Never experienced this problem in over a decade working in IT. Today I just moved house, and on WIFI I'm receiving about 850mbps, yet using it via an Ethernet cable I'm getting 300mbps. Absolutely no idea why, using brand new cables, cat6 on device I know capable of these speeds as previously utilised, makes absolutely no sense. Thinking ISP is behind it at this point.
Did you change your router when you moved? The only thing I could think of would be if any of your new equipment didn’t have Ethernet ports that support 1,000 Mbps. If the Ethernet ports are ok and the configuration of your computer’s Ethernet port looks good, I’m not sure why this would be happening
@network-from-home my router was indeed changed, but on one of the ethernet ports it says it's capable of 2.5gbps but still the same problem. Talking with ISP today

I still think the ethernet connection is more consistent or reliable, the wifi seems to struggle more with multiple tabs open....
My wifi plan I opted is 300mbps and i get full 300mbps speed on my iPhone, but when i test it on my windows pc its shows me only 100mbps it is connected through Ethernet cable! Please help me
It sounds like the Ethernet port on your laptop is rated for 100 Mbps. This isn’t anything to be concerned with, because 100 Mbps will provide good internet performance for any internet activities that you perform with your laptop. I hope this helps!
I have have the same issue of having 100 Mbps cap in wired internet and i have 200+ Mbps on Wifi. Earlier i used to get the same speeds in both Wifi and Lan with an CAT 7 cable. I have tried your fix but when i change to auto i can see my link speed spike up to 2.5 Gbps and going back down to 100 Mbps.
That’s interesting. The only thing I could think of here would be to double check that both your router and your computer have Ethernet ports rated for 1000 Mbps. Otherwise wouldn’t expect you to have this problem
@@network-from-home I have tried multiple ports all same speed but when I connect the router to an extension router I get 200 Mbps in the external router. I will check with my router if it supports multiple 1 gbps in multiple ports or in only one port and rest 100 Mbps.
Leaving it on auto will just ensure that the fastest possible connection is used. If your computer has a 1 Gbps Ethernet port, if you select 1 Gbps full duplex connection you will get the same performance. This is what will get selected anyway by choosing “Auto”, so it doesn’t make a huge difference. I hope this helps
By 'hard-coding' a setting you might be disabling the link auto-negotiation protocol, and if the switch at the other end doesn't see any response to it's own auto-negotiation queries, it may default to something archaic like 10Mbps with half-duplex, causing not only vastly reduced base speeds but also dropped packets & retransmissions due to the duplex mismatch. At least this is how commercial cisco switches & routers operated when I worked with them. Windows end-points & consumer network gear may be programmed to act differently, I don't know and it's not the sort of detail that consumer vendors generally make available. But commercially, if we manually configured speed/duplex at one end of the link, then we manually configured BOTH ends of the link to be the same. But some (many?) consumer routers won't even let you manually configure these settings for individual switch ports. That was for servers or network equipment that didn't get moved around. If you change that stuff on your laptop and it's associated switch port, now you have to remember that you've done so and adjust settings on the switch again if you happen to plug your laptop into a different switch-port sometime. Or it may be a problem if you then take your laptop to a different location & plug it into a different switch altogether. You're very unlikely to have access to configure someone else's switch port to match your manually configured speed/duplex setting. So overall I agree with the recommendation to just leave it set at Auto on your end-device (laptop). Unless you have specific issues with auto-negotiation and understand what you're changing.
I have 1000up/1000down and bought a new ethernet cable and the moment i plug it into the router and to my pc i got the 100mbps cap. I have Auto Negotiation as my Speed & Duplex too.
Is it possible your router has 100 Mbps Ethernet ports on it? Also, make sure your Ethernet cable is category 5e or above. It sounds like there is some sort of restriction in place. Good luck!
Why is my pc auto set the limit to 100 Mb/s anyway when there is a 1000 Mb/s option, my upload/download speed went from 90 Mb/s to 350 Mb/s. If anyone know why pls tell me
Hello, I’m experiencing the same issue, having about 800-900Mbps on Wifi 5G and a bit lower than 500Mbps on ethernet cable cat 5e Both settings you mentioned in video look good. Ethernet speed 1Gbps, Speed/Dulex on Auto Any idea? Thank you in advance
This is a tough one that it sounds like a few others are dealing with as well. My only thought here would be to make sure there is nothing wrong with the ethernet cable, and ensure there isn't any electromagnetic interference (EMI) that could be affecting it. Other than that, it sounds like you have the hardware that would allow a faster ethernet speed.
great video - thank you. Does it work both ways? I've ordered a 6e router to connect to Quest 3. My computer is 2500mbps which I think is way more than what is sent to the router from the pc. Will a standard cat 5e cable be sufficient?
You’re welcome! I’m glad the video helped. Using a Cat5e Ethernet cable will allow for more than enough communication between your laptop and router. My rule of thumb is as long as you are using Cat5e or above, you won’t have any issues
My wired connection gives me about 20% of the WiFi speed, almost certainly because of the powerline adaptors and use of my electric cables transport that I use. Zoom calls occasionally stutter and the speed of moving big movie files are affected from this. The fix - connect my router with a single cat5e or cat6 ethernet cable to the main computer. It has a 2.5G connection.
Question, so I have just gotten myself a 950Mbs internet. On the wifi it provides me with 700+ Mbs while on the cable which I've just replaced to Cat8 I am getting 230Mbs? In the settings for the ethernet I have value set to Auto negotiation with dropdown showing upto 2.5Gbts. Ethernet status is showing 1.0 Gbps. And to top it off i've just installed the latest ethernet drivers for my meg z590 ace motherboard. Any ideas why it still may be slow?
This is a challenging one. Is your computer connected to your router? I would double check the Ethernet ports on your router, but if they were rated for only 100 Mbps, you wouldn’t get Ethernet speeds faster than 100 Mbps. My only other thought might be that your Ethernet cable is experiencing electromagnetic interference from a nearby TV, microwave, or something like that. Those are the main things that come to mind for me. I hope this helps!
I used to get 900mbps on ethernet cable to my ps5 and now it won’t see over 75mbps, nothings changed it just suddenly stopped giving me the same speed. Any ideas?
In these cases, the only thing I could think of here would be that your cable is experiencing electromagnetic interference from something in your home (e.g. microwave, TV, etc.), or the cable is damaged. If everything looks ok with your cable, I’m not sure why you would see such a drastic drop off
@@network-from-home I tried a different cable and it was fine! I noticed on the router settings that the cable had dropped off to 100m while the others being used said 1g so I guess the cable was bad. To be fair the cable was like 8 years old and 30 meters long and it had been curled and uncurled hundreds of times
Yeah that sounds like maybe that affected your connection if it had previously been bent so many times. Maybe it got damaged in the process. I’m glad you got it sorted out!
I enjoyed this video but when I tried to follow on my desktop computer running Windows 11 I found that was not given the option get to my device options following your instructions. It does tell me that I have a Gigabit adapter but my link speed is 100/100. I got to my network adapter option through Device manager and shows 1000/1000. Any ideas?
My first question here would be what type of Ethernet cable are you using? You should just make sure you are using a Cat5e or above ethernet cable. On top of that, what is your laptop connected to with an ethernet cable? You want to make sure the device your laptop is connected to also has ethernet ports rated for 1000 Mbps. I hope this helps!
This is most likely because your internet connection cannot provide 2.5Gbps of bandwidth. The good news here is that you don’t have to worry about that Ethernet port serving as a bottleneck for your internet connection. As an aside, you’ll want to make sure you check the Ethernet ports on the device that you’re connecting to your router to make sure it’s not limiting your bandwidth. I hope this helps!
So My connection with my ethernet seems non existent but the speed tests look fine. TH-cam loads poorly and I cant get into games because of lost to host I thought the problem was an outdated router and modem but when i got the newest made ones from my provider the same thing happens. When connected to wifi however the speeds are way faster and everything loads i can play my games and Stream, It Might be a Isp problem idk any suggestions would help..Thanks
What type of Ethernet cable are you using? I would double check to make sure you’re using Cat5e or above. On top of that, make sure your Ethernet cable isn’t damaged or bent. A good test would be to swap out your Ethernet cable with a different one to see if it helps at all. Maybe there is something wrong with the Ethernet cable you’re using. I hope this helps!
@@network-from-home Ive swapped cables i had a cat6 that didnt work and other cables dont work ether this situation all started when my pc was turned off by power strip then i had no display until i unplugged everything and plugged it back in then after my obs wasnt working my connection was slow with ethernet on gamees then the next day is when the ethernet just stopped working completely Ive tried everything its not a faulty wire, router, or port, i have a solid orange light and blinking yellow on the port of my pc...Im really lost
Is everything working properly with WiFi? My next thought here is there might be something wrong with your internet connection, and your ISP may be able to help
I have a cat 8 ethernet cable and my plan is 300 mbps but I can only get that on wifi not ethernet and my ethernet port says 1000 mbps, can you hwlp me with my problem
Is it possible the Ethernet port on your router is rated for 100 Mbps? My thought is either that is the case, or the Ethernet cable is either damaged or being impacted by electromagnetic interference. I hope this helps!
I have that link speed of 100Mbps but here is the catch. When I connect it via ethernet port from router to my pc it gives me around 100Mbps (Not more than 100) but when I connect it with Dial-Up from direct my Uno to my pc it just goes up to 600Mbps. Why this happen? Is there any solution?
I think I’m a little confused here. What dial up are you referring to? My guess is is that your PC might have Ethernet ports that only support 100 Mbps, which is why you are seeing this
@network-from-home I just figured it out. You're kinda right. My Ethernet ports link speed was only 100Mbps. That's why this happened. After that, I changed my wire and now it goes up to 1Gbps. If someone is suffering from this problem then just change your wire or port. It will be solved.
I have a 250mbps connection and my mobile devices are getting 260mbps on wifi. But my PC which is a MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi mobo from a year or so ago, is currently lucky to get 30mbps, and Wifi is slower again. I am running Cat 6 cable direct to the PC, so that shouldn't be the problem. I've also updated all my drivers etc and have had no success with your tips in this vid... Any other ideas?
This is interesting. Is the Ethernet port on your PC rated for 1,000 Mbps? My thought here is it might be rated for 100 Mbps. That’s the first thing that comes to mind in this situation. I hope this helps!
Hmm that’s interesting. You might want to contact your ISP to have them reset your internet connection just to see if that changes anything, because it doesn’t appear like you have any restrictions from a hardware/software perspective. Good luck!
Your device will either use the Ethernet cable or WiFi, it won’t use both at the same time. Usually if you have an Ethernet cable connected to your device, your device will use that. I’m guessing the speed you are seeing is the speed of your connection with an Ethernet cable. I hope this helps!
my wifi is giving me 600mbps plus and my ethernet is around 56mbps and l checked my duplex and is at 1gb also l have a cat8 cable and l don’t know what’s the issue
It sounds like you might have the same problem I have. The Ethernet port on your device might be rated for only 100 Mbps. Your speed test results look similar to mine. I hope this helps!
same issue here for me too, fibre gig internet to UDM pro to CAT 6 cable { replaced 4 times, same issue }, to 2.5 gig NIC, done all the settings and networking, tried forcing gig on UDM and Speed and duplex, still running at 100 mbps any ideas for fix?
It sounds like one of your devices must have a 100 Mbps Ethernet port. I would guess your laptop or router has Ethernet ports that only support 100 Mbps. To me, that would be the only reason why you’re seeing 100 Mbps with an Ethernet connection
@@network-from-home can confirm that both ethernet ports are capable of at least 1 gig as i bought a tp link TG 3468 and the ubiquiti UDM pro has at least 1 gig on GbE speed

This is very interesting. Those are all the things that I would check. Unfortunately, I can’t really think of any other reason why your speed would be limited to 100 Mbps. I was thinking it had to be a limitation on an Ethernet port, but it sounds like that might not be the case…
i used ethernet all the time and got 40 mega bytes per second. all of a sudden i get only 10 mega bytes and my wifi adapter gets better speeds. i used a different ethernet cable and that didn’t fix it
That’s interesting. My first thought here would be to double check your computer’s Ethernet settings. Another thing to look at would be to make sure the Ethernet cable connecting your modem and router isn’t damaged or being affected by electromagnetic interference (if your modem and router are separate devices). If those look ok you might want to contact your internet service provider to see if they can reset your internet connection. I hope this helps!
May i ask how to check the Ethernet ports with windows 10? Since it seems that there is no way of doing that. My Internet is relatively slow and i tried everything that there is to try. I set the duplex, and some other things like changing the dns server etcetera. do you have any tips? Wish you a blessed day 👋
The process for checking Ethernet port settings on Windows 10 would be similar to checking the settings on Windows 11. Alternatively, you could Google the technical specifications of your computer to see what kind of Ethernet ports are on the device. If you confirm the Ethernet ports are for 1000 Mbps connections, you will want to check to see what category of Ethernet cable you’re using. You will want to make sure you’re using a Cat5e Ethernet cable or above. I hope this helps!
advice needed please. this is strange I just check the speed on my laptop and its 200mbs as it should be then done a test on my TV which is hard wired and got 80mbs so i,m wondering if its the lan switch, I have bought a cat6 lan lead which should come today to test if its my older leads, it used to be fine and give me 200mpbs but not any more, I have a Orbi 960 Series Quad-Band WiFi 6E Router, 10.8Gbps and it only has 1 outlet port so I have to use a switch
What type of ethernet port does your TV have? My guess here is it has an ethernet port that only supports 100 Mbps. The good news here is I have a video coming out 07/25/24 that explains this. Stay tuned!
In my case recently the Ethernet connection started working weird because the Speedtest says 800mb but when I try to watch a TH-cam video is lagging but if I do it by WiFi shows same speed but TH-cam load excelent my pc is a gaming one is powerfull i don’t get it because it was working perfect before I haven’t changed any settings
This is interesting. I would double check to make sure there are no issues with your Ethernet cable. Make sure it’s not damaged, and check to make sure there is no electromagnetic interference that could be affecting it (like from a Tv, microwave, etc.). I hope this helps. Good luck!
@ I tried different cables and ports but nothing worked and it was working properly before there is nothing I changed on my room so idk but hope this is temporary
This is very interesting. If you haven’t changed anything with the configuration my thought is that something must be going on with your internet connection itself
I wouldn’t expect your Ethernet cable to make your Xbox slower. Almost any Ethernet cable is capable of providing more than enough bandwidth for you to online game, unless the cable is damaged. If you truly feel your Ethernet cable is slowing your connection, double check to make sure it isn’t damaged (or being impacted by electromagnetic interference from a TV, microwave, etc.). I hope this helps!
Have you made any changes to your Internet plan? If not, there could be an issue at your ISP. You will also want to make sure there is no electromagnetic interference that is affecting your Ethernet cable (make sure it isn’t close to any TVs, microwaves, etc.). I hope this helps!
In all cases the actual speed I’d dependent on many factors. My guess is that more customers are sharing some step in the path between you and the testing server.
Hey thanks for telling my problem but is there any solution if the max link speed is 100 Mbps and i cant get it more higher because of my hardware i guess
In this case you won’t be able to get an Ethernet connection faster than 100 Mbps, but as I stated in the video 100 Mbps should be sufficient for any internet activities that you are performing with your computer
oh ok thanks for clearing me out i need more than 100 Mbps for competitive gaming cuz the ping matters too much ill get a new motherboard soon with more higher internet capacity ig
One thing to keep in mind is that ping (latency) is different than bandwidth/internet speed. An Ethernet connection will always give you less ping than a WiFi connection. I hope this helps!
You can get good ping even your bandwidth is only 10M, ping matters more than bandwidth for most of the online games. Btw If your router ethernet limit is 1G, you can buy an ethernet usb network dongle that's capable with 1G.
Is your laptop using WiFi, or is it connected to your router with an Ethernet cable? If it’s using an Ethernet cable, make sure the cable is category 5e or above and that it’s not damaged. I hope this helps!
That’s interesting. Are you downloading the file right next to your router? That would be a scenario where you would get similar results when downloading
That’s interesting. In this situation your Ethernet connection should have faster download speeds, unless the Ethernet port on your device is limited to 100 Mbps
The file you're downloading isn't on the same server as the speedtest server. That is the difference. You might have one speed to your ISP, but the server you're downloading off at the other end may be congested, either it's cpu/storage drive or traffic on its network link. Overall speedtest is useful for comparing real-world maximum throughput of your own link (usually) but not for comparing with speeds between you and any other point other than the speedtest server.
Great video except at the end where you say that 60mbps is enough to do anything you want to do on the internet 😅 what about downloading 4K movies or AAA video games? I NEED IT NOW 👀😆
Downloading can be a little deceiving because many download servers will limit your maximum download speed. This allows them to have enough bandwidth to allow multiple people to be downloading at the same time. If one person was hogging the connection to the download server, no one else would be able to download at the same time, and it would make for a pretty poor customer experience. I hope this helps!
Did you change anything with your Internet plan? You might want to double check what speeds the Ethernet ports are rated for on your new pc. In any case, I wouldn’t anticipate your Ethernet speed to change just by changing the computer you’re using. I hope this helps!
I bought this new CAT7 cable, plugged it in, and it outputted 90 MBPS in contrast to WI-FI 250 MBPS, and another ethernet cable 800 MBPS, I just double checked all the settings and ethernet things you said in this video, and all the settings are the optimal settings you said in the video, my ethernet port handles 1gigabit, and the speed and duplex is set to auto-negotiation. I think the problem is with the cable, and that it is probably a scam.
This might be due to your internet plan. If your internet plan does not provide 1,000 Mbps, you won't see those speeds on your home network even if your ethernet ports support it. I hope this helps!
Excellent! I would advise you always use auto negotiation, because it ensures you are utilizing the best link speed available for the devices that are connected with an Ethernet cable
That’s interesting. Are you performing the test right next to your router? That would be a scenario where you would get similar results with a speed test
If you have fiber internet in your area, it shouldn’t have an impact on the internet connection you have now (if it’s a cable Internet connection). Fiber internet connections have better performance than cable internet connections, but these two internet connection types are independent of each other
Your Ethernet speed is less than 10 Mbps? If this is the case, you might want to see if there is something wrong with your Ethernet cable. You may want to try replacing it and running another speed test. Also, make sure the cable is a Cat5e or Cat6 cable
@@network-from-home I’m not too smart with computers hence me looking at these types of videos I’m using Xbox series x and like I say plugged the etha cable in because the game was lagging but it’s running slightly better with it our and the latency is lower too
@@TEL250r with an ethernet cable connection you will definitely have lower latency. When gaming, an ethernet cable will give you better performance than a WiFi internet connection. Check out this video for more information on this topic: th-cam.com/video/o_MtfXWyRn8/w-d-xo.html
Yikes, I’m sorry to hear that. You might have something wrong with your wireless network interface card (NIC), or it might be disabled in your computers settings. That’s probably what I would check out first. Good luck!
What is the speed provided by your internet plan? With a 1000 Mbps link, you will likely only be limited by the speed provided by your internet plan. I hope this helps!
Interesting ok. Could the Ethernet cable be damaged? That would be the first thing to check. If there is nothing wrong with the Ethernet cable, you might want to check with your ISP to see if they can look into this. I would think you would get faster speeds if you have an internet plan that provides a lot of bandwidth. I hope this helps!
What does your Internet plan provide? I’m thinking if this is the case you either have an Internet plan that doesn’t provide much more than 10 Mbps, or there might be an issue with your connection to your ISP (and they should be able to help you reset your connection)
But I connected the Ethernet with with extender not the main modem Main modem speed : 500Mbps Extender modem speed:70-140Mbps Long Ethernet speed connected to the extender:90Mbps Short Ethernet speed connected to the extender:530Mbps
It sounds like the Ethernet port on your extender may only be rated for 100 Mbps. You should look up the technical specs of your extender to see if this is the case (I’m willing to bet it is). Good luck!
5Mbps will be sufficient for online gaming, surfing the web, sending email, etc. With that said, 5Mbps is not enough bandwidth if you want to stream video in high definition. I hope this helps!
That’s surprising to hear. Ethernet connections should always have lower ping than WiFi connections. You might want to double check your Ethernet cables to make sure there is nothing wrong with them

The fix - connect my router with a single cat5e or cat6 ethernet cable to the main computer. It has a 2.5G connection.
Connecting your computer to your router with an Ethernet cable should definitely improve the reliability of your connection!
Any ideas?
Same. I was getting 940mbps when I first used the cable. After two days, it went down to 330mbps
I hope this helps!
hey so i have a 2.5gb port but i can’t get the link speed to go any higher even if i select the 2.5gb option
@@network-from-home yeah it was the ethernet cable got anew one and it worked like a charm
Awesome! I’m glad that worked out for you
Another great video!
Thank you very much!
I have a cat 8 ethernet cable and my plan is 300 mbps but I can only get that on wifi not ethernet and my ethernet port says 1000 mbps, can you hwlp me with my problem
with ethernet I only get 30 mbps but 300 with wifi
Excellent, I’m glad you were able to figure it out!
@@network-from-home it’s rated for 2.5gbps
Hmm that’s interesting. You might want to contact your ISP to have them reset your internet connection just to see if that changes anything, because it doesn’t appear like you have any restrictions from a hardware/software perspective. Good luck!
werid question schould i use both wifi and lancabel at the same time or schould i just use the lan cabel/ i get same speed with both
Your device will either use the Ethernet cable or WiFi, it won’t use both at the same time.
@@network-from-homel checked the Ethernet port and is at 1000 mbps

No problem! Thank you for checking out the video!
same issue here for me too, fibre gig internet to UDM pro to CAT 6 cable { replaced 4 times, same issue }, to 2.5 gig NIC, done all the settings and networking, tried forcing gig on UDM and Speed and duplex, still running at 100 mbps
any ideas for fix?
It sounds like one of your devices must have a 100 Mbps Ethernet port. I would guess your laptop or router has Ethernet ports that only support 100 Mbps. To me, that would be the only reason why you’re seeing 100 Mbps with an Ethernet connection
@@network-from-home can confirm that both ethernet ports are capable of at least 1 gig as i bought a tp link TG 3468 and the ubiquiti UDM pro has at least 1 gig on GbE speed

recently had a guy come in to redo the cat 6 internally in the house as well due to me thinking something was up, still 100mbps
@@network-from-home nope all ports connected are between 1 and 10 gig
Stay tuned!
@@network-from-home just looked it up your right it is 100mbps but more on its wifi, great educational vid though thanks

@ actually i solved it i went to device manager and installed the previus version
@@carlosalas6358had the same issue bro, what driver did you install?
what should i do if my xbox series x brand new and brand new ethernet cord is making it slower
Whats wrong with my ethernet? It used to max out to 600 mbps ( that's my isp plan) but now it's halved, what do i do?
Have you made any changes to your Internet plan? If not, there could be an issue at your ISP. You will also want to make sure there is no electromagnetic interference that is affecting your Ethernet cable (make sure it isn’t close to any TVs, microwaves, etc.). I hope this helps!
In all cases the actual speed I’d dependent on many factors. My guess is that more customers are sharing some step in the path between you and the testing server.
Great video!
Thank you!
That’s exactly right!
when i check my speed on my iphone im running around 150-200mbps however on my pc im running around 5-25mbps
Is your laptop using WiFi, or is it connected to your router with an Ethernet cable? If it’s using an Ethernet cable, make sure the cable is category 5e or above and that it’s not damaged. I hope this helps!
thanks bro, at least I learned something new today
You’re welcome! I’m glad you learned something
Speed test results are higher with the lan but in actual downloading of the file the WiFi is faster even when performing worse in the same speed test
That’s interesting. Are you downloading the file right next to your router? That would be a scenario where you would get similar results when downloading
@@network-from-home no it is considerably far
I hope this helps!
performance issues my ass it takes 20 mins for an update thats 5gb
i have a 500mbps plan yet im only getting 15mbps on wifi and ethernet
If this is the case, I would take a close look at your modem and router to make sure they support internet speeds of 500 Mbps or more
my wireless WIFI says the link speed is up to 2999 (MBPS) is this the case for anyone else?
my ethernet on old pc was around 40 mbps, i bought the great fast pc,but my ethernet on new pc is barely 7
All signs are pointing to that being the case unfortunately. I’m sorry that’s a bummer
Unfortunately cat 7 isnt an actual certification. Who knows whats actually in there
You’re absolutely right. I wouldn’t advise using Cat7 cables in any situation
This didn’t work mines supports 1000 but I’m only getting 12 gbs
This might be due to your internet plan. If your internet plan does not provide 1,000 Mbps, you won't see those speeds on your home network even if your ethernet ports support it. I hope this helps!
It increased when I chose Auto Negotiation instead of 2.5 Gbpe
Excellent! I would advise you always use auto negotiation, because it ensures you are utilizing the best link speed available for the devices that are connected with an Ethernet cable
I just started using a wired connection yet the speed is identical to my wireless (18mpbs download).
That’s interesting. Are you performing the test right next to your router? That would be a scenario where you would get similar results with a speed test
@@network-from-home I figured out that I live in a part fibre area so my internet will generally be worse

My wifi is 530 and by ethernet 90
But I connected the Ethernet with with extender not the main modem
Main modem speed : 500Mbps
Extender modem speed:70-140Mbps
Long Ethernet speed connected to the extender:90Mbps
