Hi TS, I have a LG 65 inch un6950zua, I had to make some adjustments to picture, and so far it looks great, but the only thing I don't like about this TV are the dark scenes or dimming zones, so I guess there's no way to fix it, it looks like I may have to get a better TV like that Sony you're reviewing or a LG qned
I have a Vizio M55-E0 from 2017. The operating system sucks its only 60 hz only 32 dimming zones and the dimming zones are very slow to react to content. There is also no motion control. It does have a wide color gamet with dolby vision so HDR does look pretty decent. I do love how you can create your own picture presets and name them what you want. I use that feature a lot. I have a preset for every source.
I just bought this tv and I love it so far. The HDR is great and was the main reason why I got it. Only downside is the blooming but I dont mind dealing with it since the rest of the experience is great. I have it paired with the new Apple TV 4K and that just brings it to another level when connected to the HomePods.
I bought this tv about 3 weeks ago. It is awesome. At first, I got the Hisense U7H. At first, image quality was amazing. TH-cam 4k HDR videos were so vivid and vibrant. Then, I watched some Netflix and I could not believe my eyes. The black was lifted, looking more gray. Extreme ghosting and posterization in a lot of dark scenes. I decided to get the Sony X90K and did a side by side comparison. The Sony was more natural and realistic. Movies on this tv look insane. Best of all, no motion issues at all. I don't know if anyone else does this but with this tv, I am always switching picture modes... going through the various ones to see which I like best. I am driving myself crazy doing this with everything that I watch. I never did this with my old tvs.
I bought hisense U8H IN 75 inch but if you're lucky to find one in stock or even in any size, got very close picture quality and blacks like Sony 95k and saved over thousand dollars buying that rip off 👍🤙
I saw your other review video for this tv and you sold me! I got this tv from Costco for $1000! With the aluminum backlit remote. Super excited to set it up and play my ps5
I think I'm going to go for the X90K. They've come down in price and I trust Sony. I also want to get a PS5 at some point and some Sony surround sound speakers. I mainly watch movies/youtube stuff for now. But gaming will come in to play eventually. I'm coming from a 50 inch 1080p Philips flatscreen TV. Not even a smart TV.
I have the 50 inch x85j. Only thing I wish it had was brighter light levels on HDR and maybe slightly better viewing angles. Other than that I am extremely happy with it.
Guys, X90K is simply fantastic, just blindly go for it anything above 65 inches....im just enjoying it... If you are concerned about the price of a80k and the durability of oled, then just go for x90k..it's worth the bucks....just ignore the negatives and blooming thing what the internet community worries upon.. It's a no-Brainer!
I have a 2015 sony bravia which is starting to fail, I'm contemplating buying this TV. It's on sale at the moment in Australia as the 2023 TV models are coming in next month. There's so many TV on the market I feel this TV is one of the best before jumping up a class to OLED models
Had the XR-55X90K delivered this week. Question: The Control Menu that appears at the bottom of the screen each time the TV is powered on, can it be disabled so that it only appears when the 123 button on the remote is pushed ? The menu does disappear on its own but it takes too long; it's annoying and I don't want to have to push the 123 button every time to make it go away.
Well Steve you asked what TV I own. Just an old 32 inch XBR 9 Sony Bravia from many years ago. So when I decide to finally upgrade It will be a major upgrade. Its about 13 years old but hasn't missed a beat. Still love the classic Sony picture. Always have. :) This is why I love Sony. They last and the pictures are great!!! Nice review my friend. I always love your presentations. Joe
@@TechSteve Its been an amazing TV Steve. How would this new Sony X90K be for watching sports? Pretty amazing I imagine? I will be scanning black Friday deals today and tomorrow. I just might bite on a 55 inch one. I am not a gamer so I don't worry about that aspect. A good experience watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Sports is where I am at. Love watching Star Trek too. Can I ask what part of the country you live in ? Have an awesome Thanksgiving my friend. Joe
Most tvs are good watching sports the issues is that some people don’t have a good source, i use the TH-cam TV app and everything looks great so I don’t know what bad is anymore.
I notice all the new TVs have less inputs and outputs. My Sony Bravia 4K HDR Android TV from 2017 has so many inputs, outputs. I was about to buy a new one but this annoyed me.
I bought the Sony X 85K based on your review. I appreciate your engineering background I’m going to get this Sony X 90 K for my living room for my gaming I want something with more bells and whistles and the X 90 K comes with a few things that the 85 doesn’t such as VRR or being able to play video games on 120 HZ, and HDMI three or four/ Thank you for making my decision the better XR processor plus VRR plus better stock sound makes it the right choice. You could go with a Bravia at seven but those are $500 more and you can go with an expensive 880 OLED or a 95 OLED but those are two to $3000
Saw one of these in store the other day marketed as X90SU in the UK. I was interested as need a 50 inch ideally for space and seems to be the last opportunity to buy a mid-high spec Sony that isn’t OLED at this size. I must admit I was shocked how cheap it feels and the thick plastic bezels. Not even in the same league as my X950H which is not only a more upmarket design but also a really good TV.
Getting this TV for xmas. Super excited, especially since I’m upgrading from a $300 budget Toshiba tv that around 200 nits. Excited to finally be able to use HDR and not have it look awful
At the moment I have a Samsung tu7000 2020 model, it was a great entry point into 4K however with only 1 draw back for me, no 120hz gaming. So I have purchased this Sony x90k to make use of my PS5 just waiting on another wall bracket so I can move the Samsung upstairs, can’t wait to have the Sony all hocked up on Thursday 🎉 Love the content Steve, have a great Christmas ❤
Thank you for your review Steve. I would like to know, if you please to answer, if there is a very noticeable difference for the image quality watching movies or just a slight difference between the X85K and X90K
i just checked them side by side in the mall, and there is a huge difference (in my opinion) there is softness in the 85k and the blacks are incredible in the 90k. the 200 dollar difference was a bit but id say worth it.
Hello sir .. what about motion blur.. i watch movies.. i am confused between samsung qled Qled q70b and sony x90k.. which tv mention motion properly.. thanku
Thank you, Steve for the review. They need to drop LCDs down to the X80 tier and start rolling out mini leds on their X90 series with more dimming zones and improve local dimming. I'm thinking about getting this televison and have Directv. I'm hoping to get one by the opening day of baseball.
Thanks for the review. I want to buy a new tv and I'm considering Sony LED 65X90K or LG QNED 65QNED813QA. The price is similar in my country. What do you think it's the best option from those two ?
Hi Steve, I bought the Sony 65inch A8F nearly 4 years ago and now considering buying this X95K 85 inch. The use is purely for watching TV and no gaming. Should I do it and will I be losing the OLED quality on the existing A8F? The new 85inch Sony OLED is way too expensive. Is Samsung 85inch QLED a better alternative? They seem to be much cheaper than Sony’s.
@@TechSteve Hi Thanks for the reply, which model the Sony 90K or an LG OLED would you go for? or be a better value overall? Mostly for day-to-day viewing and films. Minus the speakers or gaming usage. Thanks
@Tech Steve Hi No problems, how bad is the blooming, and still a good choice the Sony? Thanks for the help, great content, and video that you are making. Much respect and thanks from the UK. Thanks again for taking the time to reply, lot of money so any help is useful 👍
@12:30 - non backlit remote. The X90k from Costco has the backlit remote; obviously pointless if you don’t have a Costco membership. Would rather have a remote with the traditional number pad than a backlit remote. Debating between the Sony 65 inch x90k vs LG 65 inch Qned85. Full array led vs mini-led (mini-led is suppose to be better). Qned85 possible cons, light bleed when watching content with black bars. Supposedly LG is suppose to release a new mini led version later this year, but I still can’t find any info on it as of today (10/26/2022). Considered the 75 inch, but people say moving it is more suited as a two man job (friends are overrated).
Really not to happy picture when watching cable tv,looks like it could be sharper and crisper. Have the 75 inch seems like aspect ratio is off to me. Recommend any settings for this issue?
Had no problem setting this tv up all by myself as far as getting it onto the entertainment stand etc. Just gotta do some serious man arm spreading hahaha. came from a Vizio and the quality on this Sony is unreal!
Hey steve i have a question looking for a great Tv watch movies but mainly for gaming i have both ps5 and xbox series x i saw one i dont know if u have reviewed it yet i like this on the Sony 75inch class bravia xr x90k 4k hdr full array Led google. Thanks
Hey Steve great video im stuck between this tv in 85inch and Samsungs Q80B QLED tv in 85 inch. What would you recommend the Sony at 1,999 before tax or the Samsung at 1,699 before tax?
Hi @TechSteve, Would you know if this TV supports the MLB app? I know it is a Google TV but on the HiSense U8K which is also a Google TV I cannot seem to get the MLB app to download
Great review! looking to grab either this or the Samsung Q80B for Black Friday. Both seem to have good and bad, I do mostly gaming in the dark so leaning Sony even though the response is slightly slower just due to the black's and brightness. Although on Rtings website I compared the two and on Black Frame Insertion the Sony was rated a 6.0 vs the Samsung a 10.0. Does Black Frame Insertion matter a lot? Again I'm using this for the most part gaming at night, usually in low light to darkness but do occasionally watch TV/Movies on it in regular light or dim. Cheers, great vid!
The x90k is gonna be a better tv over the q80b. Sonys image processing is light years ahead smasung also I had the samsung qn90b which I returned because very bad image processing and the q80b is even worse. I ordered the Sony a95k 65in
@@abhilashrao1392 I ended up getting the LG C1 OLED. It was on sale as well on Black Friday for $1900 so grabbed it. Bit more than I wanted to spend but I think worth it, it was $400 less than the C2 and from what I read they're pretty similar. Great blacks and gaming looks amazing, can be a little dark during the day if sun is shining in but I mostly use it at night for movies and gaming.
I have a 65" of this - bought it about 3 weeks ago. Am very happy with it. Am enjoying my PS5 with 120Hz gaming. Just one thing - you had listed PS5 Cap[ability with 120Hz at 1080p, when I can actually play games on this model 120fps at 2160 x 3840p - and I believe that to be much better. This TV is PS5 VRR Compatible too - so that is a nice touch. The only sad thing about the PS5 with this X90K is that it will not let me encode the new "1440p" 4K upgrade with PS5. Now that is a bummer I don't know what the hell is going on. Cool video. Definitely not the best TV but by far not the worst!
Hi Josh - What do you mean by "encode the new "1440p" 4K upgrade with PS5"? Is this a limitation? I would like to get the most of out of my PS5. Thanks!
To answer your question for us at the end of the video, I currently have a 65” Sony A9G oled. I love everything about it but the size (and a backlit remote would be nice). Now I’m deciding on replacing it with an 85” X90K ($2k) or a 77” A80K ($2700). The 83” A90J is a bit out of my budget at $5k.
@@nickdavidelijah I ended up going with the 85” X90K and I absolutely love it, no regrets. The picture quality is really good. Although technically not as good as OLED, I can’t say that I miss OLED when watching this tv because it more than holds its own.
So I've been looking at a couple different TVs that can run the ps5 like the X90J and few samsung tvs and the x90k and I'm really leaning toward this one 1 just really want to make sure that my final decision is the best 1
I know Im late to the game, but I purchased this tv at BB as an open box 75" for $900 and they threw in a sanus tv stand because it was missing the feet. I will say this though, I love this tv for mutilpurpose use especially after the updates. There is hardly no blooming or light bleed at all now! and they added a game bar for those that care about that... 4k movies look great! gaming looks great! Processing is King too
Great review, thank you. I bought a 65'' A80K, Sony OLED recently and I see this X90K 75'' with the same price as A80K. What is your suggestion of changing my TV from A80K to X90K? I am more interested in Picture quality and I am a Sony fan since a long years..
Pretty much a hard-core gamer using the Xbox series x. Im always playing call of duty and Battlefield games. Would this be a better choice than TCL Series 6 -Model r646?
Hey mate, i am very confused between sony 80/85k, sony x90k, sam q80b, sam the frame 2022 and the sam bu8000. If you can suggest me one out them, anyone you think will be the best in that price range, than that would be really helpful. I am not a gamer, all i want is a good tv to watch OTT and local tv channels in India. Thanks in advance
I'm justing the legs it sits on are not adjustable in height I have alot of games consoles a dvd player abd sky and not enough space so usually put some on top of my stand but looking at this vid it might block anit of the view. I have my x90k on order but now I'm wondering if I should have gone for the pansasonic 75inch rather than the x90k 75inch
Thanks for the review! What’s your thoughts on the X90K vs the Samsung Q80B? I’m a Sony/LG/Panasonic fan but I’m finding a lot of mixed reviews on this years Sony. Thanks in advance!
Samsung is more prone to dirty screen effect, Sony has cleaner panel, sometimes a little dark corners but nothing like Samsung TV. I'll avoid Samsung for sure
@@kwinders Aah I see. I think I saw another video where the light when the tv was turned on was white though, like my previous Sony TV's. But good to know I can set it in different ways so it doesn't get confusing. Thanks for your response !
Not sure i agree with the gaming comment. Hdmi 2.1 supports 4k120 as does the ps5 with both VRR and ALLM. Are we saying that despite it having a 2.1 the TV itself is throttled to 4k60? Doesn't make sense as i have a 75 2021 model of an xh90/95 with lower specs which can support this

Hi
How would this tv compare to an Oled LG C2? Or Oleds in general? Night and day difference?
Thank You
Brighter but has blooming
@@TechSteve
Hi
Thanks for the reply, which model the Sony 90K or an LG OLED would you go for? or be a better value overall? Mostly for day-to-day viewing and films. Minus the speakers or gaming usage.
Thanks
I’m like the brightest TV but i don’t recommend models
@Tech Steve
Hi
No problems, how bad is the blooming, and still a good choice the Sony?
Thanks for the help, great content, and video that you are making. Much respect and thanks from the UK.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply, lot of money so any help is useful 👍
That’s not something that you can describe, i think i should some footage
Qual tv seria melhor para meu uso que só gosto de assistir canais abertos, a Sony 65x90k ou a Sony 65x77L?
Great review! I ordered this tv and subscribed!

Thanks 🤓
6:43 is that a typo when it says "4K 60 fps" on the PS5? You're said it displays 4k 120fps
The game was 60fps not 120Hz
@@TechSteve Will it display 4k 120Hz for games though?
Yes, I haven't purchased any
Thanks for your Video , Today i buy this TV from Sony World Jeddah-Saudi Arabia , it's fine , Thanks so much for your review
That’s a close match
Great demo Steve thanks, can you use your air pods with this TV?
Yes, just press the pairing button and scan for them
If u turn it off is there a light under the tv?
I got my X95j 65” $1089 so happy with the tv!
@TechSteve, this or the Samsung 65Q80b? Thanks!
Really not to happy picture when watching cable tv,looks like it could be sharper and crisper. Have the 75 inch seems like aspect ratio is off to me. Recommend any settings for this issue?
Hi, I need to know which TV to choose between Sony xr55x90k or Lg 55qned876.
If I have to choose between x90k and Samsung 80b,which one would you recommend?
Do I need special screw to wall mount this?
Did they fix the permanent juddering issue on the X90J?
I'm about to pull the trigger on this tv, is this the best tv to pair it with the ps5?
I will never say the best at anything because it too opinionated but it works well
Hi @TechSteve, Would you know if this TV supports the MLB app? I know it is a Google TV but on the HiSense U8K which is also a Google TV I cannot seem to get the MLB app to download
Is this better than the X85k?
How does the x90k compare to the x85k especially in gaming? Is it a real upgrade? Is it worth the extra money?
It’s a 10Bit instead of 8 Bit and the processor delivers a true 120Hz
X90k or X85k for PS5 purpose price wise?
I have a X900F and plan to upgrade to the X90K without switching my wall mount. Will the same mounting screws for x900f (M6) fit the back of the x90k?
Which is better for prominently sd/ hd channel X80k or X90k in 55 inches? Please help
I ordered the Sony a95k 65in
@@habeebs1992 so you suggest x90k over qn90b?? I feel the motion is good in qn90b share Ure thoughts.. I would like to buy one
Please let us know I am planning to buy this or Samsung qn90b
@@abhilashrao1392 I ended up getting the LG C1 OLED. It was on sale as well on Black Friday for $1900 so grabbed it. Bit more than I wanted to spend but I think worth it, it was $400 less than the C2 and from what I read they're pretty similar. Great blacks and gaming looks amazing, can be a little dark during the day if sun is shining in but I mostly use it at night for movies and gaming.
I'm confused between 75x80k and 65x90k. Could you help me?
How about DSE? Is the panel clean? I need a clean panel without any noticeable DSE ..
Most non oled will have some but fald helps
I noticed the typo on the video too late but it’s 4k120
@@TechSteve so the max for 120fps is 2160p? Not 1080p
And you get that on the series x too or only the ps5?
@@deijannoreiga3924 Yes- VRR and up to 120hz 3840 × 2160 which is very good.
What did you end up going with? I’m deciding between those two too
@@nickdavidelijah I ended up going with the 85” X90K and I absolutely love it, no regrets. The picture quality is really good. Although technically not as good as OLED, I can’t say that I miss OLED when watching this tv because it more than holds its own.
Does this TV support 10 bit uhd from sky q box UK
How does this compare to the Samsung Q80BD (Costco)? Is there one better than the other?
@techsteve Is it Better than Samsung QN85B

I'm debating between this tv and the TCL series 6 R635, wich one is considered better.
The R635 doesn’t support HDMI 2.1
Sir steve what is the remote model # of this tv? thanks in advance.
Processing is King too
What about motion blur or ghosting? I'm tired of buying TVs with this kind of issue...
Great review, thank you. I bought a 65'' A80K, Sony OLED recently and I see this X90K 75'' with the same price as A80K. What is your suggestion of changing my TV from A80K to X90K? I am more interested in Picture quality and I am a Sony fan since a long years..
Don t do it, you lose a lot of picture quality switching from your oled pixel level control to a FALD TV with less than 100 zones
Have you purchased any.. am also in the same situation now.. could you tell me which one you purchased
That's the 2 TV I'm hesitating with rn!! Which one did you end up buying??
with the same price range, getting different feedback from different reviewers. good if somone can advise
Samsung is more prone to dirty screen effect, Sony has cleaner panel, sometimes a little dark corners but nothing like Samsung TV. I'll avoid Samsung for sure
Qn90a or this tv?
Does this tv has pwm like oled?
Hey Steve. I noticed the red light when the tv is on. Can you change the light to a different colour (blue for example?)
Nah, you can’t change colors
@@TechSteve thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll just turn it off (although it might be hard to see when the tv is turned off than..)
@@randoozle9831 you can set it so the light is on when the TV is off and the light is off when the TV is on so it's not distracting watching TV.
