Immortal Songs 2 is a TV show running on KBS. All the songs in the medley are songs from older generations/legendary singers/composers/songwriters that mamamoo have performed on that show.

JazzyCheeks They weren't written by them, however the purpose of Immortal Song (The show) is that groups re-arrange/remix the songs of older, legendary, singers. So the arrangement+raps are those of Mamamoo, which also shows that they're not just idols but also musicians. :) Loved your reactions! I'm a new subscriber! Before you check out "I Love Too", here's some backstory. The first ever surprise that Moomoos (Mamamoo fandom) did for Mamamoo was hold up signs that, in a rough translation says "Never Letting Go" or "We won't let go" during one of their live performances. Edit: This happened a little time after their debut (2014). Mamamoo was deeply touched because they belong to a very small company, RBW. They were RBW's first group and they had very few fans. To see them organize something for them was very heartwarming. Mamamoo couldn't stop but cry during that performance. "I Love Too" is their reply to the fans. It has lyrics saying ("I wont let go", neither will I. I promise for all eternity) which is the promise between Mamamoo and Moomoos that we will stay strong and never let go. Also, Solar (leader and oldest member) wrote a song for her members and the moomoos as a thank you called "Star Wind Flower Sun" (which relates to the members. Moonbyul [byul means star], Wheein as Wind, Hwasa as Flower and Solar as Sun).

JazzyCheeks YOOO! Just so you know, if you do "I love you too" by Mamamoo, it's a song written by the girls specifically for/to Moomoos (their fans) and the lyrics will reflect that. Just an FYI, cause reactors always ask what it's about after, usually guessing it's a love song (which it is, tho just not how you'd assume it traditionally aka romantic). Also, the backstory to it is that when they were just starting out (circa 2014) the OG moomoos (which were very few) organized holding up signs during a small event that said "Never Letting Go." The girls cried while they performed and went on to write "I Love (You) Too." So, from then on Mamamoo and Moomoos have made a promise of "never letting go" of each other :)

for me, the reason why i prefer to watch their live performances so much, is simply that mamamoo BELONG on stage. they really seem to thrive there, interacting with the crowd, doing ad libs and having fun performing. they have this... undeniable stage presence. and i also really do love watching their mvs, but watching them live is like, heart stoppingly good! my favourite mvs are piano man (which has the old school vibe so i think you'll like it), decalcomanie (vocalssssssssss! definitely check it out live as well!), and egotistic. and if you want more immortal songs, love story of a girl is my favourite- it always makes me cry! and you in my faded memory is a totally different vibe, super hype, incredible stage performance

I've followed Mamamoo since debut but I still get chills when I rewatch all their live performances haha Way to Sampo is my ultimate fave Immortal Song performance til this day which says a lot considering how amazing every single performance is. I hope you can also do a Mamamoo guide and story. There's Mamamoo's Story by What Girl and also her Ultimate Intro. to Mamamoo on the same channel. Wonderful Confessions, they won a trophy. They won 3. Beating the senior artists on that contest. They were called Monster Rookies when they first joined it. That first performance was awesome, everyone was so surprised on how good they are. JazzyCheeks if it is a try not to cry challenge, then I would suggest “I love too (never letting go)“ from the mamamoo channel and “I miss you” from queendom. Both of these were directly to mamamoo fans (moomoos). And my prediction is that you will fail. Even mamamoo failed. They are so cute. For I miss you they could not look at their fans.
What's the point? The point is because its something you want. And these girls shouldn't make you feel like asking "what's the point", they're a great example of when you push hard enough for what you want, you'll be rewarded. Solar started her career late, and cause of that no one wanted to hire her. 50+ failed auditions just cause she was in her 20s. Now she's recognized as one of the best Idol Vocalists. Hwasa was told as a _child_ that despite her being a good singer, she was fat and not pretty. It hurt her, but she didnt let that stop her from being a singer, and now shes one of the most famous and loved idols right now. There's always someone better in some way, yes, but with hard work and persistence, you can accomplish whatever you want. Oof, I rambled... also, sorry moos made you cry by recommending this to you😭

It's wild to think that these girls went through those troubles considering how talented they are! It doesn't make sense to me that Solar was rejected over 50 times with her phenomenal voice just because of her age. It's also kind of terrifying that 20 something is considered too old... And I can't imagine someone telling a child that they're not attractive and won't have a future even though they're obviously talented. That's freaking awful, that really pissed me off. I'm really happy that they stuck with what made them happy and are now living their dreams!

i see others talked a bit about the show 'immortal songs 2' but i'm gonna pull a me and go more in depth (...apologies in advance. i kinda write essays...) is2 is a competition show that stages various musical artists against each other, each week the guests all sing songs with a specific theme, usually focused around a performer, composer or lyricist who has a lot of music considered timeless or important to koreans for whatever reason. sometimes they'll also do themes like 'love' or 'spring' or the like, that give a bit more variety, but usually it's focused around a singer or lyricist. they've actually got two episodes around western artists, a michael jackson episode and a michael bolton episode (bolton was actually there for it, since he was touring in south korea at the time). unless it's a posthumous show, the artist/lyricist is usually sitting front and center watching the various performances and gets to comment on each one (the guy with glasses that the cameras kept cutting to in "wonderful confession" was the original singer for that song) the guests usually come from a wide variety of backgrounds, though all are generally heavily influential musical artists of some sort. you'll see musical theatre actors, r&b artists, traditional korean musicians, trot singers (a uniquely korean musical genre originally based around foxtrot), punk musicians, rockers and more in the various episodes. kpop idols do get invited fairly frequently, but it's usually solo artists or individual members known for being extremely good vocalists. idol groups tend to only be invited once, maybe twice, as a whole mamamoo has been on the show 14 times, by far the most of any group (i think one boy group technically has them beat, but only if you count individual members being invited, not just the group as a whole). the first time they were on the show was 6 months after their debut and they scared senior artists they were up against, singers with 20+ years of experience. they won 3 times, which is quite impressive considering just how great the competition tends to be (immortal songs is actually how i got into mamamoo, i watched the show every week) and were also invited to the 'best of the best' episode one year, the only idol group ever invited to such an episode (they didn't expect to come anywhere near winning, so decided to just have fun with the song they did) the girls made a name for themselves vocally with the show and also made it a second home. they were invited back less and performed a second time less than a month after their first performance on the show, got to know the staff pretty closely with their frequent appearances. and when were back on it after an extended break, said it felt good to be back and that they'd missed individual staff from the program. (it was a shorter break than the one between their last two songs on the show, "violet fragrance" and "meeting". between those two they had their year long 'four seasons' project that took up the majority of their time) if you'd like, i could give you a list of each of their performances in order. but do also want to warn you that some of the songs are known to get blocks or copyright strikes pretty easily. it seems totally random on who kbs will hit with those... some reactors will upload and things will be just fine, others upload the exact same stuff and get hit. it's the only real problem with reacting to immortal songs or sketchbook performances. which is unfortunate considering how great the performances on both those programs tend to be also, i see a lot have been mentioning "passion flower", one of their earlier performances. it's really a great one (i mean, all of them are) and there's also an early epsiode of mamamootv (mmmtv) that shows how they went about preparing that, spending 4 days working on vocals, line distribution, choreography and more

Girl, I fell out of my chair in awe. I have been singing all my life and I know greatness when I hear it. I thought this can't be real, I have to watch another live vid to make sure. Well, that was in Feb. 2017 and I'm still in awe of their vocals, their stage performances, and their down to earth charms and loving hearts. Bonus they write the majority of their songs and Moonbyul writes all her raps. Yes, all of it. Moon is also an amazing singer with a unique voice. Got them honey vocals. Then maybe go to some of their old stuff like Mr.Ambiguous and then Piano man (Try to fin with subtitles, especially for Mr.A). A popular thing is also to do all of the girls solo tracks, like one girl at a time with 3-4 of their solo songs :) And do I even have to say have fun with it and enjoy it? With Mamamoo that goes without saying ;)

I'm with you, I'm surprised at how much I'm actually digging videos from some of these girl groups. The difference with mamamoo though, is that maybe because of how long they've been at the game, you can see glimpses of their personalities in the music videos. When they're on stage, their personalities really shine in how they can communicate with each other through singing and even just through looks. For some reason I feel like they connect more to an audience than some of the other girl groups.

I think thats part of why i love them so much.. i feel like they do a little more with their performance connecting to the audience, not like the other groups don't but.. something gives me the little exra sweetnes and warmth the way they do it. And you can totaly see and hear the personalities and the bond the girls have and have made together through their performances.. the melodies/harmonising and everything.. They feel comfortable doing it ect.

JazzyCheeks They weren't written by them, however the purpose of Immortal Song (The show) is that groups re-arrange/remix the songs of older, legendary, singers. So the arrangement+raps are those of Mamamoo, which also shows that they're not just idols but also musicians. :) Loved your reactions! I'm a new subscriber! I'd also recommend "I Love You Too" + Be calm of Hwasa (it's about her uncle who sadly passed away, she was very close to him).
Before you check out "I Love Too", here's some backstory. The first ever surprise that Moomoos (Mamamoo fandom) did for Mamamoo was hold up signs that, in a rough translation says "Never Letting Go" or "We won't let go" during one of their live performances.
Edit: This happened a little time after their debut (2014). Mamamoo was deeply touched because they belong to a very small company, RBW. They were RBW's first group and they had very few fans. To see them organize something for them was very heartwarming.
Mamamoo couldn't stop but cry during that performance. "I Love Too" is their reply to the fans. It has lyrics saying ("I wont let go", neither will I. I promise for all eternity) which is the promise between Mamamoo and Moomoos that we will stay strong and never let go.
Also, Solar (leader and oldest member) wrote a song for her members and the moomoos as a thank you called "Star Wind Flower Sun" (which relates to the members. Moonbyul [byul means star], Wheein as Wind, Hwasa as Flower and Solar as Sun).

JazzyCheeks YOOO! Just so you know, if you do "I love you too" by Mamamoo, it's a song written by the girls specifically for/to Moomoos (their fans) and the lyrics will reflect that. Just an FYI, cause reactors always ask what it's about after, usually guessing it's a love song (which it is, tho just not how you'd assume it traditionally aka romantic).
Also, the backstory to it is that when they were just starting out (circa 2014) the OG moomoos (which were very few) organized holding up signs during a small event that said "Never Letting Go." The girls cried while they performed and went on to write "I Love (You) Too." So, from then on Mamamoo and Moomoos have made a promise of "never letting go" of each other :)

for me, the reason why i prefer to watch their live performances so much, is simply that mamamoo BELONG on stage. they really seem to thrive there, interacting with the crowd, doing ad libs and having fun performing. they have this... undeniable stage presence. and i also really do love watching their mvs, but watching them live is like, heart stoppingly good! my favourite mvs are piano man (which has the old school vibe so i think you'll like it), decalcomanie (vocalssssssssss! definitely check it out live as well!), and egotistic. and if you want more immortal songs, love story of a girl is my favourite- it always makes me cry! and you in my faded memory is a totally different vibe, super hype, incredible stage performance

THIS was the medley that turned me into their fan! Their powerful and mature vocals just don't match their young lovely faces, leaving audiences speechless. Like WOWWWW! Other groups might only have 1 or 2 people who can really sing, Mamamoo has everyone! A power group indeed!
Wonderful Confessions, they won a trophy. They won 3. Beating the senior artists on that contest. They were called Monster Rookies when they first joined it. That first performance was awesome, everyone was so surprised on how good they are.

JazzyCheeks if it is a try not to cry challenge, then I would suggest “I love too (never letting go)“ from the mamamoo channel and “I miss you” from queendom. Both of these were directly to mamamoo fans (moomoos). And my prediction is that you will fail. Even mamamoo failed. They are so cute. For I miss you they could not look at their fans.
What's the point? The point is because its something you want. And these girls shouldn't make you feel like asking "what's the point", they're a great example of when you push hard enough for what you want, you'll be rewarded.
Solar started her career late, and cause of that no one wanted to hire her. 50+ failed auditions just cause she was in her 20s. Now she's recognized as one of the best Idol Vocalists.
Hwasa was told as a _child_ that despite her being a good singer, she was fat and not pretty. It hurt her, but she didnt let that stop her from being a singer, and now shes one of the most famous and loved idols right now.
There's always someone better in some way, yes, but with hard work and persistence, you can accomplish whatever you want.

It's wild to think that these girls went through those troubles considering how talented they are! It doesn't make sense to me that Solar was rejected over 50 times with her phenomenal voice just because of her age. It's also kind of terrifying that 20 something is considered too old... And I can't imagine someone telling a child that they're not attractive and won't have a future even though they're obviously talented. That's freaking awful, that really pissed me off. I'm really happy that they stuck with what made them happy and are now living their dreams!

i see others talked a bit about the show 'immortal songs 2' but i'm gonna pull a me and go more in depth (...apologies in advance. i kinda write essays...)
is2 is a competition show that stages various musical artists against each other, each week the guests all sing songs with a specific theme, usually focused around a performer, composer or lyricist who has a lot of music considered timeless or important to koreans for whatever reason. sometimes they'll also do themes like 'love' or 'spring' or the like, that give a bit more variety, but usually it's focused around a singer or lyricist. they've actually got two episodes around western artists, a michael jackson episode and a michael bolton episode (bolton was actually there for it, since he was touring in south korea at the time). unless it's a posthumous show, the artist/lyricist is usually sitting front and center watching the various performances and gets to comment on each one (the guy with glasses that the cameras kept cutting to in "wonderful confession" was the original singer for that song)
the guests usually come from a wide variety of backgrounds, though all are generally heavily influential musical artists of some sort. you'll see musical theatre actors, r&b artists, traditional korean musicians, trot singers (a uniquely korean musical genre originally based around foxtrot), punk musicians, rockers and more in the various episodes. kpop idols do get invited fairly frequently, but it's usually solo artists or individual members known for being extremely good vocalists. idol groups tend to only be invited once, maybe twice, as a whole
mamamoo has been on the show 14 times, by far the most of any group (i think one boy group technically has them beat, but only if you count individual members being invited, not just the group as a whole). the first time they were on the show was 6 months after their debut and they scared senior artists they were up against, singers with 20+ years of experience. they won 3 times, which is quite impressive considering just how great the competition tends to be (immortal songs is actually how i got into mamamoo, i watched the show every week) and were also invited to the 'best of the best' episode one year, the only idol group ever invited to such an episode (they didn't expect to come anywhere near winning, so decided to just have fun with the song they did)
the girls made a name for themselves vocally with the show and also made it a second home. they were invited back less and performed a second time less than a month after their first performance on the show, got to know the staff pretty closely with their frequent appearances. and when were back on it after an extended break, said it felt good to be back and that they'd missed individual staff from the program. (it was a shorter break than the one between their last two songs on the show, "violet fragrance" and "meeting". between those two they had their year long 'four seasons' project that took up the majority of their time)
if you'd like, i could give you a list of each of their performances in order. but do also want to warn you that some of the songs are known to get blocks or copyright strikes pretty easily. it seems totally random on who kbs will hit with those... some reactors will upload and things will be just fine, others upload the exact same stuff and get hit. it's the only real problem with reacting to immortal songs or sketchbook performances. which is unfortunate considering how great the performances on both those programs tend to be
also, i see a lot have been mentioning "passion flower", one of their earlier performances. it's really a great one (i mean, all of them are) and there's also an early epsiode of mamamootv (mmmtv) that shows how they went about preparing that, spending 4 days working on vocals, line distribution, choreography and more

Girl, I fell out of my chair in awe. I have been singing all my life and I know greatness when I hear it. I thought this can't be real, I have to watch another live vid to make sure. Well, that was in Feb. 2017 and I'm still in awe of their vocals, their stage performances, and their down to earth charms and loving hearts. Now that you have seen some music videos you might want to learn about each individual girl. Purple Hawks introduction video (40 min long) is a long video but worth it!! Then maybe go to some of their old stuff like Mr.Ambiguous and then Piano man (Try to fin with subtitles, especially for Mr.A). A popular thing is also to do all of the girls solo tracks, like one girl at a time with 3-4 of their solo songs :) And do I even have to say have fun with it and enjoy it? With Mamamoo that goes without saying ;)

I'm with you, I'm surprised at how much I'm actually digging videos from some of these girl groups. The difference with mamamoo though, is that maybe because of how long they've been at the game, you can see glimpses of their personalities in the music videos. When they're on stage, their personalities really shine in how they can communicate with each other through singing and even just through looks. For some reason I feel like they connect more to an audience than some of the other girl groups.
