      The angles for tv broadcast are made for dramatic effect but there's no concept of how fast they're going. It's one of the things that's ruining it for fans I think, they charge crazy prices for tickets so people watch from home which is also expensive and not very exciting

    You can never truly appreciate the speed of F1 on a screen. You need to be there. The sheer violence of the car going round bends at such speed has to be seen in real life to be believed. Everyone thinks they would be able to drive an F1 car...they can't..they really can't.

    • @Mk1Male
      @Mk1Male 4 ปีที่แล้ว +67

      @Ferdinand Vanko Your evidence of this is where? When my friends and myself were young and not really F1 fans, we believed we could drive just as fast as the top drivers of the day. We didn't see it being that big of a thing. So that makes a mockery of your comment.

Also, I never said the majority of the population think they can drive as fast as a professional F1 driver, I said everyone thinks they would be able to drive an F1 car. That's completely different. It's perceptive compression, F1 camera angles use a long lens zooming in from further back so the speed difference is not very noticeable. Also when the cameras follow the cars (showing all of the sponsors' logo), you don't have the reference point to perceive the real speed of the car.
      The static, wide-angle cameras like in this video is much better in showing the real speed of these cars, but they don't show the logos very well.
