Mind blowing...even though I have OP-Z with components, this device takes non linear sequencing to the next level

Very informative Steve... quick qn which might determine if I order one of the NDLR's... can the NDLR handle complex time sigs such as 5/4, 3/8, 5/8, 7/8.11/8, 7/16 etc.

The NDLR isn't a traditional sequencer, so time signatures are not really a thing. However, there is a concept of a first beat and down/up beat for the purpose of quantizing and triggering. For instance, the drone can trigger on down "first beat", down beat or up beats. So the visual indication of beat is on a 4/4 signature, but the motifs can be any length between 1 and 16 steps, and the rhythm can be the same or a different length, making whatever ratio that suits you. I like what Funk Tree says below, "non-linear sequencing".

    It's like Tempest!

Yep, after implementing it and playing with it we realized the similarity. :-)

What happens if you route the midi from the ndlr back into itself?

I’m hoping you guys figure out all the cool loop backs and other things I never thought of... 😀One interesting loop back could be form one of the 4 Parts output on a given MIDI channel and feed back into the input with the keyboard control MIDI channel set to the same.

As of March 2022, we do not have a date for when we can make more The NDLR. Unfortunately, do to the world wide chip shortage, we are not able to purchase the microcontroller used in The NDLR. We hope to get parts to make more before the end of 2022.

How many voices can this thing drive at a time? It’s like Krause Schultz or Steve Roach in a little box!

How many simultaneous notes... there are 4 parts: pad (1-20) but typically (3-5), drone (1-3), motif1 (1), motif2 (1), so easily 10 notes on up to 7 different MIDI channels. That’s not including the polyphonic pass through transposer for an attached keyboard controller.

Don't forget interleaved polychaining, so you can play the PAD across four different synthesizers.
