Suggestion for those of us who need access to odd and ends throught the day. I use a picnic basket for my vitamins, medications, hand lotion, wrist wrap, glasses... etc etc. I can take it with me in any room I need it in. Saves me time running back and forth to other storage areas and it looks really nice. Maybe because of my age I have Rx, ibuprofen, and other items I need all day long. Added a clip in light for middle of the night scavenging :)
I also use a picnic basket. Two actually. One for all of the things you mentioned and one for all things homeschool related that I am working on. I keep a power strip/surge protector in the everything basket along with chargers.
@@Margot5twofor53Oh I love this idea - and I definitely need the medication one too. I've just come out of hospital and now have limited mobility. I'm about to massively declutter because of it too.... But on the plus side, I have started crafting again after over 20 years 🙂
Our apartment is tiny and inexpensive. But we decided to splurge on details: we hired a handyman to get outlets where we need them so in our home no cables are in sight. Our TVs are hanging but their outlets are right behind so they just “float” wirelessly. Same with our router, it is on the top of a cabinet, out of plain sight and has its own outlet too. And finally we asked him to put wall lamps (modern and flexible) on our bed wall so we could read in bed with no cables and no need for nightstands. It is so clean and convenient… really worth it.
I recommend recessed lighting too. It’ll save you from having to buy lamps, and have no cords. It’s easier to clean, and safer around kids and pets. Older homes and apartments tend not to have it. I wish my parents installed it, but they say they’re done paying for this house . (I’m in school btw)
@@ber1779 so true!! In this apartment all lights are LED. They are all recessed except for the bed lights for reading that I mentioned, which are small adjustable LED lamps. When we bought this apartment I was sick and tired of cleaning hanging lamps, chandeliers and whatnot from previous homes, and I wanted an abundance of light spots and no extra cleaning attached. I am super happy, and my electrical bill is super low.
Modern building code typically requires that outlets be every 6' or so so that people don't need to use so many extension cords. The result is that as time goes by, people shouldn't need to do that as much, as the outlets will just be where they should be. Also, I think we've likely hit peak electrical consumption as most devices have far better power management in the past, so there shouldn't be as many times where a short power strip isn't a reasonable answer.
I am so glad i found you i am 60yrs old and am so depressed about all the stuff and my cluttered i thought it was a illness of mine alone. God Bless You
Hang in there. You are sooooooo not alone. Keep your chin up and do what you can, when you can, and do Not beat yourself up because everything is not perfect. I leave you with these words that go deeper than how straight your house is, You are good enough. Hugs, sister.
❤️❤️I can definitely relate. I am so overwhelmed by my things, but I find it very hard to let go. Something I have been asking myself recently-if I were moving across the country, would I bring this item with me? Would I repurchase it once I’m there, or would I feel happy that I have an excuse to part with it? It’s really been helping me prioritize & truly see my belongings for what they are, not just what I was hoping they would be. Wishing you luck on your journey❤️
Good point. And that is a personal choice, I think some people feel the need to get down to the absolute minimum (one fork) while others (me) have a lot of things, and I use them. Not every day, week, month or even year. I have gotten rid of things that I had plans for but now don't, or use to use and now don't.
My problem is that I “use” many things, but not all the time. I have a lot of holiday stuff and hobby stuff that’s needed when appropriate. I have to store them in a way where it’s not a huge deal to get them when needed (I’m a senior citizen). The stuff that I use everyday, will go into a basket as recommended above
@@NicoleBrown147 That's the best term for what I am. I think I'll start using that. I'm the same as Kallie. I'm very cautious of keeping only what I use and I never have to really do any kind of spring cleaning, because I'm always on the lookout for what I can toss or give away. Also, I'm often thinking of how I can make my current surroundings more livable by finding ways to maximize space, or making frequently-used things more easily accessible/reachable, easy to store, less likely to get messed up quickly, etc.
It’s been proven that clutter creates a feeling of chaos in the brain. You become easily overwhelmed by it and can bring along depression. Vice versa, depression can bring about the lack of ability to clean up creating more chaos. I finally learned this the hard way after losing my big brother, aunt and mum within 18 months. None virus related. I am tackling one specific area a day for a set time and it’s truly helping. My family now puts things away immediately because they know how much I detest things on my counters. Go slow, keep up with what you’ve already accomplished and you’ll find yourself not avoiding things or overwhelmed. * I changed “tings” 🤦♀️😂
I totally get that! My house is under construction (while we’re living in it- 3 kids and 3 dogs) and since it’s my husband & his cousins that are working on it the process is so slooooowww and I have stuff everywhere! On every flat surface! I feel so overwhelmed getting ready for school& work is so chaotic & frustrating to say the least- it’s beginning to make me depressed too. I can’t even think straight. P.S. I’m sorry abt your family members passing away🙏🏽
@@neenalouise2633 Thank you for your kid words! You’re a Saint in my eyes. Remodels while living in the house are an absolute nightmare. Just keep reminding yourself it’s not forever and you’ll have so many years of what you wanted coming soon. Go away for a weekend, keep your sanity and good luck!
@@neenalouise2633 living through and in a remodel stresses me out just thinking about it lol. I don't know if this would work for you but I've been doing a big declutter but because of the size of our home it just always felt like I was moving things from one spot to another but not getting ahead. I rented a small storage unit on a short term basis and put all our out of season things in there (winter clothes, appliances, sports gear). It's made such a difference because now anything that's left in the house I should theoretically be using 😉 and so I can be more clear headed when making decisions. As the seasons change the plan is that a lot of the things I've put away won't come back in as I've broken the attachment to them by already removing them from the house 🤞.
@@neenalouise2633 I feel your pain. My 3 month kitchen extension is entering its 12th month. Not the builder's fault, but wettest winter/summer period in 20 years (I believe ever now) and I live next to a creek that is basically the extended creek bed. I moved out of my 600 sqm commercial building and got rid of as much as I could but I have to keep business records. When I moved in, tge bushfire season arrived so it was no use unpacking in case it all got torched. A few months later massive rain downpours took out my driveway and flooded my house ....for last time I vowed. My on-the-ground 10 sqm (kitchen/laundry) is getting raised, and expanded to 15 sqm, but not before the floor /framing etc got drenched many times from rain etc. Packing boxes everywhere. Finally shoved all into main bedroom to get lounge as a (relatively) clear space for Xmas visitor. Felt like heaven. Kitchen bench space almost nil, so I balance pots etc on the flat bit between the sinks. I try not to think about it or focus on it..or I will scream and prob not stop for a while. So I distract myself reading or gardening ...and that's a messy swamped area too! Keep mind's eye on when it will be completed. I was married to a builder who had a decrepit house (told me all the wonderful things he would do to renovate it, never did a thing so I lived with rotting floorboards etc). Nightmare, yet I grew up in a nice house..go figure. Anyway, hang in there. Stay serene and above it all. Focus elsewhere and just talk as if it is all coming to completion and the rewards (THEY can anticipate) when it is all done might speed them up. Don't reward them now, keep it for completion. Hope that helps.
I’ve been working at this for years 😅😬. My family is really good at undoing the places that I get sorted and I end up using most of my time redoing things I’ve already done and decluttering further, but with 6 people besides myself I’m vastly outnumbered. It’ll get there someday, but I have a feeling it’s when my sweet kids are grown 🥲.
I feel this. I have gone through weeks of cleaning snd organizing and purging the whole house and it feels so disheartening when my partner and my daughter just mess it all up-but it helps me when I do quick little tidies here and there, or at least focusing on My spots 😅
Oh Lord, I feel you there! My boyfriend just drops every single thing where it is & rarely picks up his stuff later. I have created a lot of visual organization to help him, though
@@katythriftyunder35homeowne57 I try that too! I created “areas” like “this is where all your school stuff can go-doesn’t have to be fancy, just dump it there” and same for my daughter 😂 soooometimes it helps
Love your tip about giving things a home even if you’ll be using them relatively soon. It seems like any time I start a craft project, life happens and I have to put it on hold for a while, but I never end up putting things away because “I’m going to get right back to it!”. Of course, it ends up languishing in limbo for days or even weeks. Now, everything goes into it’s own little drawer or bin at the end of the day, even if I’ll be using them the next day-none of my bits and bobs get lost, and I don’t have to look at them all the time.
Weeks? Good for you! Us crafters. I am maniacal for months, then not so much for a year🙈😂(sometimes longer). I always put them away, except for that last one lol. You know, the one that only needs an edge lol. Then I get the itch, and then there’s projects all OVER.🤷♀️. Rinse, repeat. (Oh, I’m a crocheter).
@@mangot589 SAME! I do crochet as well, and I’m too embarrassed to tell you how many WIPs I have in progress 😩 I get the itch to move on to other fibre crafts or paper crafts. I totally agree with measuring first before you buy bins!!!! Im always measuring something lol. Ill put the measurements in my notepad in my phone so when I go to the stores i know what sizes i need. And i also have a keychain measuring tape in my purse so i can measure the bins or whatever it is that im looking for to make sure the measurements are right😁
Thank you for sharing your wonderful wisdom. You are such a young mother with a Bright Mind. At my older age I still learning and getting Great ideas from you. Thank you again. For the open shelf system in your bathroom, you can get a curtin that laids flatulence over them. Use a Tension rod. If you don't want to spend the money on a curtin just a piece of fabric over the rod would work. Or putting velcro on the ceiling and the fabric going down. I have an open shelf system in a rental apartment and I have used a tension rod to hide. Yet, we started using it as a places to hold extra clothes for drying.
As a stay home mom, when ever I need inspiration for cleaning I always come to your chanel. Thank you so much, you really made a difference in my life and home.
Woah....I was just in my kitchen and was overwhelmed with all the clutter... I pick up my phone and your video was on my feed!!! Love it!! Thanks again for motivating me!!
This is the first organizational video that addresses the stuff that doesn't already have a home which is my major problem. My last house was always pretty tidy because I had a place for everything but when we moved into this one, I haven't been able to crack the storage code. I like your suggestions, however and will put them to use in my home for the clutter that remains after a major clean out. Thank you for actual useful information!!!
I love your videos! my kitchen table has turned into a mountain of stuff. I was getting the entire kitchen and pantry organized...life happened and now I have months of junk to go through. I'm seriously thinking about removing all flat level surfaces. I'm so horrible about getting rid of stuff. your ideas are inspiring me!
Definitely my kitchen used to be one of the messiest area in my house. I just made this video sharing how I quickly decluttered my kitchen. th-cam.com/video/xmhSgtPLlt4/w-d-xo.html xCC
This might be too time consuming, but any important papers you can take a picture, scan them as a pdf or keep the picture & save the pictures in your computer. Then rip & shred the paper clutter & get rid of it. I have the same problem with my kids school papers. Good luck 👍
I‘ve been watching a lot of your videos over the last few days and repeatedly decided to try and organize my home more. After watching this one, I‘ll get started right away - thanks!
Spot on about the packaging of items being removed when at home- that is the first thing I do once I take my groceries out of the bags. I do it at home to save space as well as time- why open a box of cereal just to open a bag, when the box can go into the recoiling minutes after it enters my home. I have only thought of the visual aspects of this at the store itself, there are some aisles so visually assaulting to me I have no idea what's even there- but ever aisle has this going on these days, it's exhausting. Thank you for bringing this up, no other videos I've seen over the years address the packaging's visual effect specifically, A+.
I love the clothespins in the cabinet for the receipts. I think that would help me a lot. Especially with cats who think every piece of paper is a toy. Great tip. Thank you.
I really enjoy watching and listening to you. I like the fact that you talk and explain things instead of showing us a video of you working at warp speed. You are charming and smart and I love your videos
The way you explain things _really_ helps my brain motivation. Can you a video about breaking a giant task (purging and organizing entire home) into smaller, less paralyzingly overwhelming tasks? I know it’s simple… but in practice.. it’s not and having it explained (even when I know something) helps. 🙃
I usually start with the least cluttered, cleanest room... often that will be a bedroom. In 15 minutes tidying and cleaning you actually feel like you've achieved something! When I tackle a cupboard I take everything out, clean and only put back what belongs there. Always have a box for donations next to me, and a garbage bag...
I’m a big believer in bins and containers as well, and one thing that works really well in my house is to buy them within a certain color range. I only buy neutrals like black, white, clear, and gray, and I have the flexibility to use them in different areas of my house, but can still get a cohesive look based on how I arrange them. And a huge yes on measuring before you buy, especially if you live in an older house where your cabinets don’t have adjustable shelves!
This! When I first started decluttering years ago, I bought a bunch of plastic bins at Dollar Tree....and all they had was blue, green, red, orange....omg every closet looked like a kid's closet. Also bins with lids. And I couldn't figure out why it still looked crazy & kept getting messed up. Over time I learned that neutral matching colors look SO much calmer. Now the only bins with lids are the clear ones on the medicine shelf....everywhere else is either white or gray open bins. I wish I'd known that when I started the process.
@@yingli3819 I decluttered SO MUCH in the last few months…and am more intentional with what I do buy now. It helps a lot to buy with a plan and a function in mind and stick to it, no question. 😉
@@MollyT119 I am just about to start this process after my MS has left me way less mobile finally (it took it 30 years tho!). Do you have any tips on where/ how to start?
@@JamieM470 I kept some of my DT bins that were the right size (the locker bins), but I couldn’t find any black ones in the store…so I sprayed them matte black with a can of paint I already had. We use them in our front closet to keep things like spare cords and wires, command strips and hooks, and spare charging cords for our devices. You’re right, the neutral colors are DEFINITELY a lot calmer, and it just looks more put together. We really only use containers with lids when we need to…like lidded baskets to hide feminine products and extra TP, and a decorative box to hide our essential oil bottles in.
I've recently started using open storage bins in my bathroom for my makeup. It makes things SO MUCH EASIER because I have everything separated: face, eyes, lips, tools. Also, I LOVE the Beach Babe line of hair care products! :D Thanks as always for the great tips, Kallie :)

@@texasstar4281 do you want to do that when your kid is having an emergency? No. Many times these todos have crucial instructions on what to do or not to do (like inducing vomit). As much as I like the idea of removing labels for tidier appearance some stuff needs to be considered. Maybe this dangerous item should not be out in the open? The label is not the issue maybe the issue is the product itself or how we store it.
@@ijaen I, not like many keep my cleaning supplies in a cabinet my children couldn't get into at a small age. Then I taught them these can be poisonous if you need to clean something please let mommy know and we will do it together. Plus my major is chemistry. You never leave chemicals where children can get them I do believe we were talking about Myers dish detergent not liquid plumber. Have a blessed day😊
My problem is that with my ADHD if it's put of sight it's out of mind so I'm likely to completely forget I have something if it's in a cupboard and I won't get it done. Bills are an example, if I don't leave them literally in my face they won't get paid so they have to sit out somewhere till they're paid.
How about open baskets on shelves ? You can see what's there but it will still look more "put together" and organized. Labels might also help identify the content of each basket 😊
Just a suggestion....I hang a calendar in my bedroom that is strictly for bills ONLY, right by the door so I see it every morning when I leave the room. I write the date for when each bill is due. Then I file it in an open slot of a desk organizer in my office. For charge card payments...I file it with the monthly statements along with an envelope only for their receipts. That is filed in a file type cabinet.
Check out Clutterbug! She has a channel on TH-cam and has ADHD herself - she's all about tips for different organizing styles (including us visual bugs!) and it totally changed my life
I have implemented your 3 life changing tiny habits and loving it! I too work from home and don’t get dressed until it’s time to pick my 3 and 1 yr old up from daycare. These 3 habits so far are so impactful and truly causing a domino effect with other aspects.. like laundry.. “I cleaned my sink last night so I might as well start the morning with throwing in laundry while coffee is brewing!” Keep these videos coming! ❤️ My husband raves about that book I guess I should read it!
Yes, ma'am! This video is right on time. I was just talking to my mom about an overhead fan cord out on our patio. The wall is off white and the cord is black. I was trying to decide if it looked rustic or was an eyesore. It's an eyesore! I never would have thought of cord covers! And I completely relate to things not having a home that leads to clutter. You have motivated and inspired me to do better. Thank you!
Minimal mom suggests a box/file/tray for “paper clutter” in a cabinet or cubby that you go through weekly as part of your routine. I have chronic issues with things being left on tables. Naturally messy person here who has been trying out and implementing systems for years. Your ideas here are all terrific!!
I like to use bins on the bathroom shelves for all the small bottles because it keeps me from knocking over 5 things when I reach for 1. Also on the shelves that are above my eye level I can just take the bin down and look inside instead of trying to look where I can’t see easily. Also easier than fetching the step stool which won’t fit in the bathroom.
I do love the everything in its place rule and am starting to benefit from it. For me boxes with a lid are a must because l have a severe dust problem. I just keep lists in the boxes so l easily know what is there. It is so much easier to dust the lids on the boxes than numerous different items.
I too believe visual decluttering can really help with a place feeling airy and somehow "cleaner", reducing the stress a place can put on us. Especially the constant "I should have taken care of that" gut nagging. Hiding cables as best as possible is also one of my go-to methods to make a room feel less cluttered, mostly by tying them into a bundle using velcro straps - in our old house, outlets are never where we want them and never enough of them! Mind you - DH is different, he loves all of the cables in his room to be out in the open, tangled or not. Fine, that's his room only. Moving dry goods from their store packaging to airtight containers also keeps critters out. And what's even better: Sometimes those critters come with said dry goods such as rice or lentils, there's no way you can detect the early stages in a bag of rice. In that case, the pest is contained in the jar (BIG YUCK), but easily disposed of. I found that there was a misinterpretation behind some of the responses - this is about VISUAL decluttering, not about getting rid of STUFF.
I agree. I know someone who is a very clean person and her home is immaculate, but it does not look clean with the 100's of knick knacks placed on tables, shelves, counters, and floors. The home itself is lovely, but it looks like a junk store with all the useless stuff in it.
Yes! I *always* decant dry food items into air tight containers, like Rubbermaid Brilliance or clip jars. A few years ago, a bag of rice introduced a rogue infestation of weevils. GROSS! I had to ditch all of our dry food, spices etc, and scrub everything in the kitchen. It was time consuming, gross and expensive. Decanting dry goods is a must. If I never see another weevil, it'll be too soon.
One thing I did recently that has made a big difference in the look of my living room, is tinted window film! I have glass on my entertainment unit and my husband has all his video games and old DVDs tucked in there. It looked like a total disaster so I just bought some window film to stick on.
okay. I decided I'd give fetch a try. I downloaded it and went to town gathering old receipts from around the house. I'm pretty sure I now have an applebees gift card to use for supper. And guys, you can use receipts from before the day that you download it. I was uploading everything from my purse and car (yes, the receipt clutter is real). I accidentally uploaded a receipt from 2020 and it shook its finger at me and was like "this receipt is old but you look like good people so we're going to give you points anyway. But try to use one under 15 months old please" 🤣🤣 I'm usually not good at keeping up with these shopping apps because you have to do some legwork but this one seems easy enough so I'm going to use it a while and see what happens. But oh boy is that first day fun when you scavenger hunt for every old receipt in your house.
THANK YOU for putting "visual clutter" into words. I get overwhelmed looking at certain spaces, and of course I just clean so it's not like that anymore. Sometimes I feel the same way at grocery stores though 😂 I think that's just something different.
I can't stand looking at labels/boxes once I buy something either! It's like, I already bought the product at the store I don't need to constantly be advertised to in my home! It makes pantries look amazing too
This is how I feel about labels on my clothing (personal preference, to each their own) as well as things like toothpaste & grooming products. I already gave them my money, and I am not a walking billboard! If I need to remember the exact specifications of what I bought, I’ll just check my Amazon order history.
These tips are super helpful. My husband is constantly leaving things out....even if it's a book that belongs on the bookshelf 5 feet away. At this point I've given up on getting him to do it, so having the tip about a home versus temp drawer is super helpful and will make my life easier. Thanks for a great video!!

I live in a studio and having less visual clutter is a must! The biggest thing like Kallie said, every item you own needs a separate space. 💜 Also, one in one out rule works great!
I was inspired to do a crafty project today after watching this video. I put my Cricut to work and we now have neatly labeled hand soap dispensers in each bathroom and at the kitchen sink.
I learned that the hard way - ALWAYS measure your space BEFORE going to the store, it saves a lot of money and you are sure to get the perfect fit. my favorite all time place to get storage bins, and drawer organizers is the "Container Store" they have everything for all my storage needs.
A suggestion for removing labels from things like cleaners: remove the front label and replace it with a simple homemade label, but leave the back label that has all the safety information. Make sure the side with the homemade label is the side you see when it's stored. It's a simple solution to ensure that you don't lose the important information and don't have any mix-ups, but still tone down the labels.

If the dining room & kitchen are clean but the living room is messy, but it’s all one open room, it makes it feel like the WHOLE space is a mess. I understand why some people like these floor plans, but I really dislike it for this reason.
Agreed, I've started using larger baskets to easily tidy my living room for just that reason. All the toys get a basket, all the books get a basket and all the blankets get a basket. If they don't fall into that category they get out where they belong because they don't belong out in my living room
I couldn't agree more! We bought a house from 1937 and the kitchen could only have been merged with the dining area by getting rid of the guest bathroom. A full bathroom with shower and tub! And I said: NO, I don't want an open kitchen anyway, I want to be able to cook and then sit down with my friends without the whole mess STARING at me all night. So that's what it is - a kitchen, a small corridor with the guest bathroom off to one side, the dining room. What happens in the kitchen STAYS in the kitchen. My hope, always.
I had Rubber Maid 13 and 20 gallons containers, I gave them numbers, and i write what is in the containers, #, location on index cards,I stacked 2 or 3 high, and covered with Mexican serapes, I used the top for extra books. Once I moved to Queretaro, 1-800 Got junk was so happy to remove controlled clutter, They did an excellent job, and I did not have junk. I donated all my kitchen and bathroom preps. I still have the index cards, so I know what I had removed.
Your principles are true. However, what is “Clutter” to one person is not necessarily clutter to someone else. As someone else commented, if something is out of sight then I forget I have it.
I’m that way in certain categories of my space...That’s part of why I love watching ClutterBug’s tips for the “Bee” method of organizing; which is for People who need their items to be visible and yet organized...OTOH - I love this channel 2 though because there’s one or two spaces that I need to have visual clarity in - such as my bathroom countertop and ideally, one side of my kitchen counter, lol :-)
Your comment about originally storing your bathroom things in bins with tops and then moving them to open baskets really connected with me. I guess the point being that it's okay to change a storage solution that you thought you had solved already if that solution isn't working for you. I realize that in a few instances I've just made do with a storage solution I went with even though it doesn't really work very well after all. Thanks for this video!
Thank you for sharing! I fail miserably at remembering to MEASURE things!…aka I buy lots of storage bins that aren’t the correct size or quantity that I need! You will be in the back of my head the next time I think of purchasing more 😀
Loved this video. You are the tip queen! Visual clutter definitely stresses me out too but then I’m not sure where to start and that stresses me out even more 😅
I so admire and love all these tips and will come back to them at some point I’m sure. But lately I’ve been so tired I decided to just adapt myself to living in the clutter. Adapting to a negative stimulus… isn’t there a psych term for that?? Habituation I think?? 😂 I’m sure it will come to a tipping point and then I’ll rage clean for a day and then try to keep up with all these points again!
Thank you for the very helpful tips! My problem is that often when I put stuff away, I forget I have it and sometimes buy more. So I leave things out so that I can see what I have. What do you suggest for this issue?
Definitely bathroom, and kitchen! I find that my kitchen usually hosts the most clutter. I just made this video sharing how I quickly decluttered my kitchen. th-cam.com/video/xmhSgtPLlt4/w-d-xo.html xCC
I’d have a pretty covered basket on my coffee table it has a couple of pencils , matches a couple of rubber bands and nail file a small scissors a little roll of scotch tape just little things that I might need that I take out and forget about I just started this and it really helpsI also throw my remote in there when I remember it and so my coffee table just has a lovely covered African basket.. it helps !
What is that clear envelope you put your cards and papers in? Looks like it stuck to the fridge? Paper organization in the kitchen/dining room is next on my to-do list!! Love your videos! I use so many of these tips!
Closet doors, curtains over bookcases, cheap baskets in rectangular shapes (fits on shelves), in same color. Color coded or labeled baskets for each person in the house for hats, gloves, and ear protectors. Verical shoes hangers, shelves for larger shoes.
I do this too. I also have a work box for my basic tools that I carry from room to room when I am crafting.
What a great idea. I will be incorporating this!
But on the plus side, I have started crafting again after over 20 years 🙂
That is genius!
Great idea!!!
@@SmallSpoonBrigade Still, my ancient house has outlets in the least useful places and there’s few of them
Decluttering and keeping surfaces clear helped me with anxiety
Same!!
Me too
I'd better get started then, as. I'm really battling with anxiety.....

I am so glad i found you i am 60yrs old and am so depressed about all the stuff and my cluttered i thought it was a illness of mine alone. God Bless You
Hugs and baby steps

Minamilism isn’t getting rid of your things, it is owning only what you use.
There's also essentialism.
For some people it does mean getting rid of, not all, but many, of their things because they just have too too much.
I agree!
I love the honesty of how your home looks behind the camera, that really motivates me thank you for your efforts! Healthy people make you healthy!
You’ve got to be kidding
@@nancysmith2874, what do you mean?
Same. So frustrating
Don’t be so sure! All my sweet kids are grown, but I’m still left with a husband! 😂
I just love how your videos are genuinely useful and you never push to sell unnecessary products that just add to clutter to us!
I have a jewelry business so I found these cute little kid craft trays from dollar tree. They stack and are easy for quick put away.
I have an entire corner dedicated to storing shoe boxes full of half finished projects! But at least now they’re tucked away and not getting lost/in my way!
@@shelbysittig1047 fantastic! Thank you for the recommendation!
Glad that I’m like you. I literally do all the things you mentioned in here. My head aches when I see clutter.
This is the only tidying up channel that I actually find useful. Simple and effective tips and straight to the point (most of the time 😂) thank you
I love the clothespins in the cabinet for the receipts.
I’d really appreciate this as well.
Me too
Agreed!! Need this video !!!
Just having less stuff is the ultimate key to stress less life! Try get rid off your stuff, less buying , more tossing!
I really love how this video is nonjudgmental and it helps people actually start from zero and work the way up to 100.
I've recently started using open storage bins in my bathroom for my makeup. It makes things SO MUCH EASIER because I have everything separated: face, eyes, lips, tools. Also, I LOVE the Beach Babe line of hair care products! :D
Thanks as always for the great tips, Kallie :)
🌿 I absolutely love your channel! Working on a more simple, minimal life. I’ve came so far from where I started.. but still have a ways to go. It’s insane though how much more “free” I feel.. it’s so refreshing not feeling like I clean 24/7 and still have a mess. Now, I clean wayyyyy less and have so much more time and am able to relax a lot more vs stressing about clutter.

Do not remove the labels from chemicals. They have important safety and poison information on them.
You can find that info online or save the label like her receipts. Have a beautiful day♥️
Also with food items I often need to know the expiration date.

It was myers hand soap lol…i think its ok

These 3 habits so far are so impactful and truly causing a domino effect with other aspects.. like laundry.. “I cleaned my sink last night so I might as well start the morning with throwing in laundry while coffee is brewing!” Keep these videos coming! ❤️

Thank you!
Please do a video on how to give everything a place where it belongs, I struggle with it sooo much. Thanks if you do.

Minimal mom suggests a box/file/tray for “paper clutter” in a cabinet or cubby that you go through weekly as part of your routine. I have chronic issues with things being left on tables. Naturally messy person here who has been trying out and implementing systems for years. Your ideas here are all terrific!!
Where are links for the cord cover product? Thanks for the idea!
I love the idea of bins and trays it makes a difference
🤪🤣🤣 everything in my house has a place it belongs!!! Usually in a tidy pile on the floor!! 🤣🤣 don’t judge!! Thanks for your great tips.
I have a saying If an item is stealing my joy ie taking up valuable real estate that I need for something else is goes. Great tips. TFS
Better question. What's the company using your information for.
I love fetch
I like the wire hiding. I never thought of that and I didn’t know there were things you could get to hide them. Thanks for all the tips.
Living simply with less & only what you NEED will reduce clutter and clear your mind. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
THANK YOU for putting "visual clutter" into words.
I get overwhelmed looking at certain spaces, and of course I just clean so it's not like that anymore. Sometimes I feel the same way at grocery stores though 😂 I think that's just something different.
I had no idea there was such a thing as chord covers and bundlers!!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
Your home looks beautiful so clean and tidy organized the way a home should look like. I live with my elderly mom trying to help her declutter but she insists on collecting stuff & I got injured in pain everyday & don't feel like doing anything. Any suggestions to get our home back to normal? Would social services help?
I love the wire covers, what a difference they make. Thanks for those tips!
I think you're my new favorite TH-camr. 😢🥺😭 I've shared two of your vids with someone who is a hoarder in denial. They might not listen, but you're saying everything that person needs to hear from someone other than me. *woosah* Thank you. 💜🙏🏾🧡
Thank you. This is exactly my concern today - there's too much stuff around me. You shared many ideas that will be effective for me.
It's a simple solution to ensure that you don't lose the important information and don't have any mix-ups, but still tone down the labels.
you do make messy rooms simple to keep it cleaned up. as one may say, (hope I'm saying it right) Everything has a place and everything in it's place. So easy to forget that term. Thank you for wonderful ideas to keep things cleaned up. as always you do come up with great and sensible ideas. Have a wonderful day.
I love my Mrs. Meyers labels! I hate wires, too! Thanks for this video!
You are so relatable! You are us but with solutions with same prbs we all have! I love you! Thanks! You are very genuine
I am a new subscriber. Even at 57 I am always looking for ways to simplify my life. I believe even more so. Thank you for your tips.
I have been coming to Mexico, mainly Acapulco since 1962. I do speak Spanish as a second language. I moved permanently to Queretaro, Mexico on 11-2-2021 at 79
. I moved because of the deadly crimes and the rents, utilities etc. taking almost all of my retirement income. It is safer, beautiful and cleaner here, and $850 per month less expensive.
There is not any shortage or limits on food, and I use home delivery, as I did in the USA
. I use Amazon-Mexico to order the foods, that i miss from the USA, and are not sold here. Grits, Louisiana hot sauce, Hormel Beef tamales, Libby's Corn Beef hash, Red chili flakes, and Campbell's chicken noodle soup.. Pork is all that I do not eat, and I cook 99% of my food.
Butterball has the best turkey bacon! The earthquakes were the deal breakers for Acapulco, but I will always love her.
Grilled Red Snapper and Pollo Feliz are my favorite foods, that I order for take out.
My apartment has a fantastic view of all of Queretaro, all utilities and WiFi, maid service, and 100% furnished with everything, and a beloved king size bed, like at home.
I am working on my temp retirement visa, since I did get 180 days, but at this age, I do not want to do visa runs, and never know how many days I will get. It is better, if you can to get the temp retirement visa.
God bless the world, and please behave. Hands are for helping and not hurting. Put a d before anger, and you get deadly danger. Do not argue! No one can ride your back, unless you bend over. Only the strong survives. Treat everyone, the way you want to be treated. Karma never loses an address, and we will reap what we have sown.
DO THE RIGHT THING ALWAYS!
Heating and rent too high. Move to another country! I did,

I don’t do clutter, nothing on my counter tops and everything has a place. My mother wasn’t a hoarder but she has LOTS a of stuff and I just don’t do stuff. I take care of my grandson during the week but when he goes home everything gets put away until the next day.
In my dreams, I would be like you......
And I have to start (immediately) decluttering and selling/donating etc lots of unused things - from clothing to furniture, because I have just come out of hospital and now have limited mobility.
I have no idea where/how to start....... 🤔🤔 Help!!
Start in rooms you are in often, like the kitchen and living room. You will enjoy the results and be motivated to go on. I really like the channel "The minimal mom".
Absolutely brilliant and easily attainable ideas!! Thank you and please continue to make your awesome videos! To me the diversity of each combined equals turning your house into your home.

Changing peoples lives 1 great tip at a time!! 🥰
Open concept homes also increase visual clutter a million percent.
I agree and now we know why people used to have the formal living room for company and the family room for family.
Yes! I have always felt this too!
@@minikraut "What happens in the kitchen STAYS in the kitchen." Excellent comment!
Love watching you share decluttering tips!!
Thank you for sharing! I fail miserably at remembering to MEASURE things!…aka I buy lots of storage bins that aren’t the correct size or quantity that I need! You will be in the back of my head the next time I think of purchasing more 😀
Excellent video! I have a very small house and definitely have issues with clutter. Thanks!
Great tip about the storage bins. Thank you.
And I thank you....for your truly thoughtful.....suggestions. They are very useful. Ahna
Great video! I always thought it was silly to remove stuff from packaging but now I will definitely try it. Thanks! :)
Great tips! Especially the wire cover! TFS
Loved this video. You are the tip queen! Visual clutter definitely stresses me out too but then I’m not sure where to start and that stresses me out even more 😅
WOW I had the same idea to stick pegs and make them responsible to hold my payslips in place. I love it.
I’m a new follower and I’ve been obsessed with your content!! So happy I found you ❤️
You will love Kallie, Stephanie. She is so intelligent and very interesting, She is so creative in all her videos. Arlene
Good tips Callie! Oh, and hey, FETCH rocks! Thanks for turning me on!
Thank you for the wonderful tips. Blessings to you 🙏💐🎉
I just signed up for Fetch rewards! Thank you! Had no idea 😊
Love love all of your ideas! I Have implemented some to my organization! Thanks
Thank you for all of your projects to help us to declutter! I will start to declutter my home!!
Thank you for the very helpful tips! My problem is that often when I put stuff away, I forget I have it and sometimes buy more. So I leave things out so that I can see what I have. What do you suggest for this issue?
Thank you for the info about fetch rewards and your code! Looking forward to watching my points adding up.
You right, you right lol I just spent probably less than 5 minutes cleaning up my bathroom counters and it looks 100% better than it did before 😅😅😅
Definitely bathroom, and kitchen! I find that my kitchen usually hosts the most clutter. I just made this video sharing how I quickly decluttered my kitchen. th-cam.com/video/xmhSgtPLlt4/w-d-xo.html xCC
I love the cord cover idea.
They sell the clear envelopes at the dollar tree in the school section. She probably glued magnets on the back.
“Parring” back!?!?
I think she means paring back.
Closet doors, curtains over bookcases, cheap baskets in rectangular shapes (fits on shelves), in same color. Color coded or labeled baskets for each person in the house for hats, gloves, and ear protectors.
Verical shoes hangers, shelves for larger shoes.
I will try some of the tips for organizing my bathroom, Thanks for sharing..
This one was the most helpful post yet. So concise.👍💜😉
Good suggestions & points taken. Appreciate you!
On “paring back” - paring rhymes with daring. Like I dare you. Like pare the apples. Like a paring knife.
Love the cord hiders!!
