Great job Ian, it thrills me to see you teaching Bianca how to treat our wildlife. I've never made bluefish dip because I never had access to it. I have used smoked mullet that I'm thinking would be almost as good.
Looks Awesome!! Wanna try something that will amaze ya? Add Red Grapes sliced into 4s after your done blending. It sounds weird but I promise you won't make it again without them after you try it.
Smoked Bluefish is Amazing. Super good stuff. Back in the 80s the Chesapeake was loaded with them. My father took some out to Wisconsin and my Uncle smoked them in an old refrigerator my Grandfather made. Good memories.
@@matscaife9014 Always, but you don't even have to cut it out. Just cut the filets off and you can grab the blood line and pull it out all the way down. Damn good for fish fries when you hit a massive school and really load up on meat and you wanna eat them quick, they don't store the best . But they are excellent if you fry them up fresh .
Blues do make awesome dip! They get a bad rap as a fishy or strong fish which is true if you don’t treat them rite. Bleed them soon as you catch them and they taste a lot better. Fillet and skin them and eat them in the same day they are a fair fish. The longer they sit the stronger they taste!
I really like your video and the fish dip looked yum. I have never made any so it will be on my list of things to do. The redfish was lucky, that you happened along to help him/her out.
I've gotta try this recipe thanks , I used to work on a tug. It ended my marriage 20 days on 10off. I enjoyed the work and got up to engineer, but I couldn't go any higher bc I'm colorblind.
Awesome we love your video. I can’t wait for us to catch some blues and try your recipe. I did catch one blue last week and smoked it up but I think I got it to dry and didn’t add in the right ingredients.
Don’t get the Bimini , gets the Bimini lol sorry just love how u handle it like it’s nothing , unless u had to shot down cam to scream lol love ur videos
Actually I really enjoy Video's just the way they are...and If you want to fill up 1 of those containers and send some of that Fish Dip to Northern Indiana, I would gladly give you my Address...Hahaha, Looks Delicious.
Ian I'm from jersey. That's what we call Snapper Blues. I would a Hopkins lure with a steel leader. I've caught them 18 to 20 lbs. I cook them in a steamer with citrus slices.
TUG! I need your smoked fish dip recipe. I don't have access to fish but i just made a quick version with sardines and its pretty good. I wanted to try your recipe though, not sure what i will do for fish though.
Great job Ian and family. We love your videos. We have been watching since Bluegabe had you on his videos. Blessings from the Bodner family in Jacksonville Fl.
I think you have the same Refrigerator that I do.....Have you ever had an issue with your Ice Maker...cuz mine quit working for some reason after about 9 months..
Bluefish are so fun to catch, they are like the piranhas of the sea with those teeth. Growing up in NY, when the season opened our limits were 10 per person per day no size limit. My biggest one was a 27 pound Gorilla Blue I caught drifting mackerel strips on a charter out of Captree Long Island. The Cocktail blues you and your daughter were catching are the perfect eating size even fillet and fried. Good Times & also their carcasses are perfect for crabbing.
New subscriber here! Thanks for making some cool videos! They are great. I love how involved your family is. You seem to have a lot of fun together. Very fortunate!
Thanks for sharing, question do you remove the blood line on the blues? I caught blues and brought them home and fixed them and honestly it was nasty, then I was told to remove the blood line . Same with stripers.
We do salmon dip and lake trout dip and crab dip up here in Alaska the waters are to cold for red fish or blue fish. Instead of mayo and jalapeno we use home made horseradish (fermented for 1 year)! The clients at our lodge can't get enough of it! Saw ya on Blue Gabe so subscribed the other day...
rad vid! can i take the skin off? i heard its best to leave it on but with bluefish, PCBs and other shit gets into the skin and the dark bloodline but thats the internet haha. might do this on my pitboss austin xl the lowest temp is like 180 to 210 with the swing temp but i think it will be okay. great vids as always man! keep on fishing!
used to cut thousands of pounds of those things a day, gill netting And my dad ate them every day. Nothing worse than smelling fried bluefish when you woke up first thing in the morning for breakfast, but I heard the dip is pretty good.
I like your videos tug man keep them up I seen the first one with you and blue Gabe grilling some oysters out in the beds so I'm going down the line watching all of them I really enjoy them I'm originally from the little New Orleans area up in Arkansas right now miss all that fishing and seafood keep up the good work
Old joke about how Worcestershire sauce got it's name Old Cajun sitting in a restaurant and they brought some new sauce out for him to try , and after doing so says " What's dis here sauce " , So that's how I say it . 😁

Worth it!
Great job with your channel. Does fish dip freeze well? I thought it would be a cool gift if you can freeze it.
I don’t think so because of the sour cream but I do freeze the smoked fish and make dip from that.
Yummy, I love fish dip.
Looks great! How long does the dip keep in the refrigerator? I guess it doesn't freeze well like the fish do in a vacuum seal bag
I’ll eat it for about a week in the fridge
You're the best guy on TH-cam filleting fish
Great video. That fish dip looks delicious. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you sir!
