    No split screen mode on tablets is just a bummer..
    Android OEM's have included it for years and Google still hasn't jumped onto the bandwagon? Hell, even Apple is now offering split screen capabilities...

    • @jorts900
      @jorts900 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The split screen code found in the M previews is still in 6.0 and you can access the feature on any phone by changing a line in the build.prop. It will probably become and easily enabled feature on 6.1 or hopefully with the launch of the Pixel.

    • @MacDaddyDev
      @MacDaddyDev 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +jorts900 Well, that's more soothing to hear. I still wish it was available at launch without having to go into the files and change things.

      +D33M0N3Y Woah, i've seen you on almost every tech video i've seen. shit you must really have a hard on for technology XD

    • @SugarFreeTargets
      @SugarFreeTargets 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +D33M0N3Y I remember Paranoid Android included multiwindow/multi-tasking when Android Jelly Bean launched. Phones back then were able to handle it just fine and phones today should handle multi-tasking like a champ.
      I wonder why Google hasn't included it yet...

    • @MacDaddyDev
      @MacDaddyDev 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SugarFreeTargets There isn't any excuse, really.
      Like I said, OEM's have been including it for years now so if they can do it on a modified version of Android, Google should be able to easily do on stock Android.
      This is one reason I personally don't like stock Android unless it's on one of my secondary devices. These missing features should be standard by now.

    Let's just list things that's been present on Android skins for a while now which everyone wants and Google refuses to add:
    1. Split screen multitasking
    2. Horizontal mode for phones
    3. Dark Theme / theme engine
    4. Split keyboard for Tablets
    5. Resizable keyboard
    6. Decent camera app
    But we should all be impressed because they've added apps permissions and made the app drawer worse. Definately worthy of a jump from ver 5.1 to 6.0!!! Let's rejoice...

      ***** well I don't know how useful Now on Tap is and Doze... well KitKat was supposed to have better battery life, then Lollipop was supposed to have better battery life, now Marshmallow.. I've no confidence in Google.

    • @klyplays
      @klyplays 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think lolipop's battery saving mode and ART gives it a little bit more battery life and Marshmallow extends it in standby time

    Damn, Android is getting so much better than it already was, I didn't think it was possible. I thought KitKat was good enough, buy Marshmallow is totally killing it. I need to upgrade soon, but I literally just upgraded from ICS to KitKat. I feel like an old man who sucks with technology.

    • @Gepstra

      +Robert Hernandez Aham, so there shouldn't be any excuses like "Our customers become confused and frustrated with 2 options of storages (external, internal) so for that reason we decided not to include expandable storage on our new phone". I swear, a smartphone company made this comment, I just can't remember which one.

      For some reason, TH-cam has been having problems with putting videos in the subscription feeds. I've been missing out on new videos from other content creators for this same reason.
      Either the subscription feed is messed up, or Google optimized it to only show the people you watch frequently.

    facePalm. Only Now on Tap, Doze mode and App permisions (witch is from 4.2) dont make this Android 6.0. This should be Android 5.2. An built-in File Explorer. Great. They put it into the Settings. WTF. Still no Multi Window support. Still only 16 Apps per directory. Still no built-in Sound Recorder. Still a shity Camera App witch don't help power users and more. Anyway. Let's see the good part. We have new wallpapers and new animations. WOW.

    The new Doze feature does indeed work very well. I just got a Nexus 6 yesterday. My previous devices were a Nexus 7 a few years ago a Galaxy Nexus. With those two devices, neither one would last overnight in standby. It was pretty bad. But I left my Nexus 6 off the charger last night and barely noticed any battery drain. So yeehaw that's nice.

    Thanks for this Tim👍 It's SO FRUSTRATING when carriers such as T-Mobile and AT&T holds out and delays the Marshmallow OTA update. I just downloaded it directly from the Nexus website and used the Nexus Root Toolkit v.2.0.5. on both my tablet & phone. I don't know why Google & Android can't fix fast and timely updates especially now when patches, security updates and bug fixes are more important than ever. I ain't waiting for months for the latest Android OS or update.

    Just done the Update for Nexus 5, and can tell you than Handscent SMS no longer loads at all (get crash message) and Antutu crashes at 76%.
    It is strange that I got an update last week to 5.12 that did some of the updates which are now in 6, like the vertical app draw, the uninstall apps and so on. One thing I did just notice is when connected to USB, you now have an option for Midi. Anyone have info or video on this?

    This video goes straight to the point with a lot of nuances of Marshmallow during a walkthrough without rambling off and wasting time. Very worth it. Everyone upgrading should watch this for a quick rundown of new features!
