only when you are outside your RV. So if you are inside your RV, and someone comes along, they can still pop the manufacturer's lock to get inside and have their way with you. Which makes no sense to me...if I am going to pay for and install an additional lock, I want to be able to lock it for added protection while I am inside, sleeping....
@@TheCaravanNut Well, with this lock there just isn't even the option. Forget campsite - no option to use the lock if parked over night - in an urban area, rest stop, parking lot, road side - stealth mode or not. Other locks provide that option. But it is what a person wants...for me, I think I would want to be able to use the lock if am inside, with a latch for quick exit if need be. Other locks appear to provide that ability which makes them more useful and flexible to me. But if you want a lock that you can only use when you are away from the van, then you found one.
I’m going to fit one of these to my van simple reason I cant get a milenco one to fit as there isn’t enough space to fit it because of a cupboard in way . I was once told you only lock your valuables to an honest person because if a air breathing scumbag thieving --ard wants it they will break in anyway😢

Thank you for your kind words and watching the videos. I’m glad you find them helpful. Enjoy your caravanning, Martin
Hi just fitted the Fiamma door frame lock after watching your video, so easily to install also great service from the caravan shop.thanks
Hi Colin, Glad the fit went well, nice easy job. There will be an update on the lock tomorrow. Thanks for watching, Martin 😊
Another great job done... thanks for sharing Martin.
Cheers Ian, Thanks for the support. Martin 🙂
The Fiamma door lock is a great product. We have had ours on for 8 months with no issues at all. Great video! 👍
Hi Gareth, simple and easy to use. Thanks for the feedback and watching 😊

Hi Bryn, simple product and easy to fit. Another visual deterrent worth the money I think. Thanks for the feedback and watching, Martin 😊
Great job Martin
Cheers Bob 😊
Nice little job Martin, if we get bored of caravan polishing seems to be an opening to supply Hello Kitty pencils 😂🤣
Hi Colin, I’ve placed a bulk order of the pencils just in case ! 😂 Thanks for your support 😊
Well done on your 2k subs. Great job and please keep doing what you are doing. We all enjoy your vids very much. Nick.
Cheers Nick, will try to keep the vids coming. Thanks for the support, Martin 😊
Another great video thank you Martin.
Thanks for taking the time to watch, Martin
This was well done. Very easy to follow. Thank you for putting it together!
Thanks for the feedback and watching 😊
Hi Martin another good video and will be looking into getting one of those locks for myself thanks for the tip as always .kev
Hi Kev, A good easy to use and fit lock. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 😊
The caravan shop in Glasgow is really helpful
Hi Bob, really good service from the shop and reasonably priced. Thanks for watching, Martin 😊
Its a good lock fiitted one myself , although i had to buy spacers to make it flush to the door so one cant getva croe bar down it to snap it off.
Hi, good point, didn’t think about that. For me it’s more of a visual deterrent. Thanks for comments and watching 😊

Hi Greg, decent product and not a bad price. Very easy to fit. Thanks for watching 😊
Great video, inspired me to put one on today, really was a 10minute job. Thanks
Hi Mark, yes nice easy job for a bit of added security, cheers Martin

Cheers Phil, another easy job to do. Martin 😊
An easy looking job, may even attempt this one myself. 👍🏼
Very easy to do, if I can do it anyone can 😂 Thanks for watching, Martin 😊
Great video. Like you say they are a good deterrent. We had the milenco one fitted which is very similar.
Thanks, hopefully make it a little more secure. Very easy lock to fit. Thanks for watching 🙂
Great video mate, these are a great idea for that added bit of security! 👍🏻

I did as a bit of extra security and didn’t want to drill into the side of the van, it’s been a decent lock. Thanks for comments and watching
Great Video! It's very useful!
Thanks for watching 😊
Spot on 👍 if you get it from go outdoors they will beat the caravan shop price by a further 10%
That’s interesting to know Lee, I like a bargain. Thanks for watching, Martin 🙂
great video, my next addition the van.
Hi John, it’s a decent second lock which is easy to fit. Thanks for watching, Martin
Nice one Martin
Cheers Steven, hope you are well 👍

Hi odd question have you ever needed to tighten the kitchen tap ? On the Valencia also any idea where to find a front a frame fairing mine fell off last week lost forever it’s the white plastic bit under gas locker & behind grey part
Not had to tighten the tap up. For the fairing try KTG caravans and campers. Cheers
We plan to get one of these! But I don’t know if it would fit correctly due to me not having a hello kitty pencil🤣 Cheers Oliver
😂😂😂😂
Yes Oliver the hello kitty pencil is vital! 😂 Thanks for watching 😊
Hi love the videos. Did you know you can get a spaces to go so there is not so much gap between the door and the lock
Hi Steve, Thanks for the feedback. I discovered the spacers today! 😏 Will have to do an update on it. Thanks for watching, Martin 😊
What size pilot drill did you use for fixing the screws? Thanks
Don’t know what size it was, I just used a small steel bit to make a hole in the aluminium frame and it seemed to work. Cheers
Nice video Martin. I must get one of these for my S1 Unicorn Seville. I don't think I can fit one that can be operated from inside due to obstructions inside the van. What size pilot hole did you drill?

didn't you need to drill internally too?
No, it fits to the door frame!
