I love WWII and Great War COBI brick models. That is why I wanted to compare and review my Great War tanks. COBI is made in Poland with quality bricks that are compatible with Lego. I also love railways and model trains. This is why I often use COBI with my large scale 45 and 32 mm dual gauge live steam locomotives on my elevated deck loop and on my Garden Railway Planter.
The trains glimpsed in this video was led by my live steam Mamod Mk. 3. In the first clip you see my new Swift Sixteen kits I’ve decorated for the British War Department.
I’m quite pleased with my COBI Great War tanks but really wish they’d make a British Medium Mark A Whippet tank, and not just because I own a Whippet dog. Lol
The COBI tanks in this video are:
    2982 Sturmpanzerwagen A7V.
    2989 Sturmpanzerwagen A7V (with interior).
    2984 Mark V.
    2972 Mark I.
    2991 Renault FT.
    2973 Renault FT-17

My friend Steve’s awesome fictionalized build of a Mark “BB” Whippet tank made from brass, copper and lentils (for rivets!): • Whippet Tank Project, ...
Happy bricking, military history and model railroading!

Great history and review of the models. Although I scratch built my brass/copper tank based on your previous review I'm still tempted to get the larger get the larger Cobi British Mk1 tank from a local supplier. Best of all, love the way your dog audio bombed your concluding remarks.😀

And her appearance made a nice segway into plugging for the Whippet tank. Lol. I forgot to tell you I plug your brass Whippet in the description.

Thanks Simon. I was a Lego kid. Lego doesn’t make real world warfare stuff. Cobi does. That’s a win for me and my love of bricks and military history. 😊

Thanks Craig. I think knowing a bit of history puts the models in perspective.

Well the Renault Char d'Assaut 18hp never had a hatch like seen on the older COBI Renault. There was a two door style hatch in the rear of the turret. The newer 1:35 scale COBI Renault has no hatch in the roof since there should not be one there. Overall it is FAR MORE historically accurate than the earlier one just by the looks. Sadly you got the French versio which is not historically accurate for the First World War since it is based on a Renault used during the Second World War. National roundels ass seen on this kit were not used during the First World War on tanks, only aircraft. The Polish version of the kit, which COBI fails to mention is however historically accurate for the French during the First World War as the Polish tanks came from the French 505ieme Regiment d'Artillerie Speciale that participated in both the St.Mihiel offensive and the Meuse-Argonne offensive on the Western Front in 1918. The vehicles of this regiment were then given to the new Polish army after the armistice were hey served with French crews until Polish crews could be trained in sufficient numbers. So if you want an historically accurate COBI Renaul you need to get the Polish version and not the French one.

Yours was one of the most enjoyable messages I have ever received on my channel. Great info. I love this sort of discussion. I do have two of the polish versions too. But as I have just moved across the continent I have not put them together yet.
