Thank you for these in depth reviews. And thank you for the original theme back, I was starting to miss it. I started watching your videos in 2018 when I moved to the US to support my partner through health condition. You’ve been such an essential support to me all along and this song has a very special place in my heart.
“Well duh there’s an atari there you should, you know, read that” “I know I know!! 16 hours of sleep in four days!” That could be a short 😂 😂 but seriously, I do these mistakes all the time in my games
I love watching games, and I never play games. I’ve played less than 300 in the last 10 years of playing this game. I’ve noticed the pros only focus on groups, and only count points as a secondary means. That way they have control for as long as possible. I want to play more, but I only enjoy playing against someone I know and not new players every time. I enjoy personalities and understanding a players playing style and working with that. I used to play with a guy from another state all the time online, but life got busy.
A variety of opponents can teach a lot of lessons but it's harder to determine progress when the lessons keep changing. On the other side of things, a small circle of friends usually means worse matchmaking (less likely to be of similar skill) and the best way to improve matches is by playing in a larger collection of players.

Nick, you did a lot of great videos at the Seattle Go Centre. Worth re posting more of them. Flashback Friday sort of thing?

23:00 unless it was a deliberate sacrifice my first reaction to losing a stone is "Shouldn't I be better at counting by now?"
i'm a total newbie, how do you even count the left middle? Seems both players are in zugzwang there
