    Excellent.
    Really interesting.
    It's nice to see a company of specialists.
    Not solely concentrating on profit.
    Highlighting a balanced approach, consideration for the weapon, environment, shooter and application.
    A reflection on the standards and dedication that made Britain Great.

    • @eltelboy8492
      @eltelboy8492 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @ they are about £90 a slab around my way, which is too much for me. I am not say that hull doesn’t put out a quality product it does, it’s just the pricing that is an issue across all manufactures, there is no longer £130 per thousand cartridges out there to get new people onto the sport.

    Very interesting that, for steel, matching chamber length and cartridge length is important for barrel protection. HCC have gone for tougher biodegradable wads that take (much) longer to degrade after firing than some others. I wonder if they are less likely to degrade (go brittle?) in long term storage than, say, Eley’s biodegradable wads which dissolve beautifully after a shower of rain when lying in the field.

      In the early eighties I could reload a 12 gauge trap load for 10 cents Canadian per round using reclaimed shot. The price of primers was $10 per thousand. Just the primers alone now cost 10 cents if you can get them, and the cost of powder is also through the roof! Try to get a straight answer for the scarcity, good luck, there seems to be more answers than questions to that one.

    Great vid,
    The biggest problem with cartridge manufacturers is that they are shooting themselves and their future with cartridge prices.
    One of the main reason why numbers are reducing in people taking up the sport is simply due to cartridge prices.
    Hull Superfast were £200/thousand 18 months ago... they have gone through the roof. As for steel shot, well that is bonkers. If you want want people to use steel then how do we "entice them", let make it oober expensive!! whos brainwave was it to make these eco friendly cartridges soo expensive that noone is going to use them?
    Before long there will only be a handfull of people shooting simply cos of cartridh=ge cost, and what will happen to the companies then?
    Solution: Reduce the prices and increase sales, thus increasing consumer numbers and securing the future revenue!!!
    Thoughts?

    • @JamesChurchill3
      @JamesChurchill3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The current issue is powder supplies are limited because of current global events. Most of what is produced is used to fire things at Russians, what's left over is therefore priced higher. I'd like to think when things settle down, prices should start to drop but I fear now consumers have become accustomed to paying £80+ a slab, that ship has sailed and prices will only increase.

    • @callumhepworth-smith6376
      @callumhepworth-smith6376 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @JamesChurchill3 although i understand that excuse do you really think that manufacturees will ever drop prices? Well you heard it here first (they will keep prices up and just increase profits). Just greed. And its mainly only primers that are used overseas because SG carts arent effective enough... so whats the excuse for steel carts? ... its all greed for now, and lack of playing the long game.
      I was shooting 3000 carts a month but the cart prices have forced me to stop totally... WELL DONE... i know at least a dozen more at our local ground who have done the same!!

    • @JamesChurchill3
      @JamesChurchill3 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@callumhepworth-smith6376 No that's what I'm saying in my comment, I think now the prices are set and people are still buying cartridges (albeit less of them) the prices are likely to remain at their current state, or increase once the current, er, disagreements, are settled in Ukraine.

    There are thousands of us in the UK who would be over the moon with joy if Hulls could find it in themselves to ask Weihrauch to start closing and finishing spring ends, using well fitting guides and top hats, and not saturating the innards of their guns with horrible orange grease.
    when we spend between 500-900 on spring gun, it shouldnt twang or grate or diesel. Thats what we expect of cheap Remnigton/Stoeger/Gamo level brands.
    HW are market leaders and Hull should remind them of the fact that here in the UK we greatly appreciate and are willing to pay more for things like 'de-burred' and 'properly greased' and 'attention to detail' and 'joy of ownership', and it seems that for about the last 15-20 years their quality and workmanship had dropped through the floor and theyre just surviving on their reputation earned between the late 70s and early 90s.
    Hull, and all employees of Hull;
    PLEASE remind Herman, his family and his employees that we wont continue to buy their product if they cant be bothered to send the same, well made and well finished items we had in the beginning.
