The classic shows from back than have become big parts of animation history, and with all the amazing program blocks and marathons the channel just felt so alive.
Did Cartoon Network really decline in 2001? I didn't think so. If so, not by much. It was still competing strong vs Nick and Disney, and Fox Kids (and Fox Family) ceased to exist. Let's not forget that Toonami and Adult Swim were also a huge factor for CN. I still thought CN was fine UNTIL maybe around 2006 or later when live-action shows were suddenly popping up.

What happened? They stopped airing anything but TWO cartoons less than a decade ago. They're making all these new cartoons, but not airing them at all. Now they're cancelling them because nobody is watching them. No surprise that animation is dead
Just like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network is dying ever since they shut down their studio. Nickelodeon is just Spongebob & Loud House. By Late 2023 CN is dead. The only shows they air are the still ongoing Teen Titans Go, Prince Ivandoe, and Tiny Toons Looniversity, that’s it. The channel is boring.

I think the BIGGEST main reason CN has fallen hard, is to put it simply: The "watering down", because "cartoons are too violent" that there's no humour anymore, which makes newer shows uninteresting. All the newer cartoons simply are not that funny anymore, unless you're talking Family Guy or Futurama, but that's more "adult cartoons".

I’m afraid that without a live streaming option that doesn’t require a cable subscription, and drastically rethink their online presence/apps Cartoon Network is doomed. They either get with the modern times, or the world moves on..
Well I'd love to see the network bounce back, I've love to see some returns of Teen Titans (originals) and the S.W.A.T Kats. However I don't see the animation world ever bouncing back to it's former glory. Animators today are more worried about spreading a message instead of telling a story.
Yeah, I think CartoonNetwork could certainly benefit from re-airing old cartoons on the main network rather than just using Checkered Past, but I honestly don't think making new shows from the old shows would be a good idea unless the original people involved were to be involved with the revival, otherwise you run the risk of making a PowerPuff Girls 2016 or a Teen Titans Go. Seriously dude, you should've double-checked to make sure you were referencing the right series when talking about PowerPuff Girls. Anyway, I personally think it's good that CartoonNetwork has gotten Chemo-therapy for their cancer of Teen Titans Go. Now all they gotta do is actually make a good work environment, promote creator-driven shows, and who knows? One day we might actually get Galactic Kids Next Door on TV.
