Makes sense that one day I will move it into the bedroom and buy a bigger Sony for the living room. Maybe 55 inches this time and maybe the Sony X90K. We will see. Great review here and thank you. The X90K is a wonderful choice and the 65 inch is a thousand bucks right now, it may seem big at first but you will not be disappointed when you get used to it.
Hey man, thanks for this! My kids literally just surprised me with this TV they got on sale at Best Buy. I LOVE this TV. Thanks to this video, I paired up my remote via Bluetooth which helped a great deal! Got the TV settings set up the way I want. The only thing I will say that annoyed me, was that I went into the main picture settings to set up the picture the way I wanted. But when I was running a streaming app, none of the settings translated over. Apparently, you have to run the app in question (Plex, Netflix, etc.) and set the picture settings while the app is running. I didn't know you could set specific picture settings per app. I guess that make sense, but because I didn't know, it was making me mad that my settings weren't applying. It would have been nice to have an "Apply to all apps and channels" option, but oh well. Figured I'd post this in case anyone else ran into this.
Never owned an OLED or Plasma but some blooming don’t bother me any. Gray blacks across the entire screen does though because it causes the image to look washed out. I grew up with CRT Projection tvs then later had DLP Projection when they came out. Last Projection tv being the Mitsubishi 73 inch. I really miss that tv but my parents got rid of it after I moved out. I now have a 55 Vizio. I’ve been looking at getting the Sony 65 inch tv like this one. Seems like a decent upgrade from mine. The processing seems a lot better; thats one of the downsides of owning a Vizio or any other “discount” brand.
Not kidding and many people do not know this: With most Sony televisions you do not have to pull it out of the box to place the feet under it. 😱 You remove the left and right side of the cardboard so you have the middle piece holding the tv. After that you are able to put the feet under it with no hassle. A lot of people miss that. It is really smart actually.
Thanks for the tip. Mine is still in the box. Is it easy to do this without tipping tv over? Because I really wanna put the feet under it while keeping it upright. I don't wanna lay it down. Thanks
@@MarkTomeh I did this with the past 3 or 4 Sony Tvs over the last 10 years. Never had any problem. If you place it on solid ground it would not tip over.

Ordered the A95K but due to a frenzy Black Friday “week” the TV was not delivered to me :-( however, my dealer was so kind to send me an X90k so I can enjoy the World Cup while he can sort one A95K later this month. I don’t watch HDR nor I game, I have HD receiver only where I watch sports, movies and Netflix of course. All I can say right now is that this TV is a bargain for the image quality it delivers. The brightness is so strong, it he image pops out of the screen as if it’s 4K while it’s only HD! I don’t see blooming, subtitles are perfectly normal and colors are spot on. After just a couple of days with it, I’m cancelling the A95K order and getting a 75” of this model instead. Stunning stunning viewing experience.
Hii , I bought a U7k -75 inch(2023 Mini Led) but in walmart sony x90k is sold at same price $899. Which one I should consider to keep. I would like the tv in living room. No gaming . Mostly for watching Netflix, hulu
The Hisense outperforms the x90k in most areas. Specifically the HDR brightness, dimming zones/blooming, and dirty screen effect. I also prefer it for handling Reflections better
Guys, X90K is simply fantastic, just blindly go for it anything above 65 inches....im just enjoying it... If you are concerned about the price of a80k and the durability of oled, then just go for x90k..it's worth the bucks....just ignore the negatives and blooming thing what the internet community worries upon.. The higher end tv's have poor anti-reflection as well, imo. The only difference is they reflect a rainbow streak which is more annoying to me. The only current tv made that has great anti-reflection is The Frame. I tend to lean towards Sony's outstanding color accuracy and tone-mapping, in return giving up a little less blooming.
I recently got the LG C1 77" OLED on sale for basically the same price as a 65" C2. It is an incredible television, easily the best I have ever owned and I appreciate being able to afford the larger size by getting the 2021 C1 vs. the 2022 C2. It is vastly better than the 58" Samsung TU7000 it is replacing. I might have preferred the more or less equivalent Sony A80J because I prefer the Google TV OS, but the LG was several hundred dollars cheaper on the day I got it and I already own an Nvidia Shield. Having 4 HDMI 2.1 ports is also a real luxury. I am delighted with the television overall and I simply cannot get over the incredible picture.
Great purchase and I must admit, there is currently NO technology from my experience that is better than Oled for great dark shadow detail. It’s the main reason why I truly love it and in my opinion still consider it the best. Led tvs are a good hack of all trades, but require a lot of adjustments for almost everything you watch. Oled only real problem is not that bright, BUT if watching in a controlled room like no light or curtains on windows it’s simply the best picture available. This is my opinion, but overall I simply love the overall contrast that only Oled can currently provide plus the highlights really pop as opposed to led tvs where the floor shadow level is either crushed/grey and it just doesn’t look right. Favorite TV tech this year is easily QD-OLED. But I love how competition is pushing all manufacturers to be better. OLEDs getting brighter. LEDs getting better black control. I would really like to see an OD-Zero from TLC. There hasn't been much talk about it, but seems like it would really help with some of the LED issues. I really can't wait until there is a non-organic, self-emissive display at a normal size and reasonable price. Years away, but that is the real game-changer. 4,000 nits, perfect blacks, and super wide color gamut.
Great review - I got the X90J based on your review. Unfortunately, that older model failed after only a couple of months. But Sony was really helpful and gave me a replacement with the newer X90K. The specs are fairly similar between the two, but the X90K is soooo much better, especially for HDR content. After tweaking the advanced color settings (as Sony TV always come a little hot in the red and magenta) and all the brightness and clarity settings, the blooming is all but gone. It is still slightly noticeable, but only if you are consciously looking for it. Overall it is an excellent TV for its price. For me, even thought there are comparable models out there for less, Sony's processor and the image processing capabilities are the most polished out of the bunch, so you get a better image overall, compared to Hisense or Samsung - Just my opinion though.
Is there light leakage on content with black bars on the x90k? Currently considering the Sony x90k 65 inch vs LG Qned85 65 inch. Qned85 apparently has light leakage reported by some when watching content with black bars. Considered the 75 inch but people say anything larger than a 55 is definitely a two person job. What’s your setting on the x90k to heavily minimize blooming?
@@strawberryyogurt0 Light leakage? No I have not seen any of that. Like I said though, there is a small amount of blooming, but you will get that with any TV with dimming zones. Compared to other TVs of similar specs, it wins. I watched a bunch of hater reviews regarding the TV on youtube, some reviewers showed videos of blooming that looked crazy bad, but I have seen nothing like that. I have a feeling most of those reviewers are product-skewed to particular brands for obvious financial reasons and just because hate sells, and the videos brightness was upped in post to make the blooming look worse that it really is. Who knows though, maybe they got a dud tv... I have not seen anything near overt blooming. For me, the blooming is almost none existent, and anyway, if you are watching a TV for the black screen, something is very wrong with you. LOL I think for its price, it is excellent. You are not going to get a flawless TV like the A2 or C2 for this price. For me it suits my needs - I have a bright space, and I have the TV on all day, so I need LED for the brightness and no fear of burn-in too. The reflection handling is also great when the image is playing. When it is black screen, you can get a little reflection, but again, who watches a TV just for the black screen... The settings will have to be adjusted by you. Too much to explain. It took me a while to understand all the combos, but start on Custom preset in both HDR and normal, and work your way down. There will likely be more people creating videos on settings down the track, but these are really self-preferential. Hope this helps you decide. I love it.
@@nimbusspacewagon … Which size did you get? Light leakage example seen in the following video at/from 7:23 onward: LG QNED85 Budget MiniLED TV vs the BEST TVs (QN85B vs QN90B vs X95K) th-cam.com/video/WZrXDMePIHo/w-d-xo.html Like you, I’m not even considering OLED because of burn in potential. I will be predominantly using TV as computer monitor. Costco will have the Sony x90k 65 inch for $999 (from 10/31/22 to 11/13/22). The 75 inch for $1499. Never knew what blooming was until I started researching new TVs. Had a Sony Bravia HX820 55 inch since 2012. All I really cared was that the TV worked. I think my next purchase, either the Sony x90k or LG qned85 will hold me over until micro-leds are affordable. Crossed all Samsung’s off my list of consideration because apparently sometimes the soap opera effect still shows up when settings for it have been turned off, someone correct me if I’m wrong about that.
@@strawberryyogurt0 Yeah, I see what you are saying. I don't notice any leakage. If it were me, I would go with the Sony over the Samsung, just for Sony's much better image processing abilities. The image is always a little better handled when dealing with processing on a Sony. They have just been working in the field longer. Sony's control over the soap opera effect is excellent. I can't stand that option, and Sony settings allow some cool customization of this in stages and gradation. I am very happy with it and I think you will be. I got the 65 inch. I am not sure about using it as a monitor, but as a TV it is great. It really shines on HDR, it is the first LED that I think handles HDR brightness well, on par with a more expensive oled. If I had the Cash I would get the 42inch C2 as a monitor for a computer, just because of the contrast ability, but that would be a choice you would have to make. If you can get it at $999, bucks, that is a great deal. I would not hesitate.
Dam those X90j’s really died a lot it seems but at least they been replacing them with K’s. I have a B9 Oled and X900H. Love my X900H and my 85” X90K will be here Saturday (typing this at 11:48 pm Thanksgiving 2022 so barely one more day) and I couldn’t be more excited. Seems to be much better at bright highlights and the color gamut and color volume is even slightly better than C2 according to rtings. I think the X900H already looks fantastic even compared to my 2019 HDMI 2.1 LG B9 Oled
Just bought this on open box at Best Buy. Tv is badass in my living room above the fireplace. No, not an o-led but it’s bright enough and good enough for what I use it for👍🏽

Years away, but that is the real game-changer. 4,000 nits, perfect blacks, and super wide color gamut.
I'm still hearing about burn in issues with at least the samsung models of qled oled models
are the legs adjustable, so a sound bar does not infringe on the picture area? Thanks
Yes
@commendatore2516 hello, I'll forward this to the Bravia team. Sony does listen to our customers, so thank you for reaching out.
@commendatore2516 you're welcome! 👍
LOL
I think for its price, it is excellent.

Like you, I’m not even considering OLED because of burn in potential. Crossed all Samsung’s off my list of consideration because apparently sometimes the soap opera effect still shows up when settings for it have been turned off, someone correct me if
I’m wrong about that.
How bright is it when it comes to nits because i can't find a lot of it?
Any graphical issues when using vrr on the ps5?
Just bought this on open box at Best Buy. Tv is badass in my living room above the fireplace. No, not an o-led but it’s bright enough and good enough for what I use it for👍🏽
May i ask you where to buy those tv stand/ media console? Thank you
Hey Brandon.. Always love your To The Point and brutally honest reviews.. Please see if you can put X95J side by side to X90K (if you still have it from last year). Wanted to see which one outshines.. Jen, thank you for the teamwork.. You guys rock !!
Hey Brandon.. That’s awesome but man I live in Pakistan not in USA.. I’m your fan far off land and I don’t think the offer stands for me.. Thank you once again.. I’ll keep your reply as a keepsake and a souvenir making my buds here jealous !
Word is X90J is better. I have a 75” X90J and after trying three TVs last year this one is the best at the price point
@@mikedodd9294 distance from tv please?
Still waiting for the TCL 8 series to see how things play out
VRR is OK, but for me it's not really usable, still have issues with it and the back lighting not being able to keep up with 120 fps. Screen flickering and occasional black screens during gaming.
I like that Jen lifts with her leg and not her back......Nice review and unboxing
Good video. Interesting - they say NEVER to lay a TV down as you did. Also you can adjust the screws up one notch so it sits slightly higher than your video to allow a sound bar to sit in front without affecting the screen view
Hey we are buying a TV for a living room, I just wanted to know is it *Worth it to go with Sony X80J over X85J?*
*Or I should expand my budget & go with Sony X90J?* 🤔
Thanks 👍🏻
My favourite tv regardless of year is a Sony! It was our first coloured TV when Sony came out when I was a kid. Coming from an RCA black & white TV. Thank you!
Thankyou for your review of this model. I have just purchased the other day this exact 65" model. Will be upgrading my PS5 Console to 120HZ tomorrow and am very excited.
How is it ? Is it worth it? For i can buy today
@@alexiscarballo2559 It does the justice of being "good enough". Sure you can go for the more expensive X95K but all in all I am completely happy with this model - I have no problems with it. Yes, you should buy this TV if you want to pay a lot less for solid quality👌👌
@@joshfulcifan1015 Agreed for gaming honestly this TV is more than good enough.
How to get service menu to check how many hour the panel is on ? As the remote doesn’t have numbers.
Just got this TV from Best Buy and is set to be installed at home in just about 2 weeks. Wanted a nice big TV for my dark living room so excited for this one!
What did you pay ? They’re on sale now for only $2199 at BB and thinking about getting one.
@@JPatel1995 Same price I paid. A steal for an 85" in my books. A sale at 33% off
I was patient and waited for the Black Friday sale at Best Buy, which started two weeks ago, and paid $999.99 for the 65 inch X90K
We just bought (Amazon) the 85” for $1999; Cyber Monday sale.
@@dansantarsiero1526 same! Got it tonight!
Hello B the installer and JEN. I've heard pretty good things about this mid range TV. I'm curious to see what the two of you think about this TV.
What's up Mike!!
@@movie_av_impulse yo yo Rick my buddy. I'm okay I hope you and the family are the same. Hey man I had to stop watching so many TV reviews because they were driving me crazy especially when the Samsung QD OLED released. There were some toxic people on TH-cam saying that WRGB OLED TVs were no longer relevant. It pissed me off big time. Yes I agree new technology is exciting but how are you going to say the OLED technology we've had for years is no longer relevant? If that's the case why is the LG G2 and C2 so good this year?
@@michaelwyckoff7593 it's Nick 😆 all good though I'm great the family is good! Still no new tv but at some point I may have one 🤷🏽♂️ I hope all is well with you also
@@movie_av_impulse yeah I have been doing a lot of chilling. Right now I have enough TV's in my house and I can only watch one or two at a time. The bedroom and the living room. So I decided it's no sense to keep buying and buying more TV's trying to keep up with the Jones.
@@michaelwyckoff7593 I hear that!!
Hello great day, does anyone know if you can turn the tv on and off with the remote control but without pointing the remote control at the Sony x90k or x85k tv?
Was thinking getting it.. return my U6K Hisense...but after seeing this i am not sure anymore..will it be better
I just bought this tv but I looking for a tv stand with fire place to fit this any help can’t seem to find a stand for 85in
If we purchase online from Amazon, what is the guarantee that they will send us a fresh piece and not a demo piece?
Hi B The Installer or anyone else that may know, what is the tv stand you're using?
It's 2 cabinets side by side from Ikea
I just bought this same exact model transitioning from an early (prior to 2010), 60inch Sony HDTV that just died. For the Life of me I have no idea how to turn this new X90k TV, off using the remote. i've been pressing the green power button on the remote to try and turn it off, and it won't. Do modern TVs just sleep like tablets or something?
Order this one coming in tomorrow thanks for your time it review from you to.
Hey Joe, how are you liking it? Do the colors pop, how is the HDR and how is the upscaling on regular HD channels? TIA!
Is it better than X90J? Not sure what the improved this year TBH. Amazing video again 👏
The recent firmware update on my 75” X90J made a huge difference on the blooming. It was reduced a lot! I’m impressed for what it is and before Super Bowl it was $1599 at Costco. I bumped up the brightness to 35.
I'm curious about the X90K myself but I'm only interested if it has the latest update.
@@anthonydickinson9293 that is interesting since its a year old TV. The last update really did something besides just enable local dimming with vrrr huh? That's amazing
I am hesitating between x95j and x90k what are the differences plz
X95j handles reflections better. Probably would go with x95j
X95j 10bit (8bit+frc)vs x90k 10bit
We love to see our wife help unbox tvs 😁
Hello@BTheInstaller B the installer. Could you guide me which Sony tv's are good in features and also is economically. X8000h 49 inch 2020, X85J 50 inch 2021 or X85k 50 inch 2022? I am not a professional gamer and my dining room is not light. I need to have a tv for at least 10 years since I have a tight budget. Thanks
Apart from sony which brand has the next best motion, depth effect and detail? I personally find motion better in qn 90b than in s95b is it that the neo processor is better for motion than the neural?
bought the 85inch its amazing, might use it for ps5 but I usually use my monitor.
I can’t afford an Oled so this will have to do right? This my best option?
Where I'm from we are limited to what Sony TV's we have and currently only the Sony X90K 75" and the Sony A80K 77" OLED. Considering the huge price difference would I be happy with the Sony X90K for gaming and 4k movies
Thanks for review! Intrest your opinion about 85in X90k for PC monitor work witn documents?
@B The Installer is x95j better for the same or lower price? thx
when are you going to have a80k for review
I just bought an x90k and I am very satisfied with this tv.

I just ordered this TV for almost half of the retail price, as I suppose that big hi tech stores want to sell quikly 2022 TV models to order the ones for 2023 during this period of the year...it's my first Sony Bravia TV and before than this I was considering to buy the model X81K but when I went to the store for a comparison this model was not so bright like the model X90K.
I still waiting for my TV by the courier service and I just think that I purchased a middle range TV by a top brand on the market for less than it's normal price, I can't be disappointed at least.
Thanks for sharing this video 👍
About to set one of these up by myself. Any reason why I shouldn’t?
