Yeah ot takes a strobe effect to notice a big difference in the design graphics of the record. Its a beautiful piece of artwork this release is. I genuinely love it and think you will also. Up the Irons!
Heyo! Thinking of grabbing this after FINALLY seeing Iron Maiden live for the first time this year. Boyhood dream unlocked. Anyhoo... I have another zoetrope record. It looks amazing using my phone (samsung galaxy) with pro mode video. Set to 30fps and a shutter speed of 1/500. Youll also probably need to up the ISO. I got good results pushing to 3200ISO, and you just need a nice bright light, not a strobe.
Should of released it as a box set with unreleased tracks deleted tracks a nice thick booklet with some glossy photos of the band on tour in the Studio more info, Riggsy's artwork we haven't seen there must be all kind's of amazing artwork, it's a bit lazy to be honest. Love Powerslave, The World Slavery Tour, Live After Death is still the best live metal album. Come on Steve more effort, don't think I've said that before.
Hopefully we get that on Somewhere in Time.but i paid 33$ for the walmart exclusive few months ago..i also have an original.but no gatefold.had 1 in 80s but it melted
Mine had a infinite loop on 2 Minutes to Midnight. Before it goes into a infinite loop, there was a couple of large pops on each rotation. This means the quality control and care for it, audiowise, is about zero. Just like in Zerotrope (ka-dish). And for those who say, this is how picture discs are. No. My Maiden England from 2013 (UK) sounds flawless and about zero noise floor. And I have many other pic discs that sound good. This is all up to the quality and care done by the factory. I hope you also complained and returned it. Because they need to know, so they stop feeding us with this nonsense.
This piece of junk needs 100 cleans anyway. I tried and clean it three times, and it still had issues. It got returned. There is a black vinyl of this cutting that came out in August. It sounds flawless and really good, and only cost $20.
I tried it. Sounds horrible though, even after three iso+ifotol+distilled water cleanings. It even skipped on one track going into a loop-hole (that was enough for me to consider it garbage). I use an expensive MC stylus (about $1200). The problem with Zoetrope and Pic discs is the method their done. Why the background swosh/wind noise? And all the pops and crackles, even after cleaning? Seems they put plastic/paper graphics and layer it with clear vinyl? This pressing also uses the same plates and vinyl cut done by Chris Bellman a couple of months ago, 9th. August 2024, so you can get it on black vinyl, noiseless for almost half the price of this. I didn't see any effect on the Zoetrope either. Total garbage release. I didn't give it a second chance, and returned it for my money back, $43. The black vinyl cost only $25 here. If you look up the matrix on this, it is the same as the black one, and the matrix even reveals the EAN-code of the black variant. Just search Iron Maiden Powerslave (2024) in Discogs and it will pop (ka-dish) up.
Apparently, you can only really see the 'magic' with your phone taking a video of it with a light on it. And someone else said, you can see the magic with a strobe light on it (ill try that later). Good grief!
First two years from 2015 were a 2015 remaster for streaming, and one 2015 remaster for CD, and in 2017, it came out on black vinyl. Before this it was cut AAA in 2014, when they also dumped the master tape digitally, before that it wasn't cut on black vinyl since the 80s. The 2014 one was to get them as close as possible to the 80s first pressings. The 2014 ones sounds really really good. Chris Bellman's onwards (look for the CB in the wax) is the second best after the 2014. The originals is of course the best sounding ones.
Same here! It doesn't really do what it shows in the advertising. There is no COOL Optical illusion/animation, it just makes consistent blurry lines while spinning. Ugh!
Get it out of the PVC Sleeve and put it into a MoFi archival sleeve if you plan to keep playing it. Many a picture disk has been destroyed by those off-gassing PVC junk sleeves. I have an original pressing. Obviously the best sounding version. Never cared for the sound of picture disks but they are nice to put into a Wall Hanging Frame to look at.
I agree. I've generally found picture discs to sound atrocious, sometimes as though the stylus is scraping across sandpaper! I've bought this pressing but I'm inclined to think that I'll be keeping it as a collector or decorative piece rather than as a functional record.
Worst thing I've seen is Judas Priest Nostradamus in a thrift store. Had to tell them that it was destroyed. It literally looked like the vinyl had vanished into slimey junk.
Yeah, I can’t play this damn record either. Just another cash-grab from devoted fans to fill up their bank accounts before they retire soon. I won’t be had by them again.
You do need a camera filming at 30 fps or a stroboscopic light (available as an app) in order to make the effect visible.
All that stuff just for the gimmick and garbage. An app? 😂
*60fps

Maiden is so cool, love that band!
Hello from Brazil, it is amazing stuff
Don't you need a strobe light for it to activate?

I'm waiting for delivery..
Did anyone have a problem with "The Duelists" with this vinyl ?? It has a bad infinite loop around 4-5 minutes into that song

We never hold the record like that! We don't touch where the needle goes!!

when you put the record on the turntable it seems that eddie pulled down his underwear hahahaha, excellent vinyl, greetings

Cool vid and cool record.
The turntable could be better.
@@MegaPalesz i guess what you have is the best.
I prefer the eddie mummy artwork on the disc itself
I think you need to set your video recorded to 24fps if possible to capture the effect..
Can't see it either. Got mine today, but nothing. The DIO's Holy Diver (for record store day) was better. 😢
Apparently, you can only really see the 'magic' with your phone taking a video of it with a light on it. And someone else said, you can see the magic with a strobe light on it (ill try that later). Good grief!
Looks like shifting sand moving across the record
Is it to do with the frame rate of your video?
You need to record the video @ 60 fprs frame rate per second. Trying it again. Will work for you. Cheeers
the 2015 remster is not the first time on vinyl.
First two years from 2015 were a 2015 remaster for streaming, and one 2015 remaster for CD, and in 2017, it came out on black vinyl. You need to adjust the FPS of your video on your phone in order to capture it properly. It's either 19, 24, 30 or 60.
No music?
My best friend has bought me this as a Christmas present i wont play it im gonna display it
Wow fingers all over the record eash!
It dosnt do anything to the record
@@beenbomb82 Just smearing a lot of finger oil onto the record's surface. Nice for your stylus.
The turntable could be better.🤘
You need to view it through a mobile phone i think up the IRONS
i can't see anything on my copy
Compliments on how you flip the record from side A to side B, it’s clear you’re a true professional 🤣🤭🤦🏻♂
And here I am handling all new vinyl with latex gloves on so as to not even fingerprint the sleeves!! Going a little too far, maybe??
Same here!
It doesn't really do what it shows in the advertising. There is no COOL Optical illusion/animation, it just makes consistent blurry lines while spinning. Ugh!
The effect requires a strobe light. Jesus Christ 😂
Shit.i just realized what zoetrope meant!! I have this edition!!
Thanks for this. Was considering buying this but now it's a def NO!!
Nao soube mostrar
It's just a another cash in
gimmick don't waste your money

@@Vortigan07 I find $43 to be too expensive just for to look at. It is not that sexy.
Can't see shit, captain

Haaard pass. Non Derek Eddie looks rated G and picture discs just sound bad.
They used to sound bad. Things are different now
