It'd be hilarious if there was a game that had the same intro as this, but instead of the villain kidnapping the woman for the heroes to rescue, he just stole her grocery bag and it was filled with pizza rolls or something. And that was the only motivation for the characters to go fight him and his minions.
When I was a kiddo and had too much time and too many MAME roms I found this gem. Humanity definitely needs more great beat'em up soundtracks with vocals. Also we need a sequel but knowing Konami nowadays that would end as pachinko machine.

If memory serves, Violent Storm is the third entry in a series. The first was Crime Fighters, and the second was Vendetta. You should really check those out, especially Vendetta. For "wacky" value, check out: Metamorphic Force Undercover Cops (if you play Undercover Cops, it's IMPERATIVE that you play the Japanese version; it plays like a dream, while the "world" release actively removes content and plays far worse!) Battle Circuit (coming out on that Capcom Beat-em-up Collection, along with Armored Warriors, which you should also check out) Combatribes Hook Denjin Makai II Knuckle Bash (oh, this one...) Mutant Fighter Arabian Fight Ninja Kids Also, take a look at Gaiapolis and Gaia Crusaders; both are really obscure, but interesting.
Probably the best Konami beat 'em up gameplay-wise, TMNT IV is still my personal favorite from them tho. Battle Circuit, Osman, Guwange and Sexy Parodius are some obscure arcade games, but Sexy Parodius is probably the most wacky out of those lol.

Play GROWL .. it’s a beat em up about stoping poachers 😅 it was super fun and my best friend and I played it in the arcade together all the time as kids!

I happened to pause at 7:47 and noticed the "Enjoy Ora-Ora" billboard. We now need a Jojo/Coke novelty t-shirt with that slogan.
