@AutoTrader I definitely will. More used car reviews would be nice. I love the way your company is not detached from their customers, responding to their TH-cam comments. It is not something you see very often among larger companies. I have used Autotrader to buy and sell every car I have owned and sold for these very reasons.
I bought an 04 auto EX back around the time this video came out. Absolutely loved it! This body style was my favorite and I could get 40 mpg. It got totaled unfortunately... have since moved onto a 14 Accord. The 04 Civic is what made me a Honda devotee!

You'll definitely find some cars in your price range, but they'll likely be a little older or have fewer options. Cars listed by private sellers will likely be cheaper -- but it's harder to check on their reputation and you may have fewer options if something goes wrong. With a car of this age, it's definitely worth spending $100-200 getting it inspected by a trusted mechanic before you buy.
I own a 2004 EX Coupe and I actually average at least 38MPG on the highway, cruising at 70+, and have gotten up to 42 at some points. I love my car, especially since I got it for a lowly $3000 with nothing wrong with it and only 72000 miles back in Dec 2010!

Do not buy 2001-2003 models or even '04. They have a ton of transmission, engine, and trim problems. Don't believe me? just go to edmunds.com and sort the ratings from low to high. Too many lemons. If you buy this car only buy the 2005 models because those are the only ones that perform like real hondas
i bought my 2003 honda civic EX automatic new. it's been the best car i've owned, BY FAR. the stereo was subpar, so i swapped that out right away. as far as non-maintenance repairs, i've spent under $1,000 in a 10 yr period. most of that has been exhaust/emissions related, along with an alternator at about the 9 yr mark. i average about 30 mpg, combined but that's probably 65-70% city driving and i drive with a very heavy foot. wish i would've bought a honda even earlier than i did.
You are wrong, the 87-00 model civics are up there in terms of theft. Starting 2004 when they changed the key and changed the body style in 2001 the civic is no longer prone to theft. I used to own a v2004 civic lx 5speed manual and can leave my car unlocked and people cant steal my car due to the new key design and lack of interest from the people. 7th gen appealed to regular consumers not ricers. No one races with the 7th gen body except for professional dragster.
My mom has a 2005 Honda Civic Lx Auto in the dark shiny blue color! The car held up amazing after 133k! Should of gotten the Ex in the same color since it's a rare combination. The 115hp is responsive but can be sluggish! it has it days
05 civic is my favorite car. what new car today is similar? i find the new civics got more bulkier and the dashboard is longer makes it harder to see the road when driving, cornering etc...
This Civic generation have major problems with head gasket failure. But it is a rewarding car if you like working on cars due to its price and fuel economy
