Bang on, great to see a traditional British company thriving.
Not for me you won't. You snobbed at my small gunsmith business. It's Eley all the way for me.
This was almost pornographic lol … I need to get out shoot I haven’t been in months
There are thousands of us in the UK who would be over the moon with joy if Hulls could find it in themselves to ask Weihrauch to start closing and finishing spring ends, using well fitting guides and top hats, and not saturating the innards of their guns with horrible orange grease. when we spend between 500-900 on spring gun, it shouldnt twang or grate or diesel. Thats what we expect of cheap Remnigton/Stoeger/Gamo level brands. HW are market leaders and Hull should remind them of the fact that here in the UK we greatly appreciate and are willing to pay more for things like 'de-burred' and 'properly greased' and 'attention to detail' and 'joy of ownership', and it seems that for about the last 15-20 years their quality and workmanship had dropped through the floor and theyre just surviving on their reputation earned between the late 70s and early 90s. Hull, and all employees of Hull; PLEASE remind Herman, his family and his employees that we wont continue to buy their product if they cant be bothered to send the same, well made and well finished items we had in the beginning.
Don’t shoot hull they are to expensive
How are they recycled?
Its a shame they are so expensive!
You should check out the shotwell on holderness road hull for making the shot for the cartridges.
I love family owned manufacturing companies; I wish that there were more. It would have been interesting to know where the components were sourced from.
700k profit 2023/24, very impressive
Just think of the many fascinating Weihrauch proto type photo's that HC possess. I believe they had on the drawing board an underlever rifle with a rotary magazine plus several innovative break action designs too.
Personally I prefer Epson but 😂maybe not hit anything, seriously great to see a British Company doing well no Johnny Foreigner taken over all the Best to Hull Cartridge for the future Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year I am away to load up my caps into my lone star six shooter regards from Scotland 🏴🇬🇧🎅🎅🤠
Excellent. Really interesting. It's nice to see a company of specialists. Not solely concentrating on profit. Highlighting a balanced approach, consideration for the weapon, environment, shooter and application. A reflection on the standards and dedication that made Britain Great.
They were not very nice to BP Visits, 2 months ago!
They should be refillable by law.
I bought a box of blanks for poacher alarms and not one fired , the cap did nothing, is this damp? They were kept in plastic boxes for about two years. Is this too old???
I can't tell how many three crowns I've used, No6, ounce and a sixteenth. Great cartridge.
Just think how good the cartridges would be in the United States. If a shotgun was the only gun you're allowed to own..
What was Benelli rich shooting 😂😂😂
Great video 👍🏻
I'm sorry but this is from a country that expends probably less ammunition than most. No ones beats the USA in ammo production or quality.
Lucky we make the best guns, then,
Fun fact, Hull cartridges are featured in the film Hot Fuzz, great product placement!
The narrator is a typical journalist who hasn't a clue. He says "cartridge" when he means cartridge CASE or just case.
You mean the tall one? That's Jonny Carter, runs the channel TGS Outdoors and has been involved in the gun trade for years, has written multiple articles for shooting magazines. He definitely has some clues, if he's not using the precise term to your definition, I am sure it's purely down to having enough years in the industry to use colloquialisms when referring to components.
@@JamesChurchill3 Thank you - I stand corrected. 👍👍
Work pretty well on drones too.
Only knew the name because of Weihrauch air rifles - glad this popped up on my youtube feed. A great GB company.
In this video, I find that the music is to invasive and prevent me from understanding the narration!!
Great vid and nice people.
Superb product. Superb film. Well done JC.
and all that is in my back yard , keep up the great work.
I would love to try your cartridges here in the US do you export to the US
Absolutely, check out www.clayshooterssupply.com/
Will resist steel as long as possible don’t like steel
they make their own shot? they make their own hulls? check out the gamebore or B&P factory tours --- is Hull just really a cartridge assembler ... unlike these other ones?
Great vid, The biggest problem with cartridge manufacturers is that they are shooting themselves and their future with cartridge prices. One of the main reason why numbers are reducing in people taking up the sport is simply due to cartridge prices. Hull Superfast were £200/thousand 18 months ago... they have gone through the roof. As for steel shot, well that is bonkers. If you want want people to use steel then how do we "entice them", let make it oober expensive!! whos brainwave was it to make these eco friendly cartridges soo expensive that noone is going to use them? Before long there will only be a handfull of people shooting simply cos of cartridh=ge cost, and what will happen to the companies then? Solution: Reduce the prices and increase sales, thus increasing consumer numbers and securing the future revenue!!! Thoughts?
You are not wrong
The current issue is powder supplies are limited because of current global events. Most of what is produced is used to fire things at Russians, what's left over is therefore priced higher. I'd like to think when things settle down, prices should start to drop but I fear now consumers have become accustomed to paying £80+ a slab, that ship has sailed and prices will only increase.
@JamesChurchill3 although i understand that excuse do you really think that manufacturees will ever drop prices? Well you heard it here first (they will keep prices up and just increase profits). Just greed. And its mainly only primers that are used overseas because SG carts arent effective enough... so whats the excuse for steel carts? ... its all greed for now, and lack of playing the long game. I was shooting 3000 carts a month but the cart prices have forced me to stop totally... WELL DONE... i know at least a dozen more at our local ground who have done the same!!
@@callumhepworth-smith6376 No that's what I'm saying in my comment, I think now the prices are set and people are still buying cartridges (albeit less of them) the prices are likely to remain at their current state, or increase once the current, er, disagreements, are settled in Ukraine.
Hi Jonny, Quick question: chap in the vid said the Sovereigns pump out at 1650 fps which is reet quick, but their website states 1500... which is correct?
He’s referring to the Sovereign Parcours Extreme Range shells.
@hangarrat they still dont push out at 1600
@@callumhepworth-smith6376 Well then they’ve written 1600 fps on the webpage for them just for the banter have they? Righto sir.
Sellior & Bellot super parcuors ,are just as good a Hull £265 k 😉
Fantastic insight, and great to see that we do produce some great things coming from ( Hull, the place) and Hull Cartridge are still going strong. Regards A Hullite
There's hundreds of little manufacturing concerns tucked away in the east, just waiting to flourish if we ever get a government friendly to small business.
My Weihrauch 99s Air rifle,s barrel is stamped HULL CARTRIDGE! Why?...I don,t use firearms only Air guns! Best to Hull Carteidge. Me? 77 Ex Armourer Fleet Air Arm. LA5 Lancs
They were the official importer of that brand , they stamped the barrel so they could differentiate from their guns and grey imports.
@@brianwatt9821 tThanks Brian
Great video David and Jonny
Why don't the prices come down when commodity prices go down? The sport will die out if prices keep going up at this rate.
In the early eighties I could reload a 12 gauge trap load for 10 cents Canadian per round using reclaimed shot. The price of primers was $10 per thousand. Just the primers alone now cost 10 cents if you can get them, and the cost of powder is also through the roof! Try to get a straight answer for the scarcity, good luck, there seems to be more answers than questions to that one.
I’m a Hull, I’ve been searching for years to find out my origin. DNA test concluded I was of European descent.. 🤔 Can’t help but wonder if this is part of my family’s history or lineage, are we related in some way ? Fascinating history.
Get a grip
Super enjoyable. So well edited.
Very interesting have never used Hull as my cartridge supplier doesn't stock them
I wish they would invent a hydrowad for the ultimate 20’s
I want to see some steel options for 410s
Think the bump in the road is the rising cost of cartridges pricing people out of the sport.
What are you paying a slab of Hull sovereign?
@ they are about £90 a slab around my way, which is too much for me. I am not say that hull doesn’t put out a quality product it does, it’s just the pricing that is an issue across all manufactures, there is no longer £130 per thousand cartridges out there to get new people onto the sport.
Yes, it's why I stopped shooting altogether. I'd have to win the lottery to restart. Having said that, full bore rifle has been expensive for a very long time.
@@eltelboy8492 so here in Australia a slab is 181 at my local supplier. So pretty much the same as you. I currently shoot the GB competition in 8s And they are 110 per slab from our club. Huge difference. I used to shoot gamebore but they are too expensive also.
Being an American, may I ask how many cartridges are in a slab?
After 15 years of shooting, I will never use anything other than Hull.
I used fibre Gamebore many years ago, at that time the smell of burnt hair sticks in my mind!
Great video, they know their game!
Why are cartridges so expensive?
You should try getting into fullbore rifles.... Now that's expensive
Very interesting video 👍👍
