    Definitely do a 49/17 gear up kit! This opens up your range that you cvt works with. Add red contra spring and red clutch springs with the stickiest clutch you can find and the lightest clutch bell you can find. 5 gram Dr pulley sliders. 89mm variator. 24mm carb and intake manifold from 150cc. Stock pilot jet from stock carb. 125 main jet. 52mm bbk. 52mm head with oversized valves. CR7HIX spark plug. Orange coil. Blue Cdi. I see you already have the exhaust and air filter. This setup has me going 59mph so far. Beats my 150 off the line. My 150 quantum only has a higher top speed. My 150 can’t catch this build otherwise.

    • @robertclucas7119
      @robertclucas7119 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @BackWheelBenji I weigh 190 lbs/ 86kg and the scooter comfortably gets up to 55 without tucking. My son and I tried 7 gram Dr pulley sliders with this same setup. We lost 8 mph top speed for not being in the engines power band. We tried the 7’s as we were both concerned about the rpm’s being too high. With not having a tachometer, wanted to preserve the motor. We since put the 5 gram sliders back in and are running the scooter a bit richer to keep temps down.

    • @robertclucas7119
      @robertclucas7119 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @BackWheelBenji we bought a Kevlar belt which is a lot more slip resistant. Great for acceleration, top speed, and longevity. Bad for keeping the same size weights. A good problem to have. We bought 3 gram sliders that respond the same way with the Kevlar belt as the 5 gram sliders responded with the crap stock Chinese belt. Installed a 28mm Nibbi carb and a 130 main jet. Still keeping the stock pilot jet. This thing screams hard loud and fast! Still need to test top speed with only myself on the scooter. Made it to 48 with myself and my daughter on the scooter while she operated it. Total weight 310 pounds. I’m pretty sure I had it going faster. I can’t wait to see how fast I can get it to alone!

    • @richardworden9747
      @richardworden9747 ปีที่แล้ว

      @BackWheelBenji 49/17 are a taller gear and better for top speed. If you take 49 divided by 17 you get 2.88. as for 51/17 you get 3 .

    I’ve done a bbk along with every performance upgrade I could find online. Carb with upgraded jets. CDI, Cam, exhaust and air filter, Etc. I was able to get my scooter with 13” rims to go over 60mph. Did the same thing on a scooter with 10” rims and it tops out at around 45-50mph.

  • @dekoldrick
    @dekoldrick 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The one thing I hear about the big bore kits is that they shorten the life of your engine but never find any photos or videos of such failures caused by them. I'd say the life of the stock 49cc engine will be shorted just as much if not more considering how hard you have to run it just to get to 30 MPH if it'll even do that while stock.

      @@throttle_therapy Good to know. Thinking about installing one into one of the two scooters I got for free about two weeks ago. Got one of them road worthy again but the other needs a little more work. The previous owners did a number to the body panels and wires but I manage to get it to fire up and idle a little bit yesterday. Might put a big bore kit on that one while I try to restore it or sell it to a guy who's been begging for me to sell it to him as is.

    Honestly, the gas mileage was something that I was wondering about, cause i'm considering a bbk. but like, if nothing else it seems like your scooter may be running better than it was (speed wise not included)?
    As far as dumping money into it, like...my scooter has almost 6k miles on it already. I figure at worst if i blow the engine in it, i can shell out $350 and just get a new engine that's already a 150cc, and have a friend weld new mounts on. frame and plastics are still really good on it, why not keep it going?

      No it’s not it all depends on what you get now you’re talking about a Chinese quality parts yeah they’re cheap and low quality now if you’re talking about Taiwanese or Japanese that’s different good Taiwanese makes parts for Japanese bikes in Mike’s bikes for Japanese people Bikes I had an 80 Chinese kite just bought it so I can get the muffler now anyways those Chinese kids are cheap the only thing that is quality is the muffler and that’s about it when you’re talking about Taiwanese stuff like the engine you’re speeding $200 nearly 300 I spent 240 on my Taiwanese engine that should tell you something that is high-quality you get what you pay for what you’re talking about a Chinese kid you’re spinning about a hunter just for not just the engine but the muffler in pretty much 60 or 80% of the full replacement of that engine that should tell you that nearly every part that you’re getting a little quality

    • @daviddicks35
      @daviddicks35 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ensure enough ain’t going to last long I had to swap out all that shiny stuff because I have a Taiwanese engine and probably the reason why my bike was misfiring and not starting is because of it so I swapped everything to Taiwanese in I bought me a premium American spark plug in on top of that I’m replacing these old stater to a current one that they make a noww Every five years of 10 years they improve the quality of Chinese parts so that you improve the longevity of my bike

    • @daviddicks35
      @daviddicks35 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should follow me on my channel I basically swapped out all that cheap Chinese parts out of my bike and put nothing but better quality Chinese parts in it in Taiwanese but when it came to the engine I put nothing but higher quality because it’s an engine the only thing that I kept in my engine that Chinese is the bushings because that’s not directly in the engine or making the engine go it’s just bushings to protect the engine Mount from the bike hitting it and they say the Chinese bushings are better than Taiwanese anyways With the quality
