I love your videos! This one was exactly what I was looking for: A good approach to improving my early game: based on general rules and the "feel" of the board, but with your students asking the questions that I actually have. Please continue what you're doing here, it's very valuable for some people :)

Great lecture, horrible cam! Thanks. Got most of them right at my 10kyu, but not all. Your explanations really explain something, in ways a western mind like mine can understand. And you're not taking it too seriously.

Big thanks for all of your videos! I've been reading "The Direction of Play" and it has transformed the opening from something to get through into my favorite part of the game. I got most of these correct, whereas a month ago I doubt I could have gotten any of them!

Really great video, thank you! I completely forgot about my seasickness because I was so caught up in listening to your students discussing!
It's amazing how easy it is to get some of these moves wrong even if you do understand the reasons in theory. Takes far too long for me to consider some of the implications of a number of these moves, even though it's so obvious if you take the time to list them.
Hope to see more videos of this kind in the future!

Go is pretty much the same everywhere. China has slightly different counting rules from Korea, Japan, and the rest of the world - but, in the end it doesn't really matter!

Very nice video. Of course the "sea sickness" wasn't the greatest but the rest was great :) The only problem with the camera was, I believe, not the constant motion, but the fact that sometimes while you talked about the board and played stones, the camera didn't show the area being played at all... Which might frustrate a bit...
    However, great vid!

Can you release a "full length" version of the theme music? It sounds great, and I'd like a longer version to listen to while playing Go.

Great video! I love having a group of amateurs ask questions. Next time, make a student hold the camera.

I like the idea of using colored spots as potential answers... but you shouldn't use white as it's too easy to mistake as a stone. Also, the pink and tan? spots were really hard to make out. Darker shades of these colors would have worked better.

Try gokgs (dot) com for the most popular western server. Lots of people chat and review games there so it has a friendly atmosphere. Other popular servers are IGS(japanese), Wbaduk and Tygem(korean). The asian servers all have english rooms, but since most players speak different languages, no one usually talks. They just play.
    All servers are free.

Theme music was good, but that atonal stuff during the first 5 minutes was quite painful.

Why do I always get the feel like the way Nick Sibicky talks is "arrogant" sounding? Patronizing maybe. Maybe I am the one with the problem. I don't know. It's like he is talking down to children when people surrounding him are adults. Sounds a little strange.

Please don't teach and act as cameraman at the same time. Get anybody else to hold the camera.
