wow I feel like a big burden just went off my shoulders. I was extremely procrastinating with stuff that's actually not that hard to accomplish but my mind was always focusing on my vague assumptions and was always overwhelmed by it. I will practice more awareness on each task now and start with positive self-talk thank you!
We should first of all develop Emotional Intelligence in ourselves. Not only is it doable but also shows great effects! I’ve been observing my clients working on their EQ with me and their results are astonishing!
Fantastic speech. Why is this not getting a thousand as many views? I admire your passion for the topic and appriciate you shared these results and a bit of your knowledge so much. This attitude makes the world better!
+Péter Ádám Perczel Thanks so much for the kind feedback Peter! It's people like you who give educators the strength to continue on our path. Have a wonderful week!
Beautiful. The example you used with geometrical shapes blew me away. i never thought of it that way. What a powerful and experential example to make people aware of importance of mindfulness and emotional intelligence in such a short time. i am very happy listening to this talk. thank you so much.
Excellent presentation Ronen - I so totally agree with you - I don't believe this is happening in Aussie schools and I believe that proactive management of emotions is the key to finding balance and happiness... at all levels of being. Thank you for this talk.
Thank you! Shared. I learned, practiced, researched, advocated, created, and now am actively teaching active meditation utilizing mindful breathing. :) Lovely talk. Ty.

Good day, this is one of the most logical videos I have seen. This gentleman is very wise with his words and brings therm to the surface of the table in easy ways to understand. I enjoy hearing different ways of moving our minds into different directions of where it is headed. This information will bring me into places I have never been before, Thank you for sharing the information.
Wonderful talk, Roni. Hard to think of a more worthy application of social interaction skills training than to promote the emotional health of growing minds. Such skills are incredibly valuable for promoting positive thought, focus, and creativity - for both introverts and extroverts alike. The ability to empathize and adapt to an evolving social interaction can lead to very beneficial results such as building trust and rapport with others, which in turn will improve the collaborations required by the modern day workforce. Becoming aware of these skills at an early age gives children even more time to put these skills to good use - personally and professionally. Thanks for sharing your vision!
I wish they wouldn't slap the word intelligence on it. 'Intelligence' suggests that it's innate and unchanging. If as he says "it's a skill that's completely trainable" then it's not intelligence.
Great talk, Roni! I really look forward to talking and working with you more on this stuff. I agree 100% with everything you said. Our kids, our community, our culture needs this. I too had the fear of what would happen if I spent time meditating with my students (in a science class no less), and like you the response has been positive for 3 years now. Students and parents thank me for taking this time with them and sharing with them these life skills. It is one of the best and most meaningful things I've done as an educator, and in my own life.
My high school had Life Skills presentations like this in the 90's, but it was a private Catholic school. My friends who were in public schools did not have them. I think it would be awesome if they could have had those opportunities, too.
It’s true-emotions are contagious, and it’s called emotional contagion. Learn what science and research says about how easy it is to “catch” other’s emotions, positive and negative. Sapien heard that laughter is contagious. Older Sapien may have also heard sapien say a sapien are a “sympathetic crier,” meaning if a sapien see a sapien crying a sapien unforcibly start tearing up too, even though sapien don’t have a reason to cry. It’s funny how a sapien "can take on" the emotions of another viewed, as if emotions or feelings are contagious. But it’s true-emotions can really be contagious. It’s called emotional contagion, and sharing emotions tendly happen easier than a sapien’d think. Emotional contagion is simply when a one person’s emotions or behaviors are mimicked by a another person’s. Often times, these emotions or behaviors happen subconsciously. According to “Are a Sapien Catching a Other Sapien's Emotions?” in U.S. World and News Report, upbeat emotions such as enthusiasm and joy, as well as negative ones such as sadness, fear and anger, are easily passed from a one person to a another, often without either "party" realizing it.
I'm looking for simple definitions of emotions and feelings. Is there a book or journal article similar to the feelings wheel but with them defined or explained? Example: Angry is being treated unfair or the perception of. Anxiety might be fear of the future. I always listen to these talks and it's all about the research. Ronen had some excellent points, but actual definitions of emotions would be wonderful. Not looking for dictionary definitions.
YES, NEEDS to be taught both in the schools and in the home as a normal, daily sort of study.
A biiiiiiig thank you from a Moroccan teacher who totally agrees witn you that emotional intelligence and mindfulness pay off. God bless you.
