I caught my breath when you said Audrey Hepburn. Then a tear came to my eye, she was the best you know. My Fair Lady was just a priceless movie. They just don't make actresses like her anymore. Rest in Peace.
Wayyyyy to young. I would have thought her grave site would have been set up like a bit of a shrine , ya know, but it is very very tasteful, respectfully. Goosebumps... and I have to watch this one again
I enjoyed visiting Tolochenaz in the 1990s. I went late in the day and nobody was there, so I got to touch her grave and pay my respects in private. The graveyard is simple with countryside views. At the time there was a small museum in the town with her Oscar and acting things on display, but I think there was a falling out with the family & museum and her things were returned. Her house is very pretty too, just like Audrey.
I am so stoked that Freddie Mercury was included in this video. Montreux was such a big part of Queen's and Freddie's and rock & roll's history. This is where Queen and David Bowie collaborated to write "Under Pressure". His having probably the best voice in rock music, if you really want to hear (and appreciate) his vocal talents listen to his operatic collaboration w/ Monserrat Caballé and their song, " Barcelona"... It will blow you away! Love you, Balsara!
@WinGate Mose No truer words. Freddie is a legend, to lesser degree. But more over he's a music God! Singer, songwriter, entertainer. Covered many genres and styles of music. A voice that will not soon be replaced. I heard Killer Queen when I was 9, back in '73, and I knew he had "it" w/out knowing what "it" actually was. But I saw it. Its just so sad that people did really get him, or Queen for that matter, until after his death. If only he could've seen what he has brought to the world in the last 30 years.

On the day Audrey Hepburn died I was at Paramount Studios for a taping of the television show "Cheers". We were running a bit late when I saw a bay window display case of Academy awards. For some reason I began walking towards it. My friends said we would be late and miss the taping. All I said was, "I have to see it first." On the right side of the display case at the bottom was Miss Hepburn's Oscar for "Roman Holiday". I had never been to the studio before and could not possibly have known it was there. I will remember that day forever.

@@Heidi_Bradshaw Thanks for the info. It was a take from the Go-Go's most popular song. It went like this: Why can't the Go-Go's have babies? Because their lips are sealed.
What beautiful settings to be laid to rest in. Richard Burton was a proud Welsh man I’m surprised he wasn’t buried in Wales. When David Niven filmed "Curse of the Pink Panther" in 1983 he was terminally ill and his voice had been reduced to a course whisper so the production team hired famous impersonator Rich Little to dub in all of Niven's dialog for the film! - A little bit of rather unknown Hollywood history!
I remember that too. Rich Little was one of many voice actors brought in to dub the voice of someone who died without completing all their dialogue in a film or television show!

Hands down, the most beautiful resting places you have visited!
agreed, make every other place seem drab
I'm living in Switzerland since 1997 and i knew only about Charlie Chaplin and Freddy .In Switzerland i have seen many beautiful Graveyards all around the country the one in Morcote is just wowwwww. Thank you very much for this great tour ...its time to make a tour.
David Niven in the Guns of Navaron, excellent and thank you for showing the final resting place of the famous Welsh man, Richard Burton, I listen to his voice often, when I play the War of the World s, with him as the narrator.
Thank you very much, I'm from Switzerland, but I didn't know where all these stars are buried, except for Charlie Chaplin..
It's impressive how you honor and remember these people. Thank you for that. It's also quite impressive how the graves are so well kept there with the hedges and flowers and stuff
Your piece on Audrey Hepburn is my favourite segment ever on Hollywood Graveyard. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you Arthur.
I never knew so many huge star's were buried in Switzerland. Audrey Hepburn was a huge actress and James Mason was one of my favorites from the golden era.
The breathtaking scenery made this installment all the more incredible. Again awesome job Arthur Dark
A lot of movie, singers and sports stars live there because they don't have to pay tax in Switzerland.
you re buried where you are resident..(or face HUGE costs when shipping your dead body over the world passing many countries, each with extra rules..)
We were privileged to visit Switzerland in 2016. Of all the European countries I have toured, I would really love to go back to Switzerland. Thank you for this beautiful video.
I'm happy to say I got to see Queen in concert in 1980 and Freddie just loved being up on that stage vamping it up for all the fans. He is truly missed.
Another gem! This series is so tastefully done! I look forward to all you create. Switzerland is really beutiful. The scenery is breathtaking!
As huge a star as Richard Burton was and to buried in the smallest of cemeteries . One of the most unique that you have visited!!!
How much ground does a human need??? (Tolstoy) 1 x 2 x 2 metres..and not more..
@@edgarkrattiger9185 Yes, OK, but in imagination a grave of a big Star and Millionaire must be impressive...big, expensive...like a monument. You know?
What makes me soo sad is seeing such great actors and actress's and people with old stone gravestones which shows no one has been there for such a long time, all forgotten. May they all R.I.P
But some of these Switzerland cemeteries are taken care of so well
They're in God's memory. They will be back one day
We are watching, they are remembered
Switzerland is definitely on my bucket list.
Bring a lot of money because it's super expensive.
Skiing or summertime?
Hopefully you will get there …enjoy!
Is duur, klopt.
Maar is het waard.
Je krijgt er geen spijt van.
Ik was er 3x , met de auto van Bern naar Grenoble France en Morzine.
Greetings from the Netherlands
I showed this video to two coworkers, and they commented on Switzerland's landscape as having a feel to Hyrule in "The Legend of Zelda" (I have to agree). The three of us were enchanted by the unique beauty of not just Switzerland's gorgeous landscape and history, but also the ethereally beautiful cemeteries.
This is one of your best offerings Arthur. I really enjoyed it. I had no idea so many famous people were buried in Switzerland. However, seeing how very beautiful it is there, I can understand why so many chose to spend eternity there!
This was the most breathtakingly beautiful videos ever. Thank you Arthur for taking us with you on your journey. I close my eyes and envision getting to see those quaint towns among stellar mountains. Just glorious. My favorite is Audrey Hepburn. I love that you showed us her home and that the town remembers her. ❤ Excited to see what's next.
That was really sensational. I really love your show. And the Charlie Chaplin section was wonderful.
Wow, this was definitely one of my favorites! Mercury, Burton, Niven, Hepburn and Chaplin were just beautiful! Thank you! I can't wait for the next one! You're fabulous Arthur! 💞
I absolutely love your channel!!! I had no idea so many famous actors/actresses were buried in Switzerland. Plus, I have never seen such organized and well-kept cemeteries in my life.
Thank you so much for this episode of Hollywood Graveyards. This one is by far my favourite one because I finally got to see the resting place of my favourite actress Audrey Hepburn in beautiful Switzerland. Thank you again Arthur :-)
One fact about James Mason I didn't know is that he is father in law of singer Belinda Carlisle.
Yes! Morgan Mason is James and Pamela’s only son!
@@givenscommunications6307 I doubt they had children because her lips are sealed! 😉
@@mistersquirrel0 🙄
@@Heidi_Bradshaw Thanks for the info. It was a take from the Go-Go's most popular song. It went like this:
Why can't the Go-Go's have babies?
Because their lips are sealed.
@@mistersquirrel0 he's here all week, folks! Try the cheesecake!🤣🤣
What beautiful settings to be laid to rest in. Richard Burton was a proud Welsh man I’m surprised he wasn’t buried in Wales. And David Nevin and James Mason and Charlie Chaplin all great English men but not buried in their home country it’s not hard to see why they were laid to rest in their adopted country all the cemetery’s are kept beautifully RIP to all those departed stars and the pleasure they gave with their talent.
Hey heyyy!!! Happy dance happy dance!! Such a beautiful scenery, just breathtaking. Love it 😍😄😍😄
Wow what an amazing looking cemetery and Switzerland looks beautiful ❤
When David Niven filmed "Curse of the Pink Panther" in 1983 he was terminally ill and his voice had been reduced to a course whisper so the production team hired famous impersonator Rich Little to dub in all of Niven's dialog for the film!
- A little bit of rather unknown Hollywood history!
I didn't know it was Rich Little's voice in the movie, I loved David Niven in the Pink Panther movie, I have all of the Pink Panther Series
I remember that too. Rich Little was one of many voice actors brought in to dub the voice of someone who died without completing all their dialogue in a film or television show!
Actually the dubbing was done by Douglas Fairbanks Jr.
@@robthetindog8218 I beg to differ. I know Rich Little personally and he told me the whole story about how David Niven said to him "Rich you owe me half of the money they paid you to go in and dub for me!!!"
@@theincredibleimpression tv special I watched about that time claimed otherwise. They interviewed Fairbanks jr. I’ve seen the movie, & if little did it, why does it sound more like Fairbanks & less like Niven? I know what Niven sounded like because my mom was a fan of his.
Wanted to watch this again because of the scenery! So gorgeous!
Switzerland is gorgeous, it makes me wonder why I live in the states.
Yes it is beautiful but it's super expensive.
@@roter13 yes it is super expensive, but only for tourists.. swiss people also get quit a high salary, so it evens it self out.
The bigger problem to come and life here is to get a workvisa. Because you need specific tips of job's to get one... ( Like it is in pretty much every country)
But I would say it is absolutely worth a visit ;)
@@elenapighi4073 I don’t care I’m still moving there. USA is dead in my opinion.
Switzerland, Austria and Czech Republic are some of the most beautiful countries in Europe to live ♥
@@Luvie1980 wow, it has beautiful spots though?
Thankyou so much for this wonderful video. I've always wanted to see where Charlie Chaplin is laid to rest, it's on my bucket list. He was best friends with my great great uncle growing up in London. RIP Charlie xx
And the standard is raised a little higher. Never disappointing, always enlightening. Thanks again, Arthur!
Another well done episode, Arthur. Thank you for giving time to Freddie in Montreaux. Taking us to Richard Burton, Audrey Hepburn, James Mason, Chaplin, and Niven was classic. Thank you!
James Mason was in Journey to the Center of the Earth 🌎 with Dina Merrill my favorite movie 🎥
This was fantastic Arthur . Thoroughly enjoyed it . I thought the graves were very humble . I love the woods where Richard Burton was buried and where Audrey Hepburn was buried too . Simple yet so tranquil and beautiful . What a gorgeous place Switzerland must be . Thank you so much for this Arthur . ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent! cemeteries in europe are the best! missed seeing the grave of the great argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges in Switzerland.
One of James Mason's most memorable roles was ironically as "Mr. Jordan" in the classic "Heaven Can Wait"...
Actually, he was fantastic In Shakespeare's..Julius Cesar
I love switzerland. even their cemetery didnt scary, its lovely, you will remmember your lobe because of their nature
Wow, I didn’t realise so many Brits are buried in Switzerland. I love David Niven he was such a gentleman. Brilliant video, thank you so much 😊
What beautiful cemeteries. They would be my ideal resting place .
Wow Switzerland is so beautiful!
The scenery in Switzerland is absolutely stunning. Everywhere looked so clean, natural & beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.

Arthur, I’ve watched all of your videos numerous times, shared them with family and friends. This one brought me to tears. Thank you for sharing these with us. RIP Freddie ❤️
Absolutely breath taking, thank you Arthur and Giuseppe
Absolutely beautiful, the scenery, the people laid to rest... I was enchanted by it all. Well done. Audrey Hepburn is my favorite all-time favorite actress. Such an astounding place to rest for an astounding human being.
Such a beautiful place and you’ve done a very good job being respectful of these amazing actors and actresses. Thank you for taking us along on your trip. Audrey Hepburn is and always will be my favorite actress. I will probably never see her grave in person but this was an amazing way to see it. 💕
Fascinating...and Switzerland is uniquely beautiful and very very European.
The perfect place to retire. Chaplin. Burton. Dear dear Audrey Hepburn, - my all time favorite lady, fairlady.💛💎💛
You have a poetic way with words, great episode. Switzerland looks incredible.
Wonderful episode, so many great stars! I loved all of them and didn't know James Mason was buried in Switzerland. It's a pity this beautiful country is too expensive to visit for most of us Italians! Ciao to Giuseppe, too! Come to Rome!
I was born in Torino, Italy so a part of me will forever belong to the land of my birth, but I will say Switzerland truly is one of the most beautiful countries on earth.
So they say…
Yes it is. I love to travel the world but always love to come back. 🇨🇭
Thank you for taking us here! Forever effected by Mr. Chaplin. This is the most sweepingly beautiful visit yet! Gratsi maestro.
Bravo, one of your best. Brought back memories for me. I took a month to bike (motorcycle) around Switzerland the Summer of 84. It is a wonderous country.
