I worked for a company where it was known that if you gave a two week notice, they fired you the next day. So I figured out when my last day would be (timed it to the pay period) and gave my notice on a Friday. I already had everything of mine out of my space and at home. I turned in my notice before the end of my shift, handed the boss a two week notice, and I was told not to show up for work on Monday. Started my new job on Monday morning. Got a call from the boss, asking me to come in, since other people were out sick. I said, so sorry, but I have another job. Your loss!
I subtly cleaned out my locker, went to HR for a exit interview in advance and asked them not to say anything ( they didn't). When I clocked in for my annual evaluation, I told the snake supervisor that he could do the eval, but this was my notice. I wrote "I disagree" on it, told him I'd already done my exit with HR, handed him my equipment and keys, gave him my badge and told him to walk with me to the timeclock and clock me out. He was shocked, tried to conceal his anger, and then tried to get me to work a 2 week notice. I pointed out the schedule with a 2 week gap, (a deliberate hostile work move) and left. After 24 years. I took a pay cut to work somewhere nice.
Loud quitting: quitting, but announcing it publicly, and posting on social media why you're quitting. Calling out the company and management. It's not just quitting.
I just tried to quiet quit…put in a three week notice and everything so it wouldn’t mess up the Christmas schedules….the Kimpton Hotel totally fired me the next day. Asked me to call “before the next scheduled shift” said thank you for the hard work….and then fired me. These companies don’t want hardworking people….they want robots with zero margins for error or people without disabilities. Someone else has already quit as of today, so i know it’s not just me😂
@@GOTL8_2.0 yes!! I had a coworker that had put in vacation that was approved. They let her go days before. She raised all sorts of hell and they paid her.. and this is in FLORIDA where the labor laws are the WORST.
quiet quitting and loud quitting is not the same. quiet quitting is just doing the job as it is in their job description, loud quitting is ACTUALLY quitting the job.
I think they get the job done too quickly then leave the table before they get into a fight. - loud quitting - quiet quitting Discussion- I do not know the difference between these concepts.
Times are changing and the old ways are going to be a thing of the past. I am almost at retirement age and I am sick and tired of the 'old ways'.. One example. A company can fire you. WALK you OUT with a box, no notice and no severance or benefits, and say that is perfectly fine... but does not want you to QUIT the same way. They want you to give 2 weeks notice, AND train your replacement, AND do whatever they want you to do in that time JUST so you MIGHT get a good job review when they are called for a reference. Done with that crap. And salaries should be posted and shared.
This 2 week notice thing is a lie...no where ever have you ever had to give a 2 week notice to quit. I dont know where you people got tjis idea but it is never even told to you in a job that you have to or they want that. Just quit
Naw you can quit whenever you want, 2 weeks is just if you don't want to burn the bridge but it's never a official rule. This loud quit is burning the bridge and taking a piss over the ashes.
@@unholybees you might say it's a lie, but ask any employer and they will tell you that if you quit without giving the two weeks notice they will give you a "not eligible for rehire".

@@Window4503 Oooohhh we've tried. Hard to do anything with Generation Gaslight (aka Boomers) always in the way, blocking any attempt we might try to put forth for change with constant invalidation, intimidation, and refusal of their own accountability, shifting the blame onto their children (Gen X & Millennials) and painting us as the villains, and then showing their grandchildren (Gen Z) NONE of that behavior, so that they don't see just how vile the whole damn generation was to us. Narcissists groom their audience and friends just as much as they do their targets. Abusive behavior is generational, and narcissistic parents always treat everyone else better than their kids, especially their grandkids. They need everyone else to believe they're not capable of acting like that, so that when their target does speak out they're not believed, and get told to just shut up because they've already been discredited and painted as a liar so nobody believes them no matter how much proof they might have, if any exists at all, since narcissistic abusers are so meticulous about covering their tracks so there's nothing left that can be shown. We're the 'disposable', 'in between' generations (Gen X & Millennials) who got the chance to connect with each other freely and had our eyes opened to the truth when the internet became mainstream and before the abusers in positions of power were able to adapt their tactics to put in place all these trackers, monitors, censors, and updated methods of digital propaganda and manipulation. We got to glimpse shadows of the truth behind the veil before the noose began to slowly tighten again so that Gen Z couldn't see enough to start figuring it out too. Toxins in our food, subtle hidden changes in our sickcare system, suppression of truth, mixing it up with lies to twist the narrative so no one knows what to believe anymore, and of course anyone who tries to say something is 'crazy' and 'paranoid' and has a mental 'disorder'. Constant bias and stress through information bombardment, and literal poison in our environment. Gen X and millennials' bodies are breaking down before they're supposed to be and we've gotten old and broken before our time. The fight against the system is an uphill battle that many of us can no longer handle and the best we can hope for is to try to educate the next generation to open their eyes before it's too late and they're already indoctrinated and brainwashed to believe the false narrative. Go study behavioral analysis, linguistics, etc and learn how to identify the patterns and spot the lies, and call them out. You'll know you're onto something when they try to silence and invalidate you. Learn all you can about the nature of propaganda, manipulation, and abusive ideology. As your knowledge increases, you'll begin to see it fir yourself. I know you won't believe it until you do, and you shouldn't just take my word for it anyway, but if you start to see it for yourself you'll understand what I mean. Extremist ideologies are puppet strings that can be pulled to control and distract people through their hatred. Rational thought and stable reality can be found in the grey areas of understanding, with clear and honest communication from a variety of perspectives. Don't let the bastards beat you down like they have done to us. There is still time but it will require forced effort to attain the knowledge and power to create real change.

@adammorra3813 Yes as a Millennial, I have to admit that in a way gen Z has more balls than us. I hate the way employers are equally prejudiced against both Millennials and gen Z equally, though, because I think they can’t tell us apart!

I’m tired of the corporate bullying. We are being asked (threatened) to do OT and managers and mid level management speaks to us in a condescending manner. Its no wonder a person would want to quit.
People are acting out in desperation because it effects their whole mental and physical health. That health doesn’t come back just like that. The level of bullying in work spaces too is insane for people who are long time employees who are upset by new people.
@ In CA unemployment is pitiful. My manager has told me “no one wants to be in that unemployment line.” Can’t imagine how anyone pays a mortgage after they’re out of work even a few weeks.
Just because you have a bad experience at one place, doesn’t mean you will have a bad experience at another place. Just as Gen Z likes to call out people for bias, statements such as yours demonstrate a bias with its generalization. Lastly, they tell you about overtime needs in the interview process - if a person has an expectation of not doing overtime when needed, and takes the job, they aren’t too bright - employees don’t get to dictate when they will and when they won’t do overtime.

I have encountered many lofty textbooks while in college, long time ago, all about the social contract etc. which has never really been delivered on, just window dressing. These young employees will soon find out that companies genuinely don’t care. You can’t make work your life. Do a job you can tolerate and fits your skills. That’s more of the nuance here! Just showing up and tolerating a job is not enough anymore! People want flexibility, better compensation, and autonomy. We can’t change the status by keeping our head down and trudging through the same old BS.
@@BoltRMBut now the reality is: #1: Work a job you hate that barely pays the bills #2: Sacrifice everything and go into debt for four years to maybe have a shot at a job you don't hate but pays okay #3: be homeless
Calling out assholes is necessary for change to be made. If a company screws you over, and makes it nearly impossible to get in contact with them, you tag them on social media and they'll magically reply back to you ASAP. Go loud and get attention. Also, attention = money.
Whats wrong with calling out garbage employers? The only reason loud quitting would ever be done is when the work environment is toxic and you're being taken advantage of as an employee tbph
Slaves in the past were in chains, the slaves of today have the illusion they are free. The invisible chain is debt. Once you go in debt, the system has you. Keep going in debt, the system counts on it.
Yes. First mortgages. Then credit cards. Then college. Actually all the stuff they make people believe they must have...a date for the prom, a fairy tale wedding, blah blah blah. Maybe people are finally waking up to the fact that it's all manufactured desire and doesn't mean a thing to our inner lives, our real happiness.
Companies and toxic management/co-workers need to be called out for transparency. If the situation warranted it, then an employer shouldn't be afraid to hire the individual.
It’s good to share with other employees who are the toxic and hypocritical companies and who are the relatively good ones, but the key is to make sure the employer/HR class isn’t listening.
The 9 to 5 usually isn’t soul-sucking because of the work, but because of the work environment. Useless meetings, passive aggressive emails, piled on duties with no further pay increase, fake smiles, getting yelled at over a mistake that’s easily fixable if the person would stop wasting your time lecturing, boring beige colors, “morale boosters” no one enjoys, pizza parties, out of touch higher ups who always underestimate what it takes to do a task… even if you’re just doing social media (the proverbial “easy job”), it suddenly gets draining BECAUSE every little thing gets turned into an apocalypse. I find it sadly funny that the people who tend to think “everyone is a snowflake and hates work” are the same ones who freak out over email signatures.
As a millennial, I get the whole “it will come back on you and ruin your reputation” thing. But also, these companies need to stop doing people so dirty. A lot of them should be embarrassed at the way they treat people. In the last five years alone I’ve had to take a pay cut while being forced to double my working hours then told “we need more from you” when I asked to take a day to fly to another state for my grandma’s funeral. At another place, I applied for an open position that I was essentially already doing. Not only did my boss fail to even acknowledge my interest, he hired someone from the company he just came over from and changed the entire job so that this person would now be my boss. AND THEN DIDN’T EVEN TELL ME. And don’t even get me started on current recruiting practices. I’ve been in the workforce for a little over 20 years and I’ve never seen anything so bad. These people have lost their damn minds.
Can i assume you are around 40? Do they still treat you like a child when you are 40? I am sick and tired of all the "you have to keep proveing yourself" nonsense. I am a calm person and i like to do my work. But with al the performance and jugemental stuff I get really anxious. Its not helping that I sometimes feel just doing the qork isn’t enough. I don't want millions 😂 I jist want to do my job get a decent paycheck and live my life.
Leave it to Gen Z to end Generational Curses. I'm sorry our parents and grand parents were okay with being corporate slaves, we are not. We grew up in broken homes with both parents enslaved to their job. We will have different for our children, we will do better. Leave it to the boomers and Gen X to be blinded by their ego. An ego feed to them by their slave drivers. Instead of sitting around complaining about corporate greed like y'all, we are actually doing something about it.
I am on the cusp between Gen X and Millennial. My thought is, corporate is getting worse,. The woke policies, they favor the employee that does the bare minimum, the favoritism, and the awful human resources. I am getting tired of corporate America myself.
IMHO these Gen Zs are heros, with the guts to say what they think snd be honest about holding integrity - despite the all might salve dollar. They have the guts the rest of us have wishes we could have for decades.
Yes. It's true that corporates will not want to hire those who loud quitted their jobs. However, they need to realise that if enough ppl loud quitted from their company, no good resources will want to work for them. It's a two-way thing. Corporates have the right to choose, so do the resources they are looking for. I know big companies with bad workplace reputation. And let me tell you. They are getting the consequences and suffering with incompetent resources cause no one wants to work for them.
They said the same thing about quiet quitting. Cast more light on the workplaces, other employees, employers, mission statements that don't line up, perks HR told you about when you were hired that pan out to not exist or if there are 'teachers pets' those perks are there for some and not others. Also don't believe the hype with these work places. I saw that automated self checkouts aren't panning out either. Oh really? So it would have been better to give Beth and Cody, Tyrese, Jose, Sandra, etc a raise and some damn benefits because they show up every day !!!? Duh.
Why work for a company that treats you like your disposable. Say it loud and proud say you quit.. why sacrifice more of your time and your life working for a company that doesn't cure for your well-being.. there's millions of people with that same degree and same skill to replace you
“I showed them the jobs that were hiring for that and then I showed them this is the impact I’ve had on the contract”, that’s more than reasonable, good for her! On that basis, she had a right to tell them how much she needs to be paid to be fairly compensated and I’ve always thought everyone’s pay and qualifications should be on a spreadsheet available to anyone at a company, so people can both figure out how to advance themselves and find out if someone with the same qualifications is getting paid more so they don’t undervalue themselves.
I think it needs to also be based on personality and how well one takes care of oneself and is able to get along with others. Qualifications are just the bare minimum.
What a job is worth to an employer and what people think they are worth are 2 distinctly separate things. When they match up, it’s a sign of a good working relationship with the employer. When they don’t match up, delusion is involved. And with Gen Z these days, generally speaking, they think they are entitled to more than the time it takes to get to where they want to be now. We don’t live in a Burger King world.
The problem is that many people I would say even most people at large corporations have jobs that are not really quantifiable as far as how much they’re actually bringing to the table. Which is why I would advise against having a job like that if you plan to work at a corporation. It’s a great job when things are great, but when they downturn, you’re the first one on the chopping block.
Even if you quiet quit your immediate supervisor would tell you "Why are you not selling more compared to what you did last month?" They will work you to the bone with no added compensation.
I burned myself for 3 years in a company that guilted me for taking any sick day off and berated me once. I cared for the company so I stayed that long in an unhealthy environment even if it was affecting my health because of guilt. Once I inevitably resigned, they communicated that they were sad to see me go but already had a replacement for me. I was shocked. The lesson I took away from this was not to burn myself for a company because to them, you are just another employee.
This comment made me realize. We spend more time at our job than with our loved ones. Why is looking for the right partner in life good but looking for the right job isn't?
Gen Xer here: I graduated college in 1991. The Recession was so bad that if took months and months to find a job. If you were lucky enough to find something, you would hold onto that job, no matter how crappy it was, for dear life. We'd be so glad to have anything that didn't mean sheepishly walking back to the job you had during summer break or high school. Nobody dared complain out loud. Good that things have changed.
I am 40 and always been like that. The problem is that I was the only one as my coworkers were too scared. So today I might not have a high paying job but I have traveled so much in my life. I am so proud of myself. Keep kissing asses i hope you won't regret it. Life is too short for me to do things I don't want to do
Life is not about doing what you WANT to do. It's about doing what you have to do to take care of yourself and your family. I did what I didn't want to do for years. Then retired early at 48 and now can do whatever I want. You quit to soon. Now I'm guessing you will work for someone else the rest of your life. Hope your trips were worth it.
Employers have too much leverage. Once people start going into debt (mortgages, car loans, credit cards) and having children then they have to toe the line or risk societal expulsion (homelessness, which is basically illegal). It wasn't such a bad arrangement when basic needs were affordable, shelter in particular.
that advice at the end is garbage: "be a sheep. Be a model employee so that you get a good referral." You may get a horrible referral if you loud quit, but the only reason to loud quit is to call out a toxic environment, and those should not be enabled by being thankful for abuse at work
Gen z gonna make us live fuller more satisfying lives and will be the heroes that bring back remote work and avoiding rubbish office culture. We're rooting for you!!
The young people are creating a new world -- it is their 🌎 world -- they don't care about corporate structures, or burning bridges. If companies want to be relevant -- they need to evolve. The industrial revolution has been over for a long time. An average work week should be 20 hours. We have the technology and resources for every human to thrive.
Note to companies: Burning bridges goes both ways. Just as you can blackball people you see loud quiting, we can examine the claims of the loud quitters and not apply to your company. If you ever wonder why all the candidates these days are unqualified, maybe consider the good ones got the message and applied elsewhere.
To ALL Gen Z - "Keep it up and stay strong" You are the future and YOU must stop this work madness that has gone on for decades. You are not "lazy" or "entitled", you know this is not healthy. WARN everyone of toxic environments so people will not apply. The media is lying and trying to discredit you. STAY STRONG, STAY LOUD - an old dude.
Wow, such an idiotic thing to say. Egomania destroys bridges, something Gen Z has not gained the wisdom of. You clearly don't have any since you're peddling nonsense. Employment is a means to an end and Gen Z IS lazy and entitled.
Well, I'm a Gen X'er and I don't remember things being like this. I mean, there was always the prick boss and toxic co-workers but you could simply go somewhere else by making a phone call and lining up an interview on your lunch break. Now, you have to only apply online and go through 5 roounds of interviews. It's all so impersonal now and it wasn't like that when I was in my 20's and even 30's.
Ya think so? The “idiot oligarchs”, as you put it, are smart enough to watch social media and keep a visual record of who not to hire, while actually hiring people that know how to comport themselves like an adult for the business they run. Funny thing is, Gen Z puts their face and a hashtags to it on social media for the world to see - who’s the idiot?
I’m a long-time educator, I understand employees quitting a toxic work place. That being said, Gen Z seems more concerned with likes on social media than making an honest living. Just look at the rise in the number of folks that identify as an influencer. There is usually a difference between what an employee thinks they are worth and what the employer is willing to pay. The problem is unrealistic expectations of both parties involved. You can’t start at the top without putting in the work and learning the ropes. Getting a degree from a college or University doesn’t mean you are qualified for a job; it proves you are trainable in the eyes of an employer.
Yep. Quit that job good and LOUD. Broadcast it on social media and let everyone know what a POS your employer was. Just don't forget that many future employers may be asking your previous employer about you and even browsing your social media accounts down the road. 3:50 #narcissism
⚠️ Slavery was never abolished, it’s just been relabeled - 9 to 5 job. Not until corporates start paying a fair share of Profits💰 in salary, nothing’s going to change.

Quiet quitting: doing the work you were hired for. Only that.
Loud quitting: quitting
Yep. Dumb corporate buzzwords abound.

There are no jobs where you "only do what you were hired for" - or if there are then they're almost definitely not worth having.

Rational thought and stable reality can be found in the grey areas of understanding, with clear and honest communication from a variety of perspectives.

Not until corporates start paying a fair share of Profits💰 in salary, nothing’s going to change.
Hats off for all the genZ'ers out there. You guys are 😎. This is truly inspiring 👏
My brother worked in logistics. He was a phone dispatch for a pretty large trucking company. After years of sitting all day in a cubicle he switched to the skilled trades. He’s now a carpenter. He loves it. The pay is good. Sure, it’s a very laborious job but he’s actually healthier because he’s not sedentary. These corporate, office jobs aren’t the only jobs out there.
The talking head at the end of this video, doesn't get it: Any employer that sees calling out bad behavior, as unemployable, is a bad employer to work for.
Gen Z is right
I agree with Gen Z on a lot of things. This generation is just what we need to fix the workplace.
k. They will continue to do this and companies will continue to outsource jobs to people willing to do the work. Americans might need to wake up to the increasing level of entitlement and notice that most of what they enjoy on a day to day basis was primarily brought to market by EXTREMELY hard working individuals from other countries who can't just complain their way to a cushy life. Sorry, but this is reality

Our system needs a complete replacement. People need meaningful work and authentic connections. Where are all the communes for all the “freedoms” we supposedly have?
@royscott5884 what a stupid comment. Since when is it entitlement to want a decent working wage, good health, & a decent quality of life? And how bitter of a person are you to be an advocate for homelessness, starving, sick people in order to consider them good workers? Get outta here with your noise...😤✋️
We are living in a time where corporate work roles will be reduced due to AI. Good luck demanding all the things on your checklist. In the future you will have ALOT of nonwork time to reflect on your existential angst.
@shanelittle1025 maybe humanity should lean in😉 Seems like you're not really doing so well with the whole humanity thing anyways, esp based on these comments🙄🤦♀️😂 Maybe the robots will actually challenge us to be better humans🤔🤖💖😉
Hmm...hiring older employees doesn't sound so bad now, does it?
Oh, you mean those "boomers" who actually work, instead of playing on their phones all day & complaining that they are being "exploited".
@2011Azure i know, right! Strange concept of wanting people to work for the money they are given. Also, boomers are retired. Gen X are the last working class.
If employers don't like being called out when their employees tell the world how shitty you are, think about how bad employees feel when you mass fire on Zoom calls.
Is no one going to question the likeliness this affects their ability to get re-hired when a future prospective employer see's these videos?
never mind this was addressed at 3:50 by someone with a brain.
This would mean that prospective employers have a lot of free time to peruse through millions of videos to find this specific one. The chances of that employer finding that one specific example of that potential employee, even if looking for it, is extremely low.
Companies look at applicants' social media first..
Not entirely, because we are also having their fellow Gen Zs taking up Hiring roles 😂
@@DistrustHumanz I've been a small employer of about 50-150 people for the last 20 years.
Don't think I havn't vetted almost all senior or leadership employees by googling their names. No sifting required, just throw a pair of brackets around their legal name and click "search".
Video's for days for some. Facebook posts for others.
Perceptions are formed by first notations.
As a Boomer I'm impressed with the younger generations. Companies can be extremely toxic. This is all about feedback.
Corpos are doing mass lay offs 🤷🏾♀️
Cyberpunk 2077 reference!? 😅
It boils down to REPECT and businesses do not give it, they treat employees like numbered cattle.
1/3rd of under 35s living with parents with a bed and dinner waiting for them has its benefits.
Cope harder boomer
And the capitalism wheel will keep turning regardless
And will never own a house, loses a majority of income to a system they learned to hate cause it is ripping their wealth...
Yeah, my sister still lives with my parents but she's 31 who is unemployed
These people are still living with their parents because their job doesn’t pay enough to get their own place.
Some might think they're weak or even lazy, but I think they're smart to exercise their power and balance it between employee and employers. Employers shouldn't have an upper hand on employees because the need is mutual. This is coming from a millennial.
We did “loud quitting” all the time in the 90s. Time it came back. Quiet quitting is just ghosting your job.
As a Zennial (Millennial) b. 1983, i loudly applaud you!!! I have felt exactly as you but have been called lazy or crazy or unrealistic for my views about work culture. I knew I wasn’t any of that, I just wanted a better work culture and I didn’t want to lose my health for a paycheck. Is that too much to ask? NO!!! Thank you, keep on saying no! You’re going to help us be a better society!
As an older millennial I love Gen-z. They don’t put up with bs & all of my gen-z coworkers are extremely intelligent
Good for them! As a Gen X we give all we have to our companies. The companies don't care what we sacrifice for them. The workforce needs the, Gen Z has the power.
There's a flip side to this I bet they didn't consider. The boss calls it loud firing.
If you have pto saved. Request pto time. Go on pto, send in your im done letter. This way even if you are fired. U still have that income coming in.
Form a Union. You can get really loud with a bunch of coworkers.
It's quite cathartic and good for the free market too.
“Different priorities for different generations” 😂😂😂😂
Here are my priorities
1. Afford home
2. Afford bills monthly
3. Enjoy some parts of life
If I ever quit my corporate job I ll make sure to tell my mom and my friends all about it. I don’t have social media so I guess that’s how loud I can get 😂
Youth always have the energy and courage to make changes. They’re really right
I hope this really spike up so the whole corporate world will change for the better and evolve. Edit: I also quit my corporate job. Now doing works that are flexible and make me feel the freedom.
k. There are still PLENTY of people to do the job and if not there is plenty of opportunities to outsource. Americans need to wake up to the reality that most of what we enjoy in this world is actually on the backs of poor countries' citizens working far more hours with absolutely zero perks. I guarantee you these lazy whiners would whine if their precious tech hardware and services suddenly disappear
@royscott5884 I see your point. In the end, it's the people that will decide which stress in life that will feel balance for them, and if those higher ups will not care enough for their workers under them then they will quit. Even if they find replacements from whichever country they decide and they do not change, the circumstances repeat and then the company's structure will crumble.
Well, we never know the future but right now, that's seem to be happening. So better change things up.
Yes I quit my job ❤
It's fulfilling my heart ❤❤❤
I'm glad Gen-Z has the guts to stand on their principles. You know the saying: "If you see something, say something." Predatory capitalism has got to go.
Free St. Luigi
Employers watching this: Sounds like there's a labor shortage.
Shocking that a corporate slave hunter tells young people they cannot make the world a better place. Just submitt to being a slave with grace and dignity.
If there are more jobs than workers, workers have the power.
The recruiter asks for dignity and grace😂😂😂😂
Maybe companies should just be less despicable
Companies are like...how dare they!!! ...these despicable minions! 😂
Nice generalization. Just say you don’t want to work to bring in the dollars.
Pathetic Pity Party.
Why not develop some pride in yourself and simply walk away from it with your head up high and your shoulders back.
