Even if someone is homeless, you do not let strangers into your home. Many people just like this kid were killed or robbed by the homeless people that they let into their home. A lot of homeless people (and even people who are well off), are mentally unstable. Also do not fall for the "I need a phone" trick, it is the oldest trick in the book and homeless people are provided with free phones. If anything, you can give them food and drink. If it is a homeless woman, you can give her sanitary napkins etc. We can be helpful and careful at the same time.

Yeah I’m never for just shooting a dude cause they look like they need help but this dude literally just killed 6 and injured scores of folks and has me straight paranoid. There a similar stories where this kid would be dead
What a stark difference between this witness and the defendant. The young man who unwittingly invited a mass murderer into his home, let him use his phone and even made him a sandwich is gentle, good-hearted and fundamentally decent. He was raised to be a productive, decent member of society. In contrast, aged 40, Darrell Brooks contributed nothing to society but mass murder, anti social behaviour, and children he did not financially support. And he will continue to live a pointless life and be a drain on society, with the taxpayer funding his bed and board while he continues to play the justice system with as many frivolous appeals as he can get in. What a pitiful waste of oxygen he is!
He had healthy boundaries. He had guns at home and knew how to use them. He made the criminal leave the moment he felt something was suspicious. He'd had a doorbell camera. He was nice but not defenceless.
Doesn't anyone watch _A Clockwork Orange_ anymore?? ...or classic SNL clips about the land shark? ...or even Mr. Nightmare's TH-cam channel? If that guy had come to my door with that story I would have shouted "sorry, I'm not home!" and turned off all the lights.
He is not awesome. He is irresponsible. He is LUCKY neither himself or anyone else close to him were hurt. That luck is nothing to admire. Men need to have better heads on their shoulders than this guy. Homeless people can go to a church if they need help, or countless government program offices...can't they??
This man is precious. He let him borrow his phone, warmed him with the literal coat he wears on his back, and offered him food to help with hunger. I honestly think Brooks subconsciously responded well to him bc of the generosity shown to him. After all, he did let him call his mama.
Yes, and that is precisely the type of man who lets a psychopathic maniac INTO HIS HOME. There is a lesson here that has societal impacts that almost none of you understand.
