    Loving the setup Joe! Been a big help getting my own setup sorted and good to see another Aussie making content for us here, It's such a niche in Australia but the community helps so much

      Thanks mate! I'll definitely sub to your channel. Hopefully it will start to grow more in AUS. The hard thing is getting all the good quality gear here! Exporting from the states is expensive 🫰 and the shipping costs almost double the cost of things.

      @@JLagGOLF Literally, my business brain just triggers opportunity with our market here.. Was so lucky to get a really good used screen from a local shop up in the Gold Cost (shout out to Bayside Golf)
      Going to build out the panels you got there, you definitely inspired me they look smart as! (this is the golf sim rabbit hole!)
      Got some videos coming out soon now that i'm all setup, and thanks for the comment! :)

      @@WithSeb I know exactly what you mean! I feel the same way. Yeah Bayside have done a great job it's good to see them giving it a crack and I'm happy to support them as much as I can with this small platform. In Australia there is such an opportunity for Sim golf.. it's only going to get bigger here.

    Joe, this is just such a great video! Just brilliant and so informative and helpful for the home sim market. This really needs to get out there with views so people can hear what you have to say. Thanks for the shout out with the panels, you did a great job making them and explaining it. The great thing with them is if ever one section gets torn or beaten up so bad you just replace it, also you can get super creative with colors and patterns to make a bay truly its own. When you do ever upgrade the bay floor ill explain how to build the gravity fed ball retrieval:-) I really do hope your channel just explodes and you get the exposure and awareness you deserve. That BenQ projector is amazing for sure. As you know I love your work, I'm a massive fan and will keep supporting you any way I can. LOVE the hitting turf concept!

    Awesome Joe. Loved to see how your hitting strips are evolving. I followed your last video on making one and its been mint! I use the cheap durable tuff turf from Bunnings, and with a dash of water on it (im outside with a r10), the life span seems to be be good.

      Thanks mate! Yeah it's starting to get there.. taken a few different iterations. Nice I'll have to check out the tuff turf as well!

      Thanks Elliot I got it from Clark Rubber you can pay for it by the Metre and they have a big selection of colours if you want to get fancy!

      @@JLagGOLF thanks for the reply. It seems they have 2 options, one being "Premium" with 12 color options, and the standard with 5 colour options. The Premium isn't available at my local store unfortunately. Do you remember which option you went with? Thanks again

      @@daffo911 So I am away from home at the moment with work and don't have the receipt. I have just looked at all my pictures and videos and I am 99.9 percent sure that it's the Raven one. So the cheaper one.. and that's just looking at the pattern of the actual material and I also remember the Raven name ringing a bell. If you have an email or if you hit me up on FB messenger I can send you a close up of the vinyl if you want.

    I was looking at the tee turf matt myself. I'm in AUS aswell I might go down the hitting strip options

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Tom I can honestly say do a hitting strip! It's the best thing I've done. If you aren't going to putt you could make it with a more durable hitting turf so you don't need to swap it out all the time. The only reason I went with the putting turf is I wanted the smoothest surface possible for putting.
      My elbows are still recovering from not having the divot action strip tbh but they are a LOT better and getting better everyday. That said I do it down on the ball quite a lot with the irons.
      Forgot to say then you can go cheaper on your stance mat and just build it up to the height you make your strip!

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tom-vt6fv Yeah unfortunately for us in Aus there aren't really a lot of options! I know kaizen sell them but from the images I saw they didn't look great.. I might have to get one and test it.. it just didn't look like it had and foam under the polycarbonate board which concerns me. I could be wrong and it could be great. I'd definitely like to know what putting turf they use on the top 🤣

    Great video, just wondering - how do you control temperature / moisture in the room?

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really good question! I have a fan that I use when it gets hot apart from that I haven't done anything to specifically control the environment. I have tried to block out the elements coming into the room especially around the garage door but I haven't installed an AC unit or anything like that... Yet

    Gday Joe. Just wondering where you got your polycarbonate sheet for the hitting strip from? The acrylic sheet on my one just shattered from an overly steep wedge shot!

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ed get it from acrylics online!
      CLEAR POLYCARBONATE SHEET 3MM (CUSTOM SIZE)
      It's actually really reasonably priced as well.

    Can you link to what soft foam you used in the hitting strip? I made one myself, but it doesn't feel like it has enough give to it for me. Thanks.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate I actually bought it in store so I can't link it unfortunately... I went to a local foam supplier and felt the foam density before buying it so I could be sure it had enough give. It's definitely more of a softer to medium density foam. I also bought some online that I thought would be good (door foam). It ended up being way too dense and I immediately got rid of it.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate in a shop called spotlight here in Australia.. you can buy fabric by the Metre.. so I just went in and found a thick black fabric and bought 2 X 5m lengths... It's 3m in width so it's perfect for my 2.7m high ceilings.

      Yes that is the one drawback 😭 the actual image you get though... Is just absolutely incredible. Its like having a massive 4k tv.
